The arancini was awesome. Perfectly crisp & ooey gooey cheesy. The sauce was fantastic. The real star was the short rib & truffle pizza. Cannot put in words how damn good it was. We have had the short rib before with brunch, so knew what to expect but this surpassed it. We had the same waitress as the last visit, Bonnie. She was pleasant and attentive just as before. Next time will probably be the time to try the picanha! We shall see. :)

It was obvious that the bartender did not want to be there and was not friendly, but that's ok, I was with someone else, so while a friendly bartend / waiter may be nice, it is not a requirement. We order fried pickles as an app while my burger was being made, my date ordered a salad with chicken. The fried pickles were good, but the burger and salad took a very long time to come out of the kitchen. There were only 3 other people in the entire restaurant. It was an usually long wait for a burger and a salad. The burger was good, but the fries were extremely rubbery and tasted old. The salad came out warm and tasted weird, as if it had been sitting out for 20 minutes under a lamp? It was uneatable, but the unfriendly bartender / waitress did not care. We did something to bother her, maybe we sat down to order food at the restaurant?? It was a horrible vibe. This was my 3rd time eating there over maybe a year. The first 2 times the food was ok, not great but not terrible, but after last night, I just cannot visit the Simple Man any longer. After the meal, we walked over to The Clinton Bar and Grill, sat at the bar, had a few drinks to wash away the bad energy of Simple Man and then recovered. With so many other choices, I will not be back at Simple Man.

Apparently there was a function in the upstairs function room so when we ordered our entrees at 7:55 we had been enjoying our soup and apps for a while, we were seated at 7:15 but we had no idea that the kitchen was busy making dinners for 50 people. Someone should have mentioned that fact because it took an hour for our entrees to be served. When asked what was taking so long the server said that she understood but the kitchen was in the middle of service for the function. Don't get me wrong, this place is outstanding and I'm going to be back but a heads up would have been nice.
