On the way to Bakersfield or Oakland this is my spot to stop, stretch, and definitely take a potty break. The restrooms are always clean, and there's always plenty of space to park. They have a couple of vending machines and a guy who sells fruit. Worth the stop.

I stop here every time I go over the grapevine. This is one of the few California rest areas that I can always count on to be open. It's a very sparse looking rest area. It's not the kind of place you want to stop and have lunch. There are just a few picnic tables, but again, I wouldn't recommend stopping here for a lunch break. It's almost always breezy or windy and it certainly isn't pretty. This rest area gets a lot of traffic, but they do a nice job of keeping it clean. There are two buildings that have men's and women's restrooms, one is on the left as you're walking from the car parking lot, and one is to the right. Almost everyone goes to the left. If you use the building on the right, it's much less crowded. There are some vending machines should you want to buy a snack or a soft drink. If you just need a quick stop to use the restroom or stretch, this rest area will do just fine.

We ALWAYS stop here on our way up to Fresno / Madera counties. It's been a couple years, (not by choice), since we've been up here, but it remains the same. Solitude and quiet... exactly what is needed in these wack ass times. Peaceful, serene, spot to stretch your legs, grab a snack, (via vending machines), or even during those unfortunate times, drop a deuce in the attached facilities. Restrooms are typically very clean, views surrounding the stop are absolutely amazing, and it's just a nice spot to stretch your legs... If you bring pets they can basically enjoy the facilities / amenities as us uprighters, sans the restrooms. (Help keep the area clean and bring your doggie doodie bags folks, please and thank you!). FYI... southbound rest stop is basically the same, just on the other side of the freeway.

During the great 2020 California flu scare finding an open bathroom while traveling the state can be difficult. Some rest stops were mysteriously closed but this one was open. Keep your eyes open for the sign. Easy to miss. CLEAN - SMALL - NICE AREA

A bit dated but does the job. The Tejon Pass rest area needs an upgrade but is a perfect stop for your needs. There are two buildings for the rest rooms and plenty of parking spots for autos and trucks. There are picnic benches, vending machines, grass areas for your pets. You also get a nice open plains view of Frazier Park. I'm sure it gets pretty cold during the winter time with the snow and rain. The rest area is right before you head down the hill to Grapevine going 5N or right after you climb the hill going 5S after the Tejon outlets.

Great place to stop and rest. We stopped and slept in our travel trailer for a few hours. Clean restrooms onsite.

Let's get into it. Property itself, as I said is very nice inside, updated and clean. No fee for parking each night and it comes with a free breakfast, which is always a great thing. The rooms are also nice, updated, not huge, but plenty of space, they have a fridge and coffee maker. Very comfortable, but also probably the main reason for the 3 stars. The bed was comfortable, but as I was sleeping, I started to itch a bit and then after my stay I was very itchy for a few days. Not sure what the deal was, but not a good thing. I washed all my bedsheets at home and showered a number of times to ensure whatever was in the bed was not with me any longer. As I said, I think after 2-3 days the itching was over and back to normal. Too bad, as I enjoyed my stay otherwise. The staff here was very friendly and the also had a small indoor pool and a small gym. These two things were great, but also contributed to my one less star, the pool looked nice, but looked to be due for a cleaning. The gym was great, everything I need, but only one bench and no multifunction weight machine, which is a downer. As I said, love Hilton, staff was great, free breakfast, free parking, nice rooms, great looking property, pool and gym. But the itching spell I had after prevented me from rating this one higher, that combined with the gym also brought it down just a bit as well. Gym part is pretty minor though. I am sorry I cannot give them a higher rating this go around, enjoy!
