3.5 stars but I'll round up! When it's one of about seven restaurants in this locale, it's the stand-out. We were here on a Friday after a morning of rock-washing at Crater of Diamonds and needed a reprieve from the brutal heat. I had the Ranchero Special with chicken and my dining companion had 3 street tacos - Al Pastor and carne asada. First, the staff were gracious and efficient. Our server was particularly attentive while not being intrusive. The decor might seem gaudy, but I've seen similar at other Mexican restaurants with excellent food. It was a nice change of atmosphere after having spent a couple hours in gray, dust-brown troughs of mud and gravel, shoveling piles of rocks into a bucket to be washed in a vat of murky gritty water. Some reviewers have said the salsa was just plain tomatoey, but I really liked it -- it had some light heat and is similar to what I've had at many Arizona Sonoran-style Mexican restaurants. Maybe those reviewers were expecting jars of Chi Chi's or Pace-not-"made in New York City!?"-Picante. The Ranchero Special was fine. The flavor profile was a little one dimensional, particularly with their white queso on it. The sliced tomatoes added a bit of acidic balance to that. My dining companion said her corn tortilla street tacos were pretty tasty. The pork in the al pastor had a little fat in it, but there were also a few good chunks of sautéed pineapple there. We also had a limonado drink which was very refreshing and delicious. Overall, a good place to have a meal if you're in Murfreesboro, AR and have nowhere else to go. read more

Mexican food in Arkansas . Telingas does a version of what most would call Tex Mex. Salsa very different than what I experienced growing up in California. It was tomato and oregano. I couldn't make out the pepper they used in it. I enjoyed my steak fajitas but it was very hard to distinguish it as steak. It was very tender and cut into very small pieces. It was good but a little under seasoned . Just needed a little salt and it was perfect. Rice texture wise was spot on and again just needed a little salt and the same with the beans. A whole lot of beige. Restaurant was busy. Seated immediately, waitstaff was prompt, and attentive. The wait staff were almost running, and that created kind of a chaotic energy in the restaurant that was unpleasant. They don't need to move around the restaurant in an overly hurried manner, it took away from the service. One thing that I could see as an improvement to table service is that there are ways for staff to take an order so that they know which dish belongs to which customer at the table. Waiters should NOT come to a table with food and ask the customer what food belongs to who. The staff took the order they should know. This is a pet peeve of mine. When I worked at Denny's diner as a teenager, we were taught how to take an order at the table so that when the food came out, we knew who it belong to at the table, & women should be served first at the table. We also has a mango margarita and a strawberry margarita; they did not skimp on the tequila. The staff was very attentive and friendly. Prices were also reasonable. Wow I was so happy we decided to come here for dinner !!! The food was fast and delicious we ordered 4 meals and all of them where very large and filling!!! I would come here over and over. They are a dry county but they found a way to go around it and have the guests sign in as a private club to be able to drink and we where able to have some margaritas!!! Yum the service was great as we where greeted as soon as we walked in with chips and salsa and asked what we wanted to drink as soon as we sat down. We were out of town tourists looking for anywhere to dine late in the evening. PROS - The food was delicious, the service was great, orders were delivered super fast, the wait staff was really attentive to our every need. It had a warm white cheese sauce poured over the cold flour tortilla... I pulled the chicken out and ate it ... it was good , the beans and rice were good . Because both our meals were served with uncooked cold tortillas... I would never go back . I would never recommend. Service! Was fantastic! 3 people waiting on us in slow off peak time . We stopped here on our way out of diamond crater park. There seemed like a few pizza joints around which we didn't want so this stood out and won our $$. Positives first. The kitschy, decor. I loved it. I saw little touches in there that showed a lot of love went into this. Them drinks. Limonada for the win. Sweet and tang, refreshing after spending 2 hours in a "diamond" field "mining" for hard dirt. Service. Very nice. Attentive and friendly. Not so good :( Food. Not traditional Mexican. Queso is used liberally here. I got enchiladas topped with queso instead of roja or Verde. My wife had a ranchero special which was a shrimp and chicken rice dish also topped with queso! Our biggest complaint with the food was the lack of slices. It was on the blander side. Visually if you look at it it was plated well, with care and looked as good as a promo picture. Generous portions of seafood accompanied our dishes too so they don't skimp. I just wish they had more spice for flavor. The queso tends to mellow down whatever little spice they did have so it worked against the dishes imo. Anyway it was a fun stop and unlikely we will ever go by here again. My husband and I were in Arkansas for a weekend getaway staying at a nearby cabin. Came across this restaurant on Yelp and TikTok it was rated so well that we had to check the place out! The restaurant was very welcoming and the service was so fast. You are greeted the first time you come in. We ordered different kinds of tacos for food! We got La Camaron shrimp tacos, hubby got street taco with steak, carnitas taco, and Al Pastor Taco for our entree. Our starter was cheese dip and yes you served a good amount of chips and salsa. The salsa was so cute it was absolutely delicious. We LOVED the Al Pastor Taco it was so tasty and full of flavor. The environment and food was a definite 10/10. Came from out of town to visit Crater of Diamonds state park and this was the highest rated restaurant on yelp, so had to check it out!! This is your typical Mexican restaurant. The staff was friendly and the service was fast. I ordered the seafood burrito and it was delicious! I will say it had imitation crab, but if youre okay with that then you'll love it! This is a dry county, and one where you CANNOT order any kind of alcohol, even at a restaurant. Regardless I would eat here again if we were to pass through town! Here to visit the Crater of Diamonds (of course), and when we arrived in town we realized this is a dry county (for those who care). We arrived on a Wednesday and everything closed by 8, or they just didn't open during the afternoon/dinner time. So choices were limited. I wasn't feeling Mexican but my husband wasn't feeling southern food, which were the only two options. Talingas was opened the latest (9pm) and it was already 8 by the time we got in, so we chose to go there. Glad we did! Great service and great food! Fun atmosphere, I liked the butterflies on the ceiling. We noticed the next day that Talinga is all over town, and the only question we have is WHO IS TALINGA?!!? The service was great. Other than the good service, there was much to be desired. The salsa tasted like they'd opened a can of crushed tomatoes. I could eat Mexican food every day, but this one would be a quick pass. Salsa is typically hard to mess up at restaurants and ranges from just right with cilantro, onion, and a hint of heat, but our salsa was a big let down. There was no flavor. It tasted like plain tomatoes. Maybe they accidentally brought out some they'd not mixed up yet. We were so disappointed. The Chicken Mexicana was okay. The street tacos were not tasteful. This place is amazing! So glad we stopped and will be stopping by again tomorrow. The staff is second to none! The best service Iv had since Covid started. All three young men that we encountered were top notch. We started with the Queso Fundido and it was fabulous! It had sausage, chorizo, peppers and onions. That could easily be a meal in itself. I'm attaching a photo. I had beef fajitas and he had the Alambre- a plate that had beef, chicken, and bacon done like fajitas with the queso and it was amazing as well. Our servers Marco's and Tori were SUPER efficient and awesome! The food was good. Sadly, they were out of Chile relleno, my husbands favorite. I order vegetarian #D and asked that they add fajita peppers to the quesadilla and they were happy to do so. The bean burrito came with the queso on top, which I was super stoked about. My husband ordered the elote. I've never had it before and was shocked to learn that it has a strong smelly feet aroma. I made him eat it quickly because I could not handle the smell. He says that that's the cotija cheese and it's meant to smell like that. So, if you've never had it before and don't like stinky cheese, don't order this. He loved it!
