Very knowledgeable trainer, you learn a lot in each class. Fun self defense class and a good workout.

Classes are about 1hr and you are sweating the whole time. Jonese is a great trainer and keeps me motivated the entire time! I highly recommend you come and try out the classes, you will be HOOKED.

Long overdue review, where do I begin?…read more It is very hard finding a personal trainer with their own gym/studio in the upper Marlboro/Clinton/Waldorf area. I found Johnnie Boi Fitness (after the birth of my son and when I was in desperate need of a new community of associates and support). After the website and investigating a la Google, I still needed a push. I begged my husband to gift me my first set of classes. My husband is a negotiating fool. Anyone that can patiently work with him is talented. After his initial call, he called me and said, "I have a feeling you're really going to like this trainer." I do. I love Jonese and the Johnnie Boi Fitness team. What I love most is: 1) Smaller classes that allow for more one-on-one attention. I tend to be disordered and sometimes lacking confidence. I need my trainer to check on me a little. When you're standing behind 25 other people, that can be hard to do. At Johnnie Boi Fitness, it's just the right amount of personalized attention to correct you, push you a little harder and to make sure you're not injuring yourself 2) Guest instructors/class variety - Jonese offers a wide variety of classes. Perfect for someone like me who gets bored eating leftovers. Patrons can try new classes, be it yoga or boxing. These classes can be taught by other fitness experts. This allows you to throw a curve ball in your routine and not hit a plateau. Also, I like a one-stop-shop type of gym without the big Walmart feel---easy to get in, get out, work out and go. Not spend an hour looking for a parking spot, searching inside for the location of your class, and when you get there, everyone is ho hum *yawn*. Ohhh and did I mention that one day, we had hydrolyzed protein shakes made for us post workout. Sooooo good! 3) No worries if you forget something - Just like Hilton, if you forget a toothbrush, the front desk has you covered. Jonese does provide water, towels (very nice ones might I add--and nice hand towels), mats, etc. I try to remember my own supplies, but sometimes, my mind plays tricks on me. Nice to know I won't have to wipe my sweat with my sleeve. 4) Common sense - Jonese has a lot of it. The classes I attend weekly are challenging, but I'm not concerned that I'll have to get knee replacements by age 40. Over the past decade, the number of knee replacements has increased by more than 160%. I'm not concerned that my knees, hips and other joints will require major surgery because Jonese made me do 150 burpees in 10 minutes. 5) Fresh Air - we workout outside too. Nice change of scenario. I'm learning new techniques and workout strategies 6) Cost- Jonese is EXTREMELY reasonable with the cost of her classes for first timers and ongoing patrons. Affordability will never be a concern. In fact, Jonese is very accommodating, humble, friendly, compassionate, intelligent, and professional. 7) The equipment and bathrooms are ALWAYS clean. Lockers are provided to store my purse and other items. 8) The music is respectable- I'm not easily offended and don't care either way, but I love that I can bring my aunts or others to class with me and they won't hear derogatory language. I'm used to working out to Luke "I wanna rock" at home so even if Jonese decided to play a little Future or Tupac, I'm in there. Client for life! I thought I would be intimidated at first and chicken out. Best decision ever was joining Johnnie Boi Fitness! I'm very happy!

Wonderful community -- supportive and friendly staff and other gym goers are motivating. They had been encouraging me to sign up, and I was looking forward to having built-in accountability partners to help me stay consistent on my fitness journey. We had already started working out together and even took a few group fitness classes, which made going to the gym something I actually looked forward to. Unfortunately, my experience took a disappointing turn. During one of my workouts, my friend was simply showing me how to use a machine that I wasn't familiar with. We were approached by an employee and told that helping me was prohibited. As someone who was new and still learning, that interaction left me feeling embarrassed and unwelcome. For many people, starting a fitness journey is intimidating enough without feeling like you can't lean on the friends who encouraged you to take that first step. That moment left a bad taste in my mouth and completely changed how I felt about the gym. I ultimately decided to cancel my membership because I no longer felt comfortable or supported in that environment. It's unfortunate because I truly wanted this to be the place where I built healthier habits with the people motivating me to succeed.

She was incredibly welcoming from the start and guided us through every part of the class with clear, supportive instruction. What stood out most was her attention to detail. I definitely felt the burn and got a good stretch in, but it never felt overwhelming or intimidating. If you're looking for a more intimate setting where you can actually get personalized attention, this is a great spot. Highly recommend, especially for beginners or anyone easing back into Pilates.

Planet fitness employee working behind the counter told me anywhere you go you must use their Wi-Fi at the doctor's office at the drugstore. I try to explain to her "that" isn't true, if you have your own Wi-Fi service on your phone. Why is my Wi-Fi service being blocked. It is unsafe to use public Wi-Fi service. I choose not to use it. That's why I pay for my own Wi-Fi service on my phone. I've been a customer of planet fitness for many years this just started I was able to use my own Wi-Fi service when I first started at planets fitness. Not ture below I did all of this my Wi-Fi was blocked Planet Fitness requires you to use their Wi-Fi and app to generate a rotating QR code for two primary reasons: to prevent non-members from using the gym's Wi-Fi and to securely manage gym check-ins with your digital barcode. However, you are completely right that your phone's cellular data works on its own--businesses cannot block your personal cellular service. If you are unable to use your cellular data for your app, you can take these steps to check in and avoid using the public Wi-Fi:Turn off your Wi-Fi entirely: If your Wi-Fi is left on but you are disconnected from the gym's network, your phone will try to search for and connect to free signals. Disable Wi-Fi in your settings to force your phone to use your cellular data.Request an alternative check-in: If you do not want to download their app or use their network, you can ask the front desk to look you up manually using your phone number, or request a physical key tag.Use a VPN: If you choose to use their Wi-Fi, you can secure your personal data by running a Virtual Private Network (VPN) on your phone.

Being a woman you can feel so intimated and uncomfortable going to the normal local gyms in the area, but you don't have to worry about that feeling anymore at HFF! At first I was a bit intimated, but once I got into a groove it has been a great journey so far. I'm on my second month and I'm glad to be a part of the HFF family!
