Wednesday special - popcorn chicken with free drink
    Connie C.

I love taiwanese food especially popcorn chicken. When I saw that it was Wednesday's special, I literally jumped and didn't even check the price before ordering lol For the special, there were 10(?) free drink options so we picked the 913 oolong tea but I must say it was very sweet. For the sizzling plate, you get to choose two types of noodles or rice, so we got rice. The tenderloin was so soft and juicy like butter melting in your mouth! Popcorn chicken daily combo - $16.50 Beef tenderloin - $23.50 Service was really quick and it wasn't too busy. The restaurant itself is spacious, but not as big as Times Avenue. Also to mention they have a different menu. We definitely wanna come back to try the single serving hotpots!

New Holidays Drink -- Ten Ren's Tea Ten Ren's Tea @tenrenstea has launched their Holiday Series -- Tiramisu Mousse Drinks: (Cold)Tiramisu Mousse Latte (Hot)Tiramisu Mousse Latte Tiramisu Mousse Flurry Tiramisu Mousse Series enriched with cocoa and creamy flavour. Plus, the chewy textured brown sugar tapioca and cheese milk cap added on top, create a perfect blend for the holiday season. We had a chance to try the following 2 cold drinks: Tiramisu mousse Flurry with tapioca: A slushy drink with intense tiramisu flavor. Super refreshing and smooth to the taste. Tiramisu moose Latte with tapioca: Equally strong flavors of milk tea and tiramisu made this drink perfect for both milk tea and tiramisu lovers. We loved how chewy the brown sugar tapioca was and the added cheese milk cap on top was a layer of smooth and heavenly addition to the already amazing drinks. It's a holidays must try drink!! I ordered take out. The service is ok for me. Because I only ordered take out. This place I came here before for dine in. The food is good. My daughter always get the Taiwanese popcorn chicken kids meal. The portioning is big enough for her. And I always order their soup noodle. Everything is nice and good.

Before bubble tea's arrival in Toronto, there was Ten Ren. Ten Ren was at one point the only Asian alternative to coffee shops, where we would chat and waste idle time. It aimed at a more mature audience than bubble tea's. So we arrived this evening, ordered its famous Chinese tea in the glass pot, filled it with herbs and dried dragon eyes and floral. I must say it was really enjoyable, really sweet with natural flavor, and so extremely fragrant. And I got to sit down and chat for an hour. So here is the invitation: if you want to relax and sit down and enjoy a pot of lovely sweet tea in a glass cup, not just a takeout in a plastic cup, I suggest you rediscover this grandfather of tea houses.

[Sesame Milk Tea] $4.99 - NEVER RECOMMEND :(
    Claudia K.

This location is the one I frequent the most as it's the one closest to where I live. That being said, that doesn't mean that this is the best location; frankly, it's honestly just the most convenient. The service here can be anywhere from subpar to good on any given day, but for the most part, it's usually subpar. This might be due to the high turnover rate of the employees that work here, but that's just my opinion! [Creamy Chicken Soup with Noodles] $11.99 - this is literally their popcorn chicken in a delicious noodle soup! The soup isn't spicy at all and neither is the chicken, but man oh man is it flavorful! This is my favorite dish to eat here no matter how many times I devour it. I typically ask for the chicken to come on a plate out of the noodle soup though so I can take my sweet time enjoying every piece without the fear of it absorbing all of the soup and becoming soggy. YUM [Sesame Milk Tea] $4.99 - I genuinely thought that nothing could go wrong with ordering this drink. I LOVE milk tea and I LOVE sesame flavor as well. The only problem was that the execution was horrible. What I ended up receiving was what I can only describe to be a watery mess. It tasted as if someone had bathed some sesame seeds for the briefest amount of time possible and then they decided to pour milk into said bath water to give the impression that what they were handing me, was in fact, a sesame milk tea. The main problem with what they tried to execute is that I actually have working tastebuds.... I know, I know. I should have brought this to the attention of one of the staff members but to be frank, none of them came to check up on us during the meal. I decided I'd just take it home and try to salvage it. Little did I know that the only way to really and truly deal with this drink, was to let it die in the sink. I would never recommend this drink to anyone if it is made in the same manner mine was. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE CREAMY CHICKEN SOUP WITH NOODLES THOUGH :D

Very clean, quick service establishment with fun and colourful options of cold and warm, slushy and milk tea and tapioca 'bibbles.' we ordered the Wednesday special, a cold apple tea and tapioca in a cute cup, and a slushy coconut milk tea for her. Tea places have being cropping up in the neighborhood at an amazing pace, and for a nice snack, Tea Ren certainly ranks among the top. Agreeing with some of the other reviews, the higher price point is likely need to pay for the lease and overhead, but for about $20 or so plus tip, you can. Get a shareable and a few teas. The squid balls are a good dish, and went pretty quickly. Overall the service was just fine and a serviceable estanlishment. Definately will come back when in the area.

Ten Ren's Tea is offering a seasonal rice bowl, and they are pretty good with its price tag. There are 2 options for the rice bowls which are braised chicken in coconut sauce with rice and braised beef in oyster sauce. I really enjoyed the coconut sauce of the braised chicken rice bowl. For the braised beef rice bowl, I love how soft the beef were. Overall, I had a positive experience with their seasonal menu items and would definitely come back to try their other tea infused menu items for dinner.

Ten Ren's Tea newest location in Richmond Hill. Menu is similar to any other location so if you been to one of them, you know what to expect. A lot smaller than the location at Hwy 7 and Bayview. Tables are really packed together and you can hear everyone conversations doesn't matter where you sit. Noise level is deafening with the pop music, blender, water running, dishwashing from the open kitchen. And the place wasn't busy at all when I dropped by during soft opening. Pu Erh Beef Noodle Set ($8.99) comes with a Iced bbt and dessert was A-ok. Can they just turn down that lousy music? I cannot even think properly with the noise! And I thought Tea Time should be chill time.... Waitress still in training... short changed me by mistake..

Very mediocre and not worth the price you're paying for. TenRens is a great place to sit down and study or chat. Be prepared to pay a lot though! I got the spicy beef noodle, the flavouring was pretty good and tasted like regular beef noodles but, there are better places with more of an original flavour. Some of the beef had big blocks of fat attached but that was ok since many people have different preferences. With any food purchase, you also get the option of buying a drink for $3 off. I got the strawberry banana signature with tapioca and I asked for HALF sugar. Although the lady taking our orders was extremely nice, the other lady that brought over our drink seemed careless and did not seem to care about my sugar option - my friend and I got the same drink so they probably just blended it in mass. The drink also seems to have an apple juice base as the sweetness overpowered a lot of the strawberry. Overall, the tapioca was chewy and perfect but they only have tapioca at 12PM (which I find pretty odd). The entire order came up to a whopping $16.65 and even though I was able to get a drink as well - there are certainly other places that give a bigger banger for the buck.

    Logan and ginger brewed tea
    Jenny H.

This is a good place to visit if you need a spacious space to catch up with friends at. We came here as a group of three and ordered a regular milk tea, taro milk tea, and ginger logan tea. You have the option of customizing the sugar and ice level of your drink though it's not explicitly advertised. I noticed for my bubble tea the bubbles were a bit hard to chew in comparison to some of the other bubble tea places that I have tried. Their brewed teas were fairly good though and you get a little teapot to store your drink. It took a while to place our orders but the drinks were prepared fairly quickly. The space was nice and since there were not that many people in the shop on a Saturday afternoon, we did not have to yell to talk to one another. Prices are reasonable and comparable to other bubble tea shops

taiwanese fried chicken wednesday lunch special
    Amber C.

Overall, the atmosphere is clean with nice lighting. Servers were friendly. The quality of food and its taste has never disappointed, but the prices are just a bit high. Hence, I go to treat myself but not often. - I recently had the taiwanese lunch special, which was $10 and decently filling. The chicken was very juicy and flavourful despite looking dry - the sauce is a nice addition as well. Miso soup was not too salty and a great palette cleanser. - Their snow ice with green tea ice cream, tapioca, and red bean is alright. It took a while to get to us, which was a bit frustrating. It's great for sharing among 2-4 people, however, once you get to the end it's just plain ice (hence, I prefer bingsu.) - Their fruit teas are delicious and fragant but overpriced for its small portion. - Takoyakis were very hot and burned my mouth despite letting it sit for quite a few minutes. That was a shame because I imagined it would have tasted good. Would not get again because of this and its high price for only 6 balls. - For the bbt and slush, it's definitely on the pricer side, but their tapioca is almost always nice and chewy. A solid 3.5/5!

I've ordered bubble tea for takeout, asked for light ice and ended up with a cup full of ice and barely any drink. This is a drink I paid $6! Totally not worth it and definitely not coming back again!

I've been here twice now, once for the Canada Day special, the second for a lunch. The strawberry iced tea with lychee jelly was meh. Not much strawberry taste and the lychee jelly was more like coconut. I don't usually buy drinks for ten ren's as they are usually $6+. For the lunch, we ordered a braised spare ribs combo, deep fried fish fillet combo, Taiwanese deep fried squid balls, and the mixed fruits waffle. The spare ribs were good. Very flavourful and a decent amount. The fish fillet was very fresh and the fish quality was amazing. The deep fried squid balls were probably the best. Not too sweet and very chewy. The mixed fruits waffle was free if it was your birthday and you had a rewards account. The waffles were very fluffy, hot, crispy, and not too sweet. The batter had a hint of tea flavour. Lots of chocolate sauce drizzled on top also. They also came with a scoop of matcha ice cream, banana, and strawberries. Honestly, I expected more variety of fruits.

It's the kind of place that makes you want to settle in, order slowly, and really enjoy the evening. We started with a few appetizers, and the beef tartare was one of my favorite dishes of the night.. beautifully balanced, well seasoned, and rich without feeling too heavy. The foie gras was also very nicely done, smooth and delicate, especially with the toasted bread and the sweetness from the preserve on the side. The risotto was creamy and comforting, with a deep savory flavor that felt very French in the most satisfying way. For the main, the duck dish was especially memorable.. rich, hearty, and full of depth, with the beans and sauce bringing everything together in a way that felt rustic but still refined.
