The driving range is a bit of a walk from the office where you need to purchase your balls, but the views are great! It'll remind you of the Microsoft desktop picture. There's plenty of bays to use with built in tees. Price is cost friendly compared to others as its city operated.

I first played at Braeben when it was still called Britannia Hills. Back then, you could still…read moresmell the garbage and the adjacent land was still a landfill. There were not very many houses around the course either. Since that time I played the Academy 9-hole course a number of times. I liked the Academy because it was very challenging for a short course. If you miss the fairway, there was a very high chance that you would lose your ball in the rough and/or fescue. The fescue is baaaaad. Don't even bother trying to hit out of it. I finally decided to try out the 18-hole course after years of procrastinating. I played on a Sunday afternoon at 3:01 pm (twilight starts at 3 pm, and super twilight at 5:30 pm). For $65 you get a cart for your 18 holes. I highly recommend getting a cart. There are a lot of hills and you won't enjoy your round if you had to carry your bag. Both the 9- and 18-hole courses are very well maintained. There are some tough spots (we played after it rained) and the bunkers can be brutal. We took free drops instead of playing out of the bunkers, especially after rain. Also a couple of the holes had very strange layouts. There were two greens that were absolutely hidden and nearly impossible to aim for unless you had played it before. Thankfully all the carts are fitted with GPS devices so you know how far you are from the green. The staff and marshalls were all very polite and kind. We had a slow group but the marshall tried her best to keep everyone moving. Their service really stood out to me. I would definitely play Braeben again. For $65 and the convenience of the course's location, I think it's a great value. You might have a tough time if you're a beginner because of the fescue and tight fairways, but there are some easy par 3s and straight 4s to keep you going.

We missed our tee time but we joined a nice couple and played with them. Great way to practice and get a short game in. It's okay, not too challenging and kind of basic with not too many hazards and wasn't super interesting. I think that's the purpose just to get a quick practice. There are a couple of bigger courses here that my partner has played on and he said it was great. He would give the club 5 stars based on the bigger courses and facilities, but I'll give it 4 since I've only tried the academy course and it was just okay. The facilities are nice. For members, you can use the driving range and push carts for "free" well included in your membership rate. There's a locker room where you can take a shower, use their towels and get a stretch on and chill before your game. They also have a nice bistro with a lovely covered deck and live music on most Saturdays. Definitely wouldn't mind dining here if I'm in the area next time. The golf itself is okay, but it's mucho dinero if you able to score a guest pass.

I have been a seasonal member at Joshua Creek Golf since 2015 and I practice here every day in the…read moreafternoon as long as it does not rain and I average about 20-30 rounds on course playing each year during the Canadian golf season. I am not a scratch golfer, my best score was 76 at Red Crest, hence I am not a professional golfer. If I have to make a living by playing golf, I would be starved to death a long time ago, but I do enjoy the game of golf and also as a challenge to myself. With all due fairness, if you ask me to count out the top 5 driving range locations (not simulators) in my humble opinion within the GTA, Joshua Creek Golf would be in my ranking for many reasons. Nowadays with all the inflation and poor economy in our country be reminded, a Large Bucket (105 balls) is $17 tax-in and the golf balls are in good conditions. If you go up north, the driving range, I wish not to mention names, on Leslie St. and Highway 7 Markham, a Jumbo (105 Balls) is $27. Further up north at Bloomington Rd. and Bayview, the golf course's driving range will set you off by $19 for a bucket of 70 balls, but the 8 out of 10 golf balls are worn out to the point some of them you do not even see the dimples anymore. If you check Real Estate Pricing, Thornhill, Markham, Richmond Hill housing price are similar to Oakville, this means the cost of the land is similar but the other places are charging more. Unfortunately I do not practice off mats so I cannot comment on the condition of the golf mats, however, the grass condition is better than your $27 driving range since the line where you practice on gets moved almost every day so there are a lot less divots. Staff are knowledgeable and respectful. One thing perhaps I wish to remind folks, or at least the golfers, please treat the staff the way you want to be treated back. Respect is mutual if someone comes to your venue and right off the bat being demanding and entitled, I do not believe you will be entertained anywhere, period. I did read some of the comments left here before mine, and it seems people get upset for getting reminded not to pick-up the balls after they rolled away. Well, years ago I played on course and I got hit by a golf ball right in the chest and it hurts. So now my question to those patrons would be, do you have that much of a trust on the other players near you, when you go pick up the balls, you trust them enough not to shank their shots and not hitting you? Golf balls are hard, club head speed gets up to, well at least 80 MPH, so it is to your own safety not to pick up the balls. The driving range is here for everyone, also for the folks who runs it and make a living. Perhaps put yourself in their shoes for one quick moment, if they allow someone to hit the balls and then pick them back up and re-hit, there's no viable business models and the folks lining up behind your tee box waiting for you to finish your bucket would not be appreciating neither. There's a reason why Golf Domes in Markham are charging by the hour with unlimited amount of balls. It's a different business model. I guess all I'm asking for from other patrons is, to be considerate, it's not too difficult. Ok enough talking, time to go fix my slice. Cheers.

Customer picked up the balls that easily rolls off the cement. Owner did not have a good view from the distance. Ball rolled off about 2 feet and customer picked it up 2 balls. Owner was yelling at customer and voiced out some profanities to customer. No professionalism whatsoever. I've never witness an owner/staff showed such belligerent action towards a customer. Owner accusing customer of stealing was unacceptable. Customer was still in the range property and the balls would be recycled back over and over again. I will never go back to this range again after witnessing such behaviour.

I visited here a year ago, and I didn't want to write this review because I've only been here once…read more However I found myself talking about this place all the time!!! Every time I talk about golf, I talk about this place. So yes, I'd like to share my experience on Yelp for all the online users to read! I have NEVER played golf. Never!! So when I was invited to play golf for a company event (like on a course, with, like, bodies of water, tall grass, sand,... people and golf carts), I needed to at least hold a golf club. I'm not even sure why I chose Piper's Health. I just needed *a* driving range. But I'm glad I started golf here! Beginning at the rental location for the clubs, she asked me, "What clubs would you like to rent for tonight?" My answer was, "There is more than one type of club??????" (yes, not only have I never played golf. I know nothing about it) I thought golf clubs just depend on a person's height (like a ski pole) After she gave me 3 clubs (driver, an iron, and a wedge), I said, "So I should rent 2 sets of these clubs because my boyfriend should have clubs too." She replied, "Well, you don't use all of them at once. So you could just switch." Anyways I'm going to stop here. My questions were so lame it's very embarrassing. But she was so lovely. She taught me to hold and swing the club!!!!! She was also very nice, not judgmental, didn't make me feel stupid at all. THEN. SHE SENT AN INSTRUCTOR AFTER ME. (or, she may have told an instructor, who volunteered to go after me) We were walking to our driving range spot, and this orange-golf-shirt man started yelling (conversationally) behind me. He started asking, "So I hear you haven't golfed before?" I'm pretty sure there's no nicer way he could start this conversation, but I wanted to say, "I can't afford lessons." Instead, my shyness told me to be nice. SO FOR THE NEXT 20 MINUTES, HE GAVE ME LESSONS. I learned: - to hold the club properly - that, yes, there indeed are many types of golf clubs. And I should know which club to use based on what I'm trying to achieve. - how to swing - how to swing without hitting the ground Amazing staff here! He just walked away cheerfully with a, "Good luck tomorrow!" Didn't ask if I'm coming back Didn't ask if I'm serious about golfing. Didn't say, "look for me when you visit again!" or "My rate is.." Didn't say I have talent (you know sometimes people say, "wow you're so gifted! You're better than a lot of students, you should take lessons!") -also I probably don't have talent. The next day (on Golf Day), I performed quite well!!!! I was able to hit OVER bodies of water. Given I've never played golf THANKS, PIPER'S!!! I'd love to come back for golf lessons (when I have the money for clubs and lessons!)

I believe one of the City's MPP's came up with the idea to repurpose the Lakeview Golf Course. Whomever did, it was a great idea! There is parking on-site and the trail is marked. Don't just follow the paved paths because most of them end abruptly. Like most golf courses, they're open fields with some rolling hills. So it can get quite windy! Dress accordingly, including a hat/gloves. Trail is dog-friendly, but dogs must be leased...and of course, you hafta pick-up after your dog. Trail is 2km and without any snow and if you're a fast walker, it took about 30 minutes to complete. Trail is open from 10-4pm, mainly because it gets dark early now! I came with my bf, who has never been to a driving range before. It was exactly as a I remembered it, though with some new social distancing rules and guards. There's an area for mini golf that looked popular with families, couples, and small groups; and there's also areas for their outdoor driving range. Both areas come with putters and drivers to borrow. As noobs, we didn't really know what we were doing, but the staff were friendly and the place has an overall welcoming feeling regardless of your level (though it was slightly intimidating to see the more pro golfers going at it) If you're looking for a fancy-shmancy club, then this probably isn't the place you're looking for. However, if you're looking for a chill, no frills place to hit a few balls and/or spend some time with friends/family, then this may just be your jam ;)

Seeing there hasn't been a review for a while for this store I thought it's time. I seldom review…read moreretail but the point needs to be made here about customer service, which seems to be a lost arts these days. This used to be my favourite golf town. There's actually one nearer to my home but I used to always found myself at this store because the staff is so much more helpful. Until yesterday. I read some great reviews and did my research on the brand new CALLAWAY driver so want to try it. Playing a pro-am event at a PGA tournament in a few weeks so need to check out the new gear. As a women I'm pretty used to getting ignored at golf stores unless I'm buying clothes. But on this rainy Saturday morning I had the most pleasant and helpful gentleman helping me set up the club and walked me through the shaft options. So far so good. It was a busy morning so as soon as he set me up at the simulator I was fine for him to go ahead and take care of other customers and just come back and check on me, which he did. The one star on this review is there because of this, otherwise it would have been a zero star. Not 10 minutes into hitting, another club fitter came in and asked if I would move to a different stall as he needed to fit another customer for a full set. At that point I really just wanted to hit maybe 8-10 more shots so I said ok. I moved to the stall suggested and it has no tees, no balls and the simulator was not set up. Slightly irritated, I went back to the young man and said that perhaps next time if he kicks a customer out the least he could do is to set the other stall up properly. He was surprised and puzzled why I took issue with what is happening. Now that I had some time to think about it, I should have just told him to wait until I'm done. Was just trying to be nice. Decided to shop a little while to cool my jets and few minutes later someone else came over and "tried" to apologize but it was really a non apology as he proceeded to suggest that I was using the stall as a driving range so it was somehow reasonable that I was asked to leave. At that point I was pretty much done. Why couldn't he just stopped at the apology and move on? Very, very disappointed. I don't think it should matter what I was looking to buy but clearly I wasn't important enough to let me use the "good" stall in the shop. At least their words and action spoke to me that way. Hate to say that ladies but if you want proper service at this location - bring a man like you do at the car dealership. Or go to a different golf-town. This is an absolutely avoidable incident if they don't pre-judge customers and bias the services being provided. I think I'm just going to go back to my club pro and spent the $1500 with him instead.

There's putting area to practice but didn't recall there being a chipping area which is too bad. The course is efficient and straightforward, just what you expect for an executive course. I like this course because there aren't many narrow fairways or plant growth areas where I can lose a ball. I'm a beginner, and I felt confident enough to allow myself to pull out my big boy driver twice to practice on the course. The hazards aren't too challenging - few ponds here or there, but mostly off to the side and not an obstacle where you have to manage your stroke distance.
