On January 30, 2025, there was another withdrawal of $440 from my HSA debit card even though I still had 4 sessions remaining. I called the office and was told it was their policy to automatically debit my account every month until I cancel. I immediately told them to cancel my membership since I still had 4 sessions left. The General Manager, Nik, apologize and said "that is not how we do business", and that he would cancel my membership and I would receive a refund for the January payment. However, on Mar 1, Stretch Zone again debited my HSA for another $440. I called the office and they assured me they would take care of it. Because I had lost confidence in Stretch Zone and the General Manager Nik, I withdrew the remaining funds from my HSA account and sure enough, Stretch Zone attempted to debit my HSA account again on Mar 27, then Mar 28 and finally Mar 29. Once they realized they were unable to debit my account, Stretch Zone cancelled my remaining 3 sessions even though I had affectively paid for 16 additional sessions with 3 remaining. I stopped by the office on several occasions and left notes for Nik, who was absent from the office and requested that he call. Nik never responded. I was finally able to speak to Nik in person several days later. Nik's comment was that he was just a middleman and that there was nothing more he can do. On April 7, I received an email from Stretch Zone apologizing for the mistake and assuring me I would receive the entire amount of what was due to me from those three payments. As of today, January 15, 2026 I still have not received my refund. I just filed a claim with the Consumer Protection Division (https://oag.maryland.gov/i-need-to/Pages/business-complaints.aspx). Hopefully that will help.

The space is decent and laid out in a way that makes sense. Depending on the time of day, it can get busy, but I'm usually still able to get through my workout without too much waiting. It's a good mix of people too. You've got beginners, regulars, and people who are really serious about training, but it doesn't feel intimidating. Everybody is just focused on their own thing. The gym is kept up pretty well. Not perfect, but clean enough where it's comfortable to work out. Staff is cool. They're there if you need something, but they're not in your face, which I prefer. Only downside is peak hours can get crowded, especially around after work hours, so you might have to adjust your timing if you want a smoother workout. Overall, it's a reliable gym. Nothing over the top, but it has everything you need to stay on track and get results. Definitely a solid choice if you're in the area.

Future of Fitness - The Fit Games is a 5k obstacle race with 12 fitness exercises within the run. It was a great event. See more pics on Facebook.

The regular peloton cardio and Planet Fitness just wasn't getting me where I wanna go. This place has been fantastic so far. As someone who has never really lifted weights, the trainers and owner has been fantastic at instructing the correct way to lift. They have two major programs as well as an open gym option. The programs are led by a trainer, one being team training, one being small group training. If you have not been working out lately, you will leave gassed. You will be sore. The workouts are about an hour long. I have been going about 3-4 days a week which has given me enough time to recover between workouts. Bring a towel and water bottle, my first workout was free. They do have shower facilities if you are coming from or going to work. And bonus... the showers are clean. The folks I have met here have been super friendly and welcoming. Ownership has also been very welcoming and motivating. If your looking for a new place to workout, definitely check these guys out... so far I am very happy I did...

I felt at ease as soon as I walked in the door. The boot camps are available daily. The trainers are extremely personable. I admit I love to hate them during my workouts but I feel so good a little bit after they end. Mac, Emily, and Bill are fantastic! I'm down 6 lbs, feel stronger and surprised myself by accomplishing some of the exercises I never thought I could do. I just started my 3rd week looking forward to meeting more goals I've set for myself. I've finally found a gym home. It's never too late to live your best life. I'm on my way!. Thanks guys!

FLMD popped up on my Instagram timeline as a free 6 week challenge - so bet I was there. There is a consultation, weigh in, and tour. I met with Nevie the gym owner who explained that the challenge is free after you invest in yourself for an undisclosed about. You meet the challenge and you get your money back. I didn't have anything to lose so I joined. I must admit that Nevie worked to figure out why I was not getting the weekly emails and meal plans. So if joined through any META platform (Instagram/Facebook) the emails will be sent to that registered email address. Things that were not transparent to me were: the class schedule not being readily available, the link to view the workouts online so I could join from home, who I should report my weekly weight. I moved to Maryland and was looking for a personal trainer, when I stumbled upon Thrive. I emailed for information and Coach Josh got right back to me. He told me to come in and try a class. I was immediately welcomed into the gym by the coaches and other members, who are now friends! The atmosphere is encouraging (high fives are required), inspiring (there is a daily motivational message/story) and fun. They mix up the workouts daily so you never get bored and there are always challenges, where healthy competition keeps you motivated. They even do bonus workouts where you can donate to support the community and different charities! For more than a year now, I am a regular at a number of classes and I love the pool. My guests always enjoy the treadmills and weight machines as well. Staff is friendly and helpful, and the instructors are all incredible. It's a pleasant, clean place with a non-judgy vibe. Truly all ages and workout levels. My only request for management would be to turn off so many cable news broadcasts over by the treadmills. Working out should feel like a healthy escape, so less political news (or none at all!) would help lower my blood pressure even more. :)

Strongly do not recommend LA Fitness personal training…read more My husband had been an LA Fitness member for years. When we renewed, we were offered a "free" fitness assessment that turned into a high-pressure sales pitch for personal training. The trainer (Ryan) claimed he doesn't try to sell training, then brought over his supervisor when I expressed hesitation. We were sold a "modified" plan and were explicitly told we could cancel for any reason if something happened, no questions asked. This was not the case. During my first training session, I nearly passed out and became very unwell for the next couple of days. I am now under medical evaluation (possible POTS) that limits my ability to exercise. My doctors provided notes and a formal letter. Despite this: * We were told to come in person to cancel, then turned away twice * Staff claimed they couldn't locate the trainer or wouldn't cancel due to a "holiday," even while present * Management ultimately stated cancellation was impossible unless I was permanently disabled Even my physician was shocked by how this was handled. If you're considering personal training here: get every promise in writing or don't sign at all. What is said during the sales process does not match how cancellations are handled.
