During the consultation, I clearly explained what I was looking for. He mentioned under-the-armpit incisions, which interested me, but then quickly insisted that I would need a lift. I explained that I was extremely uncomfortable with a lift due to scarring, but my concerns were dismissed. He spoke very fast, was insistent, and both my support person and I felt lost and talked over. He told me my nipples were "turned down," which I disagreed with, and made unsolicited comments such as women not wanting to "look like a boy," that "guys don't care about scars," and that "you either have scars or you don't have bigger boobs." These comments felt inappropriate and made me feel pressured and insecure rather than supported. Overall, I felt that he did not listen to my goals or respect my boundaries. I booked this consultation specifically because of his advertised experience with endoscopic transaxillary cases and made my preferences very clear, yet I felt pushed toward a procedure I did not want. I would not trust this doctor and would recommend finding a surgeon who truly listens and has experience in the specific approach you're looking for. Additionally after the consultation, I called the office again to clarify whether it would be possible to proceed with an under-the-armpit approach without a lift, since I am comfortable with my breast shape and simply want more volume. He responded that I would "have the same breasts, just bigger," and that I would still have "the same problem." I explained that I do not see my breasts as a problem and that I like them as they are. He then told me that I should find a different doctor.

This was, unfortunately, the only negative experience I had. Scheduling the initial consultation was difficult -- it took weeks, multiple phone calls, and several portal messages just to get on the calendar. For anyone going through a cancer diagnosis, you know how critical timing is -- and how emotionally exhausting it is to wait for care or answers. When I finally met Dr. Reid, I expected an open, collaborative conversation. Instead, most of the time was spent listening to him discuss his publications and accomplishments. I respect medical expertise deeply, but what I needed was empathy, support, and someone who would listen to my concerns and goals. Even more troubling were the casual and insensitive references to my anatomy. This kind of language is jarring and inappropriate when you're sitting in a vulnerable position, talking about reconstructing your body after cancer. To other patients: Please know you have options. I strongly recommend exploring consultations both in and outside of San Diego. There are providers out there who combine clinical excellence with compassion -- and truly listen.

I decided to get a consultation for breast augmentation after having 4 kids and about to turn 41…read more My mom actually had several services done over 20 years ago from Dr. Pietraszek and only had good things to say about her experience. I booked my consultation in mid-May of 2022 and was able to get my surgery done by the end of June. I appreciated that all the staff didn't pressure me to get big implants and that their ultimate goal is to look natural. I'm 5'3" and 145 lbs. I decided to get saline implants, through the areola and wanted no more than 380 cc. My left breast is actually bigger than my right so we went with a smaller implant on that side... now they're identical. Pre-op consisted of blood work and a mammogram. Dr. Pietraszek, the anethesist and all the staff were so friendly and helpful throughout the whole process. The follow up appointments post surgery were on day 3, 6 and 9 then I have another about a month in a half post surgery. Post surgery care emphasizes massages, taking it easy and the correct bra support. I highly recommend Dr. Pietraszek and will be back for other services.
