There were not very many houses around the course either. Since that time I played the Academy 9-hole course a number of times. I liked the Academy because it was very challenging for a short course. If you miss the fairway, there was a very high chance that you would lose your ball in the rough and/or fescue. The fescue is baaaaad. Don't even bother trying to hit out of it. I finally decided to try out the 18-hole course after years of procrastinating. I played on a Sunday afternoon at 3:01 pm (twilight starts at 3 pm, and super twilight at 5:30 pm). For $65 you get a cart for your 18 holes. I highly recommend getting a cart. There are a lot of hills and you won't enjoy your round if you had to carry your bag. Both the 9- and 18-hole courses are very well maintained. There are some tough spots (we played after it rained) and the bunkers can be brutal. We took free drops instead of playing out of the bunkers, especially after rain. Also a couple of the holes had very strange layouts. There were two greens that were absolutely hidden and nearly impossible to aim for unless you had played it before. Thankfully all the carts are fitted with GPS devices so you know how far you are from the green. The staff and marshalls were all very polite and kind. We had a slow group but the marshall tried her best to keep everyone moving. Their service really stood out to me. I would definitely play Braeben again. For $65 and the convenience of the course's location, I think it's a great value. You might have a tough time if you're a beginner because of the fescue and tight fairways, but there are some easy par 3s and straight 4s to keep you going.

Come for the golf! Not sure about anything else…read more Golfwise, it's a bit of a hidden gem to non regular golfers. For those in the know, they know. Really amazing views for this pricing tier. The greens and course are in pretty good shape. A little bit more work and a couple of well placed bunkers could make this elite level. But it's already hard enough to book a tee time here, so any major upgrades will most likely not happen any time soon. The potential of this site could easily make this a top notch club in the GTA. I've heard they've mostly cut back on the restaurant and banquet facilities.

The venue was very beautiful with manicured lawns, a castle-like building, and a sufficiently large banquet hall for guests and a live band. The hors d'eouvres included spring rolls, phyllo triangles filled with cheese, and coconut shrimp. Since we were here on Star Wars day (May 4th), there were even green Yoda drinks with eyes and lime slices for ears. They definitely played up this theme all day and it was a really nice touch. What was noticeable throughout the evening was how good the food was. Everyone at the table said it was better than previous years at a different golf course. The antipasto, which is usually my least favorite dish, was really good. The beef entree was amazing. It was cooked perfectly medium on the inside with the same color pink throughout. The staff were courteous and accommodating. One person at our table asked for the personal caesar salad without bacon since the shared salad had bacon and we pretty much received another shared salad. Towards the end of the evening, the staff were clearing off tables while the banquet was winding down. But they were a little too quick to clear the tables that they took away someone's photo booth photos before those people came back to the table to claim their photos. Don't expect anything too fancy.. everything is kinda straight outta the 70s and kept that way, so it feels like a bit of time warp. The golf course itself is ok. Not super long, nor super challenging, but fun enough. Great for newer golfers. Course is also flat enough that it's a good walk in the park.

If you decide to walk it, prepare to track a lot of mud on your pull cart and golf shoes. The first few holes are a land mine of geese poo, like a public restroom for geese to do their business. If you're a clean freak and want to keep your trunk clean, you might want to pony up and get a golf cart to save the hassle. It's a warm sunny day and I've played golf in worse conditions with the rain and mud, but this type of mud is the worst - gummy, cakes on. We took 30 minutes after attempting to take off. The staff only offered a muddy broomstick, which wasn't much help. We couldn't use their power wash. During Twilight time, prepare to play with greens with Autumn leaves all over (see pic as reference). There aren't many hazards/bodies of water, so chances of losing balls are minimal. We started at 3:15 pm on Sunday as a group of 4, all walking. We are primarily beginners and played slow, 13 holes by 6 pm. I have to admit I was terrible today, I was Duffy the Bogey Slayer. There's still enough light, so it's possible to finish as single or pair if there's no one in front. Weekend Twilight rate is $38.54/per person +tax.

You can also bring your own food but there is a charge per person. The great - The customer service is top notch. I bombarded them with questions over email, they didn't leave a single one unanswered, they were quick to respond and very accommodating. The patience in answering multiple emails, questions and follow up questions is how I knew my experience here would be good. The good - The alcoholic drink options were okay, the variety wasn't large but the cocktails and mocktails were good. Food was good too. The karaoke was a bit confusing to navigate at first but we got the hang of it. There's something for everyone here and coming in a large group definitely made it worth it.

I thoroughly enjoyed all the days, sunsets & hours spent at the driving range practicing This place is just beautiful & so conveniently located close to home. Workers here are friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. Special shoutout to Sal for going through the extra trouble of locating a more suitable club for me when I wasn't really happy about the one they initially gave (& also bringing it right up to me at the range!) The driving range is pretty spacious & there are plenty (although it does get more crowded later on in the day). There are a few target practicing flags on the range as well. I haven't had the chance to play holes here but I would love to next season!

My husband and I got married here in 2016 and they went above and beyond to make sure everything was great. Extremely professional. The service was very attentive but without being bothersome. We offered a choice of salmon, steak or chicken for our guests and we were able to sample all 3 in advance...all 3 were amazing! Our guests raved about the warm apple crumble served for dessert. The appetizers that were passed around were beautifully presented and so delicious...we had spring rolls, bruschetta and chicken skewers. My family was outside for photos and some were delivered to us as well to make sure we didn't miss out. They allowed us to do a champagne toast outside and even bring in an ice sculpture martini luge. The grounds were beautiful, we had a large patio outside and dinner inside. It was everything I could have wanted and more, love love love this place.
