Great paring with the hojicha which has a good depth to it in itself. -coffee latte Not too strong coffee taste as they use a coffee syrup as opposed to actual coffee. The marzcopone adds a nice sweetness to it, especially in the aftertaste. -thai tea roll cake Prominent thai tea flavor and not overly sweet. Found this place through yelp and decided to give it a try. Went here on a Saturday a few minutes after they opened and got a strawberry matcha latte. It was good, the matcha taste isn't bitter but was strong enough that it didn't just taste like oatmilk, which I personally like. However, this also meant that the caffeine hit hard, so I got jittery after drinking 50% of it. I am a bit sensitive to caffeine though, so this might not be the case for others. I loved how rich the coffee taste was in the cake and the cream was not overly sweet. The sesame latte had a very strong sesame flavor, but I wish there was a version where we could add espresso. My friends got a matcha roll cake, a hojicha basque cheesecake, a coffee cream latte, and a strawberry hojicha latte. Again, the matcha roll cake had a defined matcha taste and it was both light and flavorful. I've never tried a basque cheesecake, but the hojicha one was quite tasty. After circling the block twice, I was able to find the location and my third lap. It's behind the Drunken Monk and the sign is underneath theirs, so although large, it was hard to see as there was a tree or something blocking it. The parking is very tight in the back. The place itself is very cute, comfortable and clean. The ordering is simple, and the time to fulfill it was very quick. I ordered the black sesame and matcha roll cakes. The black sesame was $1.50 more than the matcha but not sure why. On first sniff, I could smell the black sesame but there was a barely noticeable taste. Overall the cake was tender and the filling nice, it just didn't deliver any special flavor especially for the price. The matcha role had much more flavor but for $6, it was a slight bit too small. Was looking for dessert after lunch and saw this place nearby. It offered roll cakes and drinks, which sounded like a perfect snack. Unfortunately, they were out of the thai tea roll cake, which we were looking forward to, but we were able to get the hojicha roll cake slice ($6.5), black sesame roll cake slice ($8), thai tea ($5), and strawberry chrysanthemum tea ($6.5). The hojicha roll cake was my favorite. The tea flavor was delicious and strong in both the cake and cream. The black sesame roll cake was also strong flavorwise but seemed too much, if that's possible. It still tasted good but was heavier. For both, I think more cake would be better since there is so much cream proportion wise. I was excited about the strawberry chrysanthemum tea because I usually get strawberry fruit teas and chrysanthemum tea isn't something I usually see. The chrysanthemum flavor was very prominent, which I liked. I do wish the strawberry flavor was stronger though. It was hard to taste the strawberry. There are also chrysanthemum flowers in the tea, which are not the greatest to drink and chew. The thai tea was pretty decent. Good tea flavor and not too sweet. Not the best that I've had. The store is fairly small but cute and clean. You order on a tablet and them wait for your name to be called. The desserts are on display so you can see what can be ordered. I enjoyed the roll cakes but they are quite pricey for how small the slice is. I'm not sure if the roll cakes are prepared in-house but the food and drinks came out really quick. I had a chance to try their cakes today and I was blown away. I ordered a slice of the black sesame cake and a slice of the Thai tea. I enjoyed both. I don't know the formal terms for these, but based on experience: The cream was creamy, not chunky or watery, a good in between. The cake itself was nice and poofy. These textures were just the way I like them. The flavor profiles matched the flavor that they aimed to be. I could definitely taste the black sesame and the Thai tea was like biting into a glass of Thai tea. Well done recreating the flavors. A very much hole in the wall kind of cafe very close to the Caltrain Menlo Park station. I had their matcha latte, matcha basque cheesecake, hojicha roll cake. Matcha Latte: definitely does not hold back on the matcha. I've had a lot of matcha lattes from various cafes and definitely holds its own. I got 50% sweet but I probably would have been fine with 30 or less. Matcha Basque Cheesecake: a great treat. Softer inner cheesecake and a more solid crust. If you've never had a basque cheesecake, think in between a regular NY style cheesecake (baked) and a Rare Cheesecake. Flavor-wise I didn't get as much matcha as I thought but vibrant color from the matcha. Hojicha roll cake: probably my favorite out of my purchase. Hojicha (roasted green tea) infused cake with both a regular and hojicha whipped cream filling. VERY strong hojicha flavor from both the cake and the cream. They do online orders as well as preorders for whole roll cakes. I did an online order and it was ready within minutes (they will hold in the refrigerator until pickup). The interior itself reminded me a lot of the small cafes in the suburbs. Simple minimalistic design, a couple of tables, counter seating. No A/C from what I could tell. This is definitely a place to relax and enjoy what they have to offer vs other locations where it's full of loud music and chatter. read more

Today, I had an especially great customer service experience at Temp & Time. I had accidentally ordered duplicates of a few items ahead of time and only noticed when I came to pick them up. I came with my friends on a Saturday at around noon and it was really quiet, perfect for small groups and working/studying.
