Wonderful atmosphere and great food. Warm fire near our table and a friendly wait staff. Celebrated my wife's birthday here during our first trip to Ireland. Delicious seafood cottage pie. Highly recommended.

Afterwards we thought we might want a pint (hair of the dog!) and our designated driver wondered if there was such a thing as proper coffee in this part of the country, so we were left with pondering which of the pubs would stare at us less on entry. Frightened away from other pubs we were mollified by the lavazza sign outside Nevilles and went in to find and friendly atmosphere and a lovely blend of modern and traditional. After ordering pints, water, crisps and coffee, we had a look at the food menu. We weren't really hungry as we'd recently had a huge brunch, but the menu looked so good we tried a few things. I had a totally gorgeous rice pudding and one of our party had the garlic mushrooms - this only left us feeling even more sorry that we couldn't stay for a meal. Everything was lovely, especially the open fire and friendly service. We made a note to pop in for a proper meal when next in the area. Dusk and fog began to descend so we headed for home!

There were lots of tables in the sun and pretty flower boxes scattered about. No camera with me so unfortunately no photos this trip!! The menu is quite vast, offering the usual pub grub, grill (steaks, lamb, chicken, burgers), sandwiches, soup, chowder, garlic mushrooms and the like, but have a smaller than expected choice of fish dishes. They also have a vegetarian option (pasta based) which was on the daily specials sheet and so probably changes throughout the year, and a kids menu. Our party ordered a selection of beef burgers, cod and chips/mash, the blt, and the lamb along with some pints. They have a selection of Irish beer and O'haras on tap. The cod was well prepared, fresh and with tasty batter but a wee bit heavier than I personally like. I got mash and salad instead of chips and it was lovely. I did sample the chips (can never resist one or two!) and they were crisp and fresh too, tasted homemade, but I could be mistaken. Deserts too were winners with the Eton mess coming in first for me - anything that utilises the local strawberries of Wexford is a winner in my book! Wasn't sure what to expect, but lesson learnt; don't judge by appearances. Friendly and relaxed service (which hopefully remains when they are busier), great quality food, but don't expect anything out of the ordinary if you are vegetarian or vegan as there's not much on offer, or at least wasn't when we visited!

em, we may have caused a scandal in Wellingtonbridge. Us three ladies decided to go for an early…read moreevening pint before dinner. We were faced with the usual delimma of not knowing what pub to go into in rural ireland. This one was right in front of us so we sauntered on in. There was no-one in the lounge so we switched to the bar area. We ordered pints and were the object of much staring. The bar had just a few patrons, some seemed normal, and other seemed like characactures! The sight of three women in a pub even led to the barman getting our order wrong. I'm used to the pub/shop combo in rural ireland, but something I've never seen before is a pub/estate agents. We couldn't help wonder if some people come home from a night on a bender and realise that instead of chips, their 3am purchase was actually a house! The scandal we caused happened when the rugby match came on. Only one of our number was into watching it, and we were annoying her. So she sent us out to buy some cans while she watched the last 10 mins of the first half - the plan was to get home for the second half. As two of us left we heard the murmur start, and it got louder when our friend was there on her own. "they've left one behind, they've left one behind" begain to reverberate all over the bar with increasing degrees of distress (probably not helped by her shouting at the tv!) In the end she left and joined us in our discovery that the shop at the garage only sold wine and not beer! We went back to the bar to buy take out cans. This absence and return seemed to give the punters time to pluck up the courage to talk to us, and attempt to get their twinkly eyes working. Needless to say we got the hell out of there as soon as we got our booze... and I went home to the delimma of how to cook when sightly sozzled. I would give one star, but you know you have to give it an extra star for the twilight zone experience!
