Nice enough bar for a small town. Lots of Bourbon from which to choose. First lady was not a bartender bit was full of spirit and fun to talk with. Then the real bartender came in.... So sad, she walked past us about 5 times... NEVER greeted us, asked how lunch was or if we wanted a second drink !! Terrible service from her. Sorry , I didn't get her name. Also, A little chinchy on our lunch selection. Had the Italian on a wedge... not very much meat. Really should have ordered the hoagie instead. We would go back just because the Bar is pretty cool but order something else. Pizzas from next door Fox Den looked amazing. read more

Absolutely amazing place to have a drink. And something to eat staff there is amazing. So is management. I think it's important that a member of the staff should not have their hands tied behind their back. Due to the lack of someone else not being able to perform the job as well as the next. Let. The great ones be great. Let the lesser ones learn to be great. Never tie the hands behind the back of those who have a lot to give. So disappointed. I'm from Texas and found this bar on accident last year and loved my first two visits to it. The last two visits, however, have been on Saturday nights at 8:30 and 9:30pm, well before closing time. Google and Apple Maps show this bar closes at 11pm on Saturday night. In February I went at 8:30 but the doors were locked. I saw people inside and figured maybe they were closing or having an event. Okay, I moved along to the brew spot a few doors down. Tonight, we tried again. Walked in at 9:30, the bar had about six people sitting at the bar, about three people behind the bar laughing/talking, and one or two people walking/standing near by. We walked up to the bar and before we could sit, someone behind the bar walked over mid laugh and said "so sorry, we're closed." There wasn't a sign on the door and again all maps said they close at 11. We triple checked. Teddy's is the only place nearby where I can get a good bourbon, so I'm sad that this has been the case twice now. Ontop of that, I recommended this place to a close friend who lives nearby, but when they walked in, they waited at the bar for 15 minutes and never received a greeting from any servers or bartenders. They told me it wasn't busy but the staff seemed to be enjoying a conversation at the end of the bar and did not acknowledge her. I could t believe it because the two times I've been, the service was amazing! However, given that there seems to be a shift in hours/priorities, maybe she wasn't exaggerating. read more

The bartenders are always top-notch and I enjoy the ambiance and seating possibilities. The 3-stars is for the ridiculous and frustrating restrictions on the drink details. They had holiday cocktails all featuring bourbon (of course). I prefer vodka so I asked if they had vodka. She said they have vanilla vodka for the holiday cocktails (with bourbon). I asked to leave off the bourbon and it's not allowed. I asked if I could have some vanilla vodka as my drink - that's not allowed because it's only for the cocktails. It felt strange to be told no over and over in a bar. We're sorta turned off now and not recommending it for a while. To be a happy place, give a little flexibility so the vodka folks can come in and have a drink with their bourbon buddies. Sigh. read more

Teddy's! Teddy's has become a weekly tradition for me and a few friends to meet up for an evening drink, and something I look forward to every week. Teddy's is attached to Fox's Pizza Den -- it's separate, but also the same place if that makes sense, separated only by a hole in the wall. It's nice because you can order food from the Fox's side and sit on the Teddy's side of the house. First, their selection of whiskey, whisky (yes there is a difference between those two), bourbon, and rye is unmatched in the area. They have a little chalkboard behind the bar where they keep a running tally. Last check: 355 whiskies, including 150+ bourbons. It's really incredible! They offer curated tasting flights of multiple bourbons, whiskeys, and Scotches, or single servings of anything, and their standard pour is 2oz. They even have the elusive Pappy Van Winkle, but you'll pay a hefty price for it. For those who prefer something a little softer, they have 12 or so beer taps, featuring Alabama craft brews, along with your standard offerings. They have wine, too. I dock a star because the prices for some are a little high, many Scotch whisky servings are in the $30 range, which is a bit much for a single drink. But, I recognize this is Alabama, and despite some progress in the last decade, the Alabama Alcoholic Beverage Control Board still has a stranglehold over the industry. The real highlight of this place is the staff. Darcy is our Thursday bartender and she's great. She remembered us by name from our first visit, and has been super friendly since. This place brings some desperately-needed night life to a beautiful but sleepy downtown Prattville, and the area is better for it! read more

We have been there several times with 19 & 20 year olds (family members) for dinner or lunch, and sat in the bar section because we usually have 5 or more people. In fact we were there just last week with no issues. Last night, there were 7 of us for dinner. The server informed us that everyone had to be 21 to sit on that side of the restaurant. She said she'd have to ask the manager. I don't know when that policy went in place but it's never been an issue before. She disappeared and when she returned she said the mgr told her that was indeed the case. Why we were sat there (and several times prior) I have no idea. What a great hidden gem tucked away in the heart of downtown Prattville. Tiffany, one of the Bar Tenders was very knowledgeable and helped us through their plethora of bourbon and specialty drink options. However, if you are not a bourbon guy or gal, no worries, there are some great craft brew options as well. Personally, I really enjoyed the great bourbon, chatting with the locals and singing along with their karaoke crew. Pros tip-if you do decide to take on their bourbon menu and feel a little tipsy, try Fox's Pizza Den which is next door. Fox's Pizza Den actually connects to Teddy's Bourbon Bar and their Stromboli's are absolutely to die for. If you're in the area, do yourself a favor and stop by, you won't regret it. read more

Horrible service... drinks took 20 min to come to the table when the bar wasn't busy.... One plate of food came out 30 min before the rest of the table and was obviously cold by the time everyone got their food so when I spoke to the manager (Anthony) about our issues and wanting to take the cold food off the ticket he was rude and refused... very unprofessional! Tonight was our fourth attempt at patronage--and it was so frustrating. We gave up. Our first visit last year was okay. Bartender was great & so were the cocktails. For 2nd visit we brought friends but had to push to get a table (drinks only) despite many empty ones. Two more times we've tried to go to the bar but were told we'd have to be on a waitlist like all the Fox Pizza diners. Waitlist for a bar?? That makes no sense. You have a restaurant on one side, so keep the bar side dedicated to non-diners--or at least a few tables for bar patrons only. If you're promoting yourself as a niche bar, you need more than just 10 barstools. In our experience, the staff have been rude & unaccommodating, as other reviewers have noted. We want to support local businesses, but it shouldn't be this hard. We'll make the drive into Mtgy and enjoy the specialty bars there. If you want to try Teddy's, I'd recommend going early on a weeknight. Maybe you'll have a better experience. read more

Love this bar /restaurant in historic downtown Prattville. The biggest selection of bourbon in the state. Ask for a proper whiskey sour with Buffalo trace. The food is great , love the meaty pizza. read more
