Took family to this place for first time last night and what a big mistake that was. This place sucks. Don't go there. WASTE OF MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!! The food was fine only if you ordered Dine in separate dishes, service was horrible. Checked out the buffet and it was super cold and seemed like its being sitting there for days. Never going back to this place again, family hated it too. Place was empty, not a single person was there when we got there and not a soul dropped in the whole time we were there, don't wonder anymore why that was. You should see where you had to sit. I been there plenty of times during lunch and dinner. Excellent food. I like their chicken corn soup, briyani, karahi, kheer, lahori fish. Make sure if you like to have naan, ask the waiter to bring you one hot straight of the oven. I chose tempura for the wedding. Asrar, his manager and staff provided TERRIBLE service and DID NOT COMPLY to the agreement . We booked this venue for 100 guests back in August 2018, paid for 100 guest, but Asrar and his staff CHEATED on serving food portion. They provided food for 60 people. At the time of booking we told the manager that we'd like 20 ppl worth of food packed so we can take it with us(since we came from diff. State). Due to family emergency, only 40 guests showed up at the wedding. With family members, there were total 60 ppl. At the end of the night, the staff told us that they RAN OUT of food. How could Asrar and staff take payment of 100 guests with gratuity, and only make food for 60 ppl? The manager WAS NOT there to answer our questions, staff apologized, but ofc there won't be any refund. Dear Asrar, I gave 1star to this place for not fulfilling YOUR PART of the agreement. Your food was GREAT, no doubt. But if you are running a business, please note CHEATING shouldn't be your moto. I don't wana get into AV system not provided when were told at the time of booking that its included in the package. read more

I live right down the street from this place and never knew it was there. My boyfriend and I are huge fans of Indian food and have been craving to go to an Indian buffet for a while. Now that we've gotten the chance to we decided to check the place out. We can both agree that we we're not disappointed. One thing I can say about this place is that if you plan on eating here please do not have plans after because this delicious food will have you in a food coma for hours. read more

Came in here after work for a buffet. 12.99/person. They had chicken corn soup, hot and sour soup, goat karhayi, goat biryani, vege fried rice, chicken Manchurian, beef haleem, butter chicken, bhindi, mix vege, malai boti, chicken tikka boti, potato cutlets, tempura fried fish, salad, and kheer. Some things were super delicious (butter chicken, malai boti, kheer, and fried fish) and others were delicious. Did not try bhindi(okra), mix vege, and chicken corn soup, so can't comment on that. Hot and sour soup was okay. Overall, extremely satisfied. They bring out hot naans on table. Will highly recommend and will def be back. Restaurant was neat as well. read more

We aren't quite the couple for indo-pak food but this place actually satisfied that rare craving for it. Their buffet of 12 bucks catered to most dishes one would expect. They had their biryani which wasn't too spicy (perfect for me) had the gosht and nihari and fresh naan for every table. The grilled tandoori chicken was alright. I would like to see some butter chicken. They didn't have it and haven't had any good one in Houston so far. Their service was great. Restaurant was clean! Buffet was fresh and their soups hit the spot if you're sick and even if you are not. Good spot for your occasional desi food. read more

THE WORST restaurant I have ever went in Houston. Interesting thing is that depending on how you look, you may have to pay ahead or later. If you are kind of an 'owner-look-alike', you may get to pay after dinner. For me, I was greeted by 'blah blah ... , you need to pay before the buffet". While i was having food, i quickly noticed that paying in advance is not the norm, i did see many folks pay after dinner. Almost all of them looked like the cashier though. Great Food and the owners have redone the place and looks very nice. Great place to take friends for a meal. The buffet is excellent and hot. It is refilled very fast and the food is always fresh. The Weekend buffet was excellent with Paya and Halwa Puri and Haleem with all the other regular hot foods. Excellent desert Kheer is always fresh made. Will keep going there. Tempura is my favorite Desi restaurant to go to in Houston. The food is always amazing. i love the Biryani and their catering is really good. Asrar is really nice and friendly. Never in my life have I ever seen potatoes in biryani, but apparently Tempura is a trailblazer when it comes to Indian dishes. Here's some advice: Stop trying to skimp on the chicken by filling up the rice with your tiny potatoes and stick to the traditional recipe! Honestly, I have never been more disappointed with Indian cuisine in Houston than after eating Tempura. While I appreciate that they provide a halal option, there was barely any chicken in the biryani, and in their goat korma the majority was bones and oil. What is the point of getting halal food if there is no meat? The flavor of the food is fine, but there are plenty of other hahal restaurants in Houston that are much better, so I'd suggest taking your business elsewhere. read more

If I could I would give this place 0 stars. Rented their banquet hall for an event. The owner wanted the payment in full in advance which we gave him right away. He assured us everything will be ready on time and when we get to the hall at time of the event there was trash every where, no center pieces on the tables, no linens. It was disgusting. When we call him he is like oh I'll take care of it. This was at 9am. At 1100 am I'm still asking him where my center pieces were and where the napkins, chair covers, and my food warmers were. The guests were there for a few hours now and there wasn't even appetizers served due to their lack of service.He didn't seem to care. Do not have your event at this place the owners do not care. There was not even an apology. This place is a scam and owned by disgusting scumbags who will take your money in advance and not deliver the service they say they will. read more

This place was the Old Shahnai.. restaurant, and was known to be a DUMP, but since it changed ownership and Now is Tempura Halal, it has gone thru a 100% transformation.. The Food is Fresh and The BBQ is the BEST in Town, you do not have to go to South or any where else.. Their Chicken Malai Boti is da BEST and so is the Beef Bihari with a Fried Paratha..All the other dishes are great too. The owners have Invested good money and now whenever there is a Party catered by them, people eat so much and rave about their food..Been to 3 events @ Hyatt regency, Safari Ranch and Double Tree and the food was fantastic at all the parties..Hats off to Mr. Asrar and Mr. Latif for taking good care of the customers. The last visit we were there 2 weeks ago and it was packed and sure enough Mr. Latif was on the floor talking to customers and welcoming everyone, making sure they left Happy..That is what we need.
