We heard they ae known for their Asian soft roll cakes. We ordered 3 desserts to share. Black Sesame Roll Cake, so soft and filled with rich white cream and sesame cream. Hojicha Burnt Basque Cheesecake was very rich, nutty and roasty. Hojicha Custard Pudding is smooth and light.

Love this store so much! Wish they closed later. Thai tea roll- 9/10 string Thai tea flavor - sweet- doesn't rlly tap into the bitter tea flavor but more the classic Thai tea sweetened drink Black sesame - 10/10 impressed everyone. Fine grounded black sesame but still a little grit for texture. Very strong natural black sesame taste. Matcha roll - 10/10 stunning flavor. Taste just like raw ceremonial grade matcha. Not excessively sweet a bit more on the strong matcha flavor less sugar. Delicious. Very strong flavor though. One roll is enough Coffee roll - 9/10 not bad standard mocha cake similar to paris baguette cappuccino cake. Classic mocha flavor Pink white sesame - 7/10 not my favorite. White cream is the white sesame and the pink is an artificial strawberry flavor. Overall taste like pocky.

I have been very excited to try this place, but I've been holding off because holy moly the price is for a slice of roll cake kind of put me off. I'm used to Asian bakeries where the whole roll was maybe eight dollars, but I couldn't pass up the flavors that temp and time offered. I'm a sucker for tea flavored desserts, so they got me. You have to really pay attention when turning into their parking lot because it's easy to miss the driveway. I just ordered for pick up on their website,, and that was pretty simple. It's a small shop with very minimal seating so I'd say it's a safer bet to just take it home. All in all, I don't regret getting these cakes. They were a nice sweet treat for myself for my birthday, and it was fun to get a variety pack. I tried Matcha, Thai tea, Hojicha, espresso black sesame. I liked all of them, and the tea flavors were very forward, which I appreciated. The cream was a bit odd, the Matcha and Thai tea seemed to be regular cream, but the espresso, black sesame cream was almost gelatinous? And with the cakes that have half tea cream and half plain cream, I wish they were slightly more even? It was hard to get an equal bite of cream with cake. The cake itself was nice and light, yet also a little bit dense, similar to Japanese roll cakes. Would I try them again? The answer is yes. If they introduce another flavor that I'm really interested in, then I'm still a sucker and I would try it again.

Tucked away and a bit easy to miss from the main road. Parking is limited, though there is a very small lot if you're lucky enough to snag a spot. The space itself is dainty yet cozy. I'd recommend ordering to-go, as it can get pretty busy inside. It's also best to come earlier in the day when their full selection of pastries is still available. My friends and I tried a few drinks and everyone really enjoyed them. I'd definitely stop by again whenever I'm in the neighborhood.

Cute little tea shop in Menlo Park! While small, it's bustling! There were many customers coming in and out while I was hanging out with a friend here, and I can see why! I ordered the hojicha strawberry latte with light ice and sugar. It's pretty much what you would expect from a hojicha strawberry latte, with the roastedness of the hojicha being balanced by the strawberry. It was a little light end on the roasted-ness though, but overall not too sweet. They also have a handful of various flavor roll cakes and cheesecakes, which I didn't try this time around. The interior is limited to 4 tables (each seating 2 people) and a handful of single-seating seats. They do not have WiFi available, if you were planning to bring a laptop to do work. Parking is extremely difficult as there's like 2-3 actual parking spots (otherwise it's very tight parallel parking along the very small driveway). Best option is street parking on El Camino (limited) or one street up on San Antonio St (more availability).

Cute little cafe with aesthetic drinks and desserts. It is on the smaller side. There is maybe 4 tables and a bar seating by the window. There is a small/narrow parking lot shared with the restaurant next door. I stopped by here at around 2pm on Sunday. Was sad that most of the dessert items were already sold out! The only options were the black sesame roll cake, coffee roll cake, and hojicha pudding so we got those. I got the strawberry chrysanthemum tea while my friend got the rose lychee drink. Both were good and not too sweet. The texture of the cakes were perfectly soft. The cake was also very moist and the cream filling inside was good. I could taste the flavor of the sesame and coffee. I also enjoyed the hojicha pudding.

Tucked behind Drunkin Monk, a small, calm spot with cute Japanese-style décor and a chill atmosphere. You order at a kiosk, wander for a bit, and they call your name when it's ready. I tried the hojicha strawberry latte at 30% sugar. Good flavor, but sweeter than I like since I forgot the strawberry purée brings its own sugar. Next time I'm going 0%. The hot black sesame latte with oat milk (also 30%) was the standout. Warm, balanced, and genuinely comforting. I also grabbed the limited black sesame and espresso pudding roll cake. Moist, bouncy, great sesame flavor, and the espresso pudding inside was delicious. Pricey, but at least it tastes like effort. Drinks and desserts aren't cheap, but the portions are big enough that it feels fair. Overall, a relaxed spot with solid drinks and a roll cake worth repeating.

I've seen this place when I dined next door and finally got to try it with my friend. The parking situation sucks because the parking lot behind the building is extremely small and usually fill up fast with customers for the restaurant next door. I ended up parking along El Camino Real instead of turning into the parking lot. I got less sweet for the strawberry matcha and it was honestly still way too sweet. It might be the strawberry syrup but the drink was too sweet and the matcha flavor wasn't really strong. The inside is nice though. A great spot for studying or just catching with friends.

If you love great quality matcha and desserts that are super fluffy, moist, unique, and "not too sweet" I highly recommend giving Temp & Time a try! This very small and intimate cafe is a hidden gem in Downtown Mountain View. It's perfect for studying or just catching up with a friend. There are about three tables and a few bar seats at this location. Since this place has limited hours, I recommend coming here around opening (12 pm) b/c some flavors of roll cakes usually sell out pretty fast. Also, beware, this cafe is located in a small alley way (next to Drunken Monk), so the parking situation is VERY crammed. Be prepared to parallel park in a tiny area or park around a neighboring business to get here. During my most recent visit, I had a strawberry matcha latte w/ oatmilk and shared a thai tea and matcha roll cake with a friend. The matcha latte was smooth, deep green, grassy, and slightly sweet (50%). The strawberry puree added a nice touch of sweetness and didn't taste artificial. However, the star of the show here were the roll cakes! The thai tea roll cake melted in my mouth and had a perfectly soft and airy texture. The matcha roll cake was vibrant green and had a strong matcha flavor. I really enjoyed the marbling of both fresh whipped cream and flavored cream in each roll. It was done very well and looked beautiful! If you love matcha and Asian-fusion desserts, please give this place a try! I will be back here to try more of their delicious treats c:

Flavor (4/5): Tried their black sesame latte which was caffeine free! Very nutty sesame flavor without being overly roasted. Not grainy either. Pairs well with another milk sub (oat, almond). Their hojicha cake was also decent! Moist and the cream was very flavorful. Instagram Worthy (5/5): From the parking lot and exterior of this place you don't expect it to be as cute as it is! Very Japanese/Korean cafe inspired for the seating, lighting hits right during golden hour! Cute cafe to get some pics in. Service (4/5): Self order on the kiosk, drinks came out pretty quick! Takeaways: Parking lot in the back is definitely challenging as it's not enough space. Cafe itself is small with limited seating when it gets busy. Very vibey tho!

Got the hojicha strawberry latte. Pretty solid drink. Very limited parking so I would recommend parking on the street and walking in. Cozy little place with maybe 10-15 seating.

A small aesthetic cafe located behind Drunken Monk. I recommend coming early as most of the drinks we wanted to try were already out of stock by 1pm. There's a kiosk at the front next to a fridge displaying roll cakes and desserts. They looked so good we were so tempted to buy a cake, maybe next time! We ordered a strawberry matcha latte, hojicha strawberry latte, and a coffee cream latte. Highly recommend getting the hojicha strawberry latte. The coffee was too milky and the matcha was lost in the strawberry matcha latte. Since the drinks were on the pricier side, we definitely expected more. Our drinks came out a few minutes after ordering. The cafe is fairly quiet so it'd be a prime spot if you're looking for a place to study or get work done.

The shop is very tucked away so it's easily to miss the turn. Parking is also limited. Ambiance is nice, clean and quiet. For me it's a bit too quiet since there isnt any background music. So it's a bit awkward for friends catching up. More for studying i would say since there's quite some good spaces and tables. There isnt any ordering experience since you order on the tablet. But the staff seems very attentive and accesible if you have any questions. For food and drinks, I dont have much to say. We got the hojicha and it's just okay. 30% sweet yet still too sweet for us. We also got the jasmine tea with house milk. Jasmine is definitely overbrewed since its so bitter at the end. I would say drinks are pricey for its quality. Cakes are decent. A tad bit sweet but acceptable for being a good treat once in a while. I was really tempted with their cheesecakes so i might come back for them.

You pay about 8 dollars for a drink or soft serve, and if you ask for light ice they still pack it with ice and honestly you get hardly any drink, secondly lately the lady that made my cone the last few times likes to do a big circle and leave a big hole in the soft serve which also now leaves you with less / hardly any ice cream for your money. Most importantly I had the worst customer service from her this last visit. It was so bad another lady waiting for her items asked for her name and told her the same things I was saying. I have to say the day I went in, the young lady working the register was very sweet and helpful. Hats off to her for knowing what customer service is. Most importantly, the older lady working drinks and the soft serve machine about 1:30 ish ( name might be vaung? Didn't hear after when I walked away) today was rude as all can be and so unprofessional!!! Her alone makes me not want to go back. I ordered 2 drinks and a soft serve. My order was called out. when I went to retrieve it, It was missing the soft serve and the one drink didn't have the soft serve in it either. I told her my order is missing two things and she yells out this is order 2. I said it's wrong and she pushes the drinks towards me. I explained again what's wrong and she proceeded to help someone else. Comes back and says this is your order. I pull out my receipt and say there's no soft serve cone or soft serve in the drink, and may I please have a bag for the drinks. She goes to make my cone finally, gives me my cone and again I have to say there's no soft serve in the drink. She looks at the drink like I'm lying and then inspected the drink to see if there was any. smh ... literally looks at the drink and starts shaking it to see if there's any. Then finally does go to take care of it. She comes back with it. I asked for a bag again and then she says I need to charge you. Mind you, i'm holding the cone in one hand and the two drinks in my other arm against my chest . Whether or not you're supposed to charge is beyond the point it's the fact that she never apologized. It took more than once to get this right and then you're gonna make me go pay for a bag separately when my hands are full with two drinks and an ice cream cone on top of it. It was the way she handled it all. She was rude!!!! On top of it, then another lady actually proceeded to complain about her because she was rude to her as well, and she laughed at us, like it was okay for her to be rude or whatever we're saying was a joke. Worst customer service I've ever had in there and I felt this is something that should be mentioned. on top of it lastly she left a nice big hole in the middle of my cone so I barely got any ice cream. Might not care because I'm just one person, but they just lost a customer. Maybe two from what I saw today. Do better!! With all the other business around if someone is choosing to come in to your establishment, they should not be treated rude. Looking at some of the other reviews as well, I see the ice thing and bag thing has been repeated. If you know someone's order multiple things and you see they are alone. Maybe ask will you need a bag before hand. Not when they have everything handed to them and then say I need to charge you. I tried to call the management to bring this to them first and there's no answer on the phone or the email I sent over. Maybe they don't care either.

My family and I stopped by Marvel Cake during Mother's Day for a sweet treat on Sunday. This location is in the strip of Downtown Palo Alto and has limited parking (similar to the rest of the stores there, there is a lot of parking, and you will need to get lucky). My mom does like the Marvel Cake in their first location, so we swung by here to try this one out! Location-wise, this is a smaller shop than the original one in West San Jose with limited seating inside. I would say it's not work from home friendly however, I did see a college student next to me on her laptop so maybe I am incorrect here! The interior is nice and light, matching the elegance of the desserts. We ordered three items on the menu: the pillow cake, the bisou, and the blueberry lavender roll. Here are some thoughts: * Pillowcase cake: It may seem like this would be a fluffy cake due to the nature of its shape, but it is a gelatinous Jell-O cake with fruit jam. It was not bad, and tasted refreshing and light. I didn't know if I liked it at first, but ultimately I did come back for seconds and thirds, so this is approved. * Blueberry lavender roll cake: This was not at all what we were expecting. I did not taste any lavender, nor did it have a strong blueberry flavor. I think what threw our party off was the layer of gelatin that surrounded the cake. Texturally, we were not a big fan. * Bisou: This one was our favorite one. I appreciated the nutty crust in the bottom layer of the cake, while the filling was soft and bouncy. It is very sweet, however, but overall, I really enjoyed this one and feel like it would go great with a cup of coffee. What made the experience here a 3 instead of a 4 or 5 was the service we got. We weren't greeted when we came in, which, to be fair, is totally fine, maybe they were busy. However, the person helping us stared at us the whole time and did not really communicate well with us. When I tried to order the cakes for my family, they looked bothered that we were there, and I was not sure if they understood what pastries I was ordering because they did not repeat it back to us at all or confirm anything. When I did place the order, they slowly grabbed the plates and looked visually confused, which again, if they wanted to, I could have repeated it back to them. After they gathered everything, they put it in front of us and rang me up. The whole time, they did not say a word to me at all. Did not reconfirm anything, did not acknowledge we were there, did not say thank you. It was a bit strange, and I had to check with my family if it was me or if that was a really weird experience (it wasn't me).

And also located in a very adorable shopping/restaurant grid, so the surrounding shops and streets are also so nice to walk around in! I was overwhelmed with the delicious options in flavors for the coconut pudding desserts! From persimmon (my favorite), to durian, to mango sticky rice, to black sesame...oh my god asian flavor galore. My friend and I got several flavors because we couldn't just pick one! We tried: Persimmon Mochi - This was my absolute favorite. The mochi at the top wasn't chewy by any means, but it had such a nice goopy mouth feel that was very different from the tofu-like pudding. The persimmon itself was so fresh and sweet, just simply addicting. I loved it so much I ordered another one to bring home. Durian - If you like durian, you'll like this. While the flavor was delicious and fresh, I wasn't particularly wowed because all the other flavors seemed to have some extra huzzah going for it. The durian one was mainly some mashed durian on top of the coconut pudding, without any pomp and circumstance. Don't get me wrong, still delicious, just a bit more straightforward than I expected. Mango Sticky Rice - LOVED this one!! This was a 3 layer dessert, with mango at the top, coconut pudding in the middle, and purple sticky rice at the bottom. The rice was an excellent chew texture, and the layered spoonfuls were divine! I would definitely get this flavor again!!! Black Sesame - I loved how the black sesame portion on the top was its own texture/consistency! I liked how thick it was, and fragrant. We also ordered the corn latte and the matcha cloud! The corn one was bit too grainy for me, especially towards the latter half, but the matcha cloud was SO good. The matcha was a deep earthy flavor, definitely quality! And the cream at the top was to die for. The interior is so adorable, and very comfortable to sit and catch up with a friend in! The staff is so nice, and I love that with every order, they hand you a cute little paper bag with utensils and napkins already set in it. Everything was just packaged in such a careful and whimsical way. Just such a treasure of a desert spot! There is a 3hr free parking garage only a block away. Finding that authentic Turkish taste here truly makes us so happy--it's exactly what we miss and love. What also makes this place special is the team. There are two staff members we see regularly, and they are incredibly attentive and detail-oriented. They provide such high-quality service, even on very busy days. The coffees they make are delicious, and I've noticed how they take care of guests so thoughtfully--sometimes even right at your table. Huge applause to both of them--they're doing an amazing job!

My matcha latte looked like the matcha had never been properly whisked--there were visible clumps throughout the drink. We showed both drinks to a girl from the staff who was walking around the café. She acknowledged the issue, said they were busy, and told us someone would help us shortly. No one ever did. After waiting and being completely ignored, we got up and left. It was an unnecessarily unpleasant and dismissive experience. A bit more professionalism and follow-through would go a long way. Otherwise, you're welcome to keep things as amateur as they were today--since we won't be coming back anyway!!!

Loved the crusty toast and strawberry jam offering. A beautiful setting with views of the Western hills. I don't approve of the "extra tax". It is petty and not fitting for an elegant establishment. Build it into your food price and spare me the drama.

I ordered my favorite, the Mini Lobster Rolls (topped with Petrossian Imperial Kaluga Caviar and creme fraiche, all nestled in a super buttery brioche roll that had a nice crisp exterior to it; the lobster was fresh and yummy) and the Grilled Shrimp (dressed in lemon, butter, garlic, and Calabrian chilis; comes with 6 large pieces). I also had the Chinese Chicken Salad, which came with napa cabbage, carrots, and fried wontons, dressed in a sesame soy vinaigrette; this usually comes with cilantro, but opted out. Everything came out fresh and tasty, and the staff were attentive and checked-in often. The place does get busy, so be sure to make a reservation! The monthly special flavors are always exciting and give you a good reason to come back regularly. Personal favorites include the Coffee and Love Nuts flavor and the Nuts and Chocolate Gooey Brownie, both rich and very satisfying. Another highlight is the freshly baked waffle cones and waffle cups, which add great texture and aroma to the overall experience. The staff are consistently courteous and welcoming, and they are happy to offer samples, so do not hesitate to try a few flavors before deciding. Portion sizes can be quite generous, and at times the regular scoop feels too big, so opting for a kids scoop can be a good choice.

We sat outside on the patio (lots of outdoor seating, not much indoor space) and it was a super sunny chill vibe. Parking was easy too which is always a win. Service was really friendly and quick. We ordered the BLT sandwich, chicken sandwich, and the cream cheese + bacon bagel. Everything was good, nothing super mind blowing but solid and hit the spot. Portions are a bit on the smaller side and prices are definitely on the higher side for what you get. My latte was actually really good though. Overall I'd probably come back mostly because it's close by and convenient for a quick brunch / coffee stop, not necessarily a destination spot for me. Next time I'd try more of their bakery items since those looked better than expected from just walking in.
