We know it's BAD for us yet we do it anyways...
Like eating a Double Bacon Cheeseburger at 3 AM in the morning; at the moment, the taste of the succulent beef patties along with melted oooeey goooey cheese and thick, crisp smoky bacon is SO sublime that every bite makes your eyes roll back to your head and forget that you're on a "diet". That is until reality hits the next morning and you realize that you inhaled your entire daily caloric intake in 5 minutes flat and consumed as much salt to bloat you to a Michelin blimp. *Bashes head on wall*
If you're going to have this kind of regret, then stay far, far away from Dr. Teeth & The Electric Mayhem.
If tator tots and fried chicken alone weren't bad enough, Dr. Teeth has found a way to make bar food staples even more gastronomically artery-clogging. From tator tots smothered with an avalanche of melted cheese, guac, and sour cream to a fried chicken sandwiched between two jelly donuts, the food at Dr. Teeth will have you popping a Lipitor or two but it's totally worth it. Dr. Teeth is like the Broken Record (http://www.yelp.com/biz/broken-record-san-francisco#hrid:48ZPHYyTmHSHAM-gWQ_l7g) of The Hipster Mission.
In celebration of Hump Day last week, we started our happy hour with the gut-busting Tat-Chos ($7.95): Deliciously crunchy tator tots topped with melted cheese, jalapeno, pico de gallo, creamy sour cream and buttery guacamole http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/y8mGQTwmFaSu3d7dAywOHA?select=CRIJQ8J_Y3PIkWcuXag7bA . With a tot in one hand, we enjoyed a tangy and meaty buffalo wing in the other. At just $.25 a piece on Wednesdays, it's a guilty pleasure that won't break the bank http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/y8mGQTwmFaSu3d7dAywOHA?select=D0HqHL3gKWdVEtdJN7JuXw.
After just getting started, we continued our night of gluttony with the Housemade Corn Dogs ($7.95) http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/y8mGQTwmFaSu3d7dAywOHA?select=sv5F-4-akpPl92vMLllElw. The Napoleon complex suffering corn dogs were disappointing in length and girth but did redeem itself with its nicely spiced sausage. Umm, that so did not sound right. :X Anywhoo....next came the Wake & Bacon Grilled Cheese Sandwich with Bacon, Cheddar Cheese & Fried Egg ($7.95) http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/y8mGQTwmFaSu3d7dAywOHA?select=AJH_upFc-gltUalms4Rfgw. The crisp bacon against the oooey gooey cheese and the fried egg was sinfully good but with a dip in the tomato soup adding a bit of a garden fresh tang, it made it a tad bit less guilty. Needing to get maximum stuffage, I threw my order of the Croque L'oignon Grilled Cheese Sandwich with Gouda, Ham, Caramelized Onions ($7.95) on my friend's plate and he reluctantly inhaled it. But he inhaled it nonetheless, so I'll take it that it was good http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/y8mGQTwmFaSu3d7dAywOHA?select=WH_AHkSKwjq49KMMBfEHlg. I knew men were good for more than one thing. I'm kidding.
Because every main needs accouterments, we shoveled down the fresh-out-the-fryer Basket of Skinny Fries perfectly seasoned to tickle the taste buds ($7.95) http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/y8mGQTwmFaSu3d7dAywOHA?select=jDvEhUMigJiCwFU0HJlvkA with fork-fulls of the insanely rich Mac 'N Cheese with Bacon and Truffle ($8.95) http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/y8mGQTwmFaSu3d7dAywOHA?select=ngkgA59sAv_bidN4klh2PA. The bubbly cheese crust led way to al-dente elbow noodles thickly coated with the most decadent béchamel sauce I've ever had. Just thinking about it, makes my muffin top pop a button off my shirt.
Happy hour is never complete without drinks. So to wash down a week's worth of calories, the Cucumber Cooler ($10) was my poison of choice. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/y8mGQTwmFaSu3d7dAywOHA?select=vfxU7lnbRRR0LQKWFj5wLw. Three Cucumber Coolers later, I was lead to my worst enemy Mr. Tequila at Mosto up the block. We won't even start about how that lead to a night of debauchery.
REPENT.
REPENT.
REPENT.
The next morning, I totally regretted it but I know I'll do it again and again, and again because it may be bad but it feels OH SO GOOD.
