Teddy B's - This restaurant is located on corner of Babcock & Prue Rd. NOT Fredericksburg. It's right next to gas station. - Burgers Near Me - San Antonio, Texas

The The restaurant is a small space attached to a gas station with a Texas vibe. The restaurant was clean, and the cashiers/ servers were very nice and attentive. I ordered a cheeseburger combo with all the works and chose fries as my side; I didn't get a drink. It was done rather quickly; I don't think the food took up to 10 minutes to come out. I loved the whole meal; it was just amazing! The burger was seasoned well and cooked perfectly, and all of the toppings just added to the flavor and texture. The patty was thick but not dry, and the toppings added more moisture and flavor. The bun was buttered, and the whole sandwich was tied together beautifully. Also, the burger was huge and visually appealing. The fries were seasoned and completely delicious. I'm pretty sure the fries were made to order because they were piping hot and crispy when I checked my food. Overall, the experience was terrific. My favorite item was the burger; it was just so good! I am so happy that I tried this place out; it is easily one of the best burger joints I have been to!! I will be coming back! read more

I love you Teddy B's... This is the kind of place that you shouldn't judge by the looks because the outside and inside can scare you away but just give it a chance and you'll fall in love. Burgers were huge and juicy, totter tots also thick n crunchy! I'm so happy they re opened and honestly the remodeling is nice from the last time I've been here. I tried Teddy B's after numerous recommendations from a Facebook group I'm in and it definitely lived up to the hype! The location is attached to a gas station. The inside has a few tables to sit at so it does get full fairly quickly. My only complaint was that the music was a little loud. The food here is delicious! I had a chili dog and fries. The dog was grilled and layered with a good amount of chili and cheese. My daughter got the grilled cheese that had a nicely toasted bread. We'll definitely be back and look forward to trying new items. read more

The grapevine said Teddy B's is trying to get customers so they can stay afloat. I'm usually down for finding a new burger place, so I took my kids to kill two birds with one stone. Not impressed. Cramped indoor dining area, the collection of condiments (grab a bottle for your table style) featured ketchup bottles that were all 80-90% empty. The coke fountain machine has next to it the boxes of the bags of syrup used to make the soda and they were all empty or close to it. The cashier was informing everyone (unapologetically) that all the drink choices were in the cooler behind her. I saw cans of Coke, Dr. Pepper, and bottles of water. If I were thinking straight, I would've gone to the gas station that shares the building to get a soda. The aforementioned cashier was not only unapologetic, but she also rarely made eye contact and didn't smile once that I could see during the long wait for our meal. I ordered a Philly with a cup of corn as my side. The sandwich came with mayo on it, which I was glad about, but I wasn't asked about it so people who don't like mayo: watch out. One son ordered a bacon cheeseburger with a side of tots and the other just got a grilled cheese sandwich with no side. The food came to us with the burger having no sides and the grilled cheese having French fries. According to them the fries were underwhelming and the burger was just okay. How disappointing. read more

Wanted a burger and found this place on Yelp and decided to try. It is a food truck in a gas station parking lot with a shaded sitting area. I ordered a bunch of burgers for the family and got the Texan. The brisket was alright, but I enjoyed the burger. SA classic right here!! This is a hidden gem. One of the city's best burgers in a gas station is hard to believe, but you can't judge a book by its cover! Solid patties with great flavor and topping combos. Fries are always hot and crispy. If you want a very filling burger, you can't go wrong here! It's not fancy but it's damn delicious. read more

I would say this burger falls within the top 5 best cheeseburgers IVE EVER HAD!! This place feels like a typical hole in the wall, but absolutely lives up to the hype! I decided to get the bacon cheeseburger with the works and tater tots. I added chili and cheese to the tater tots because frankly it's been a rough day. I got back to my home and realized they did forget it, but since I lived close I just went back. I thought they would just give me the chili and cheese in a cup, but they made me a whole new order of tater tots all together!! The service from the staff was absolutely amazing! They have some of the most friendly employees I have seen in food service in a while. Overall, I will be making this a weekly go-to!! Some of the best food i've had since moving to San Antonio! read more

First impression was thinking it's part of the gas station.. but it's not at all that. It was empty when we entered. We were able to read the menu with so much ease . Huge menu to choose from. We decided on Mushrooms Swiss burger with bacon and tots, as well as a Chili Cheese Hotdog. Everything was made really fresh but didn't take too long. They really didn't have a huge drink option as far as sodas. I loved that it was a juicy huge burger with lots of mushrooms lettuce and cheese just like I like it. My husband ordered the chili cheese dog. Very hardy beef hot dog with plenty of sauce. Love the food was hot and fresh. The only thing I can say is I wish my beef had alittle more seasoning but otherwise it was a very enjoyable lunch. There was music on but not to loud where you couldn't hear each other. Definitely would go back for a burger and going to try corn in a cup read more

Ladies & Gentlemen, gather round & we will introduce you to your new burger joint. We are showcasing "Local v. Chain" restaurants in close proximity to each other & just completed our first 9-minute episode comparing Teddy B's burgers (6392 Babcock Rd San Antonio, TX 78240) to McDonald's (6370 Babcock Rd, San Antonio, TX 78249) right next door, in the adjacent ZIP Code. The ordering experience is friendly & informative at Teddy B.'s versus the cold, clinical & super slow service at McDonald's - over 10 minutes for a Quarter Pounder at Mc-E-D's. At the burger behemoth, they cater to the drive-thru & driver deliveries. Teddy B's has an amazing menu & a cool, surfer-vibe mural that took quite some time & effort to produce - the atmosphere reminds me of a burger joint near the Pacific in South-Southern, So-Cal: laid back, great eats & employees eager to serve you well. We hope you enjoy our video & you appreciate our recommendation! https://youtu.be/NUOygGfU7AU read more

Been going to Teddy Bs for quite a while now. The food is top notch. Great burgers, snacks, and specialty treats. Think burgers and hot dogs but with a Mexican flair. I bring lots of people to try it for the first time and they always love anything they order. The staff is friendly and sweet. They will know you by name if you come by often enough. The owner is a great guy. When he's on the grill, the food is even better than normal. The new dining room is fine. I don't think it's what they were hoping for, but it's still better than 3 booths inside a gas station. I love that they put their patio furniture out again. That's going to be great once the weather cools off. I love grabbing a snack and chilling outside with friends. I urge everyone to go check this place out. It's a local business with great food, simple as that. Puro San Antonio on the NW side! read more

All that I've heard is hype, hype, hype about this place. So I walked in with big expectations and let me tell you, it exceeded my expectations by a mile. I got the brisket burger and the mexican dog. I really liked that they had corn in a cup and a cucumber cup as a side. The staff was very helpful and friendly and the place itself is a very chill spot that is connected to a Valero. Now look. I get it, there's a stigma that comes w being connected to a gas station. But, look at Gino's deli, and what they have done. The burger was amazing and the hot dog was incredible. Honestly there should be a line out the door at this place. If you are a fan of Burgers and/or Hot dogs you would be doing yourself a disservice by not going to Teddy B's! read more

Based on the reviews, I was very excited to try Teddy's. Unfortunately, I was super underwhelmed. First off service was subpar. Just a very weird exchange. I ordered a burger and fries and everything lacked seasoning. There was nothing that stood out personally that would have me return. The pro is that the selections are affordable and that's definitely a win in today's climate! read more

Teddy B's is located pretty close to where I live and I never knew how much good food was just a drive down the road!! This place is very unassuming being attached to the side of a gas station. The isn't much room to sit down and eat and they've moved all of their dining tables due to Covid so Takeout is the best option. The menu here is crazy extensive. You can buy just about anything here it feels like. The food did take a while (40 min) from when we ordered but was worth the wait. Staff was kind of brisk when I asked them a few questions since it was my first time. Choose the Bristo Burger on sourdough bread with avocado and mushrooms. Yum! Homemade ingredients and you can taste them. The Mangonada was on point, alternating levels of chamoy and mango ice. And not overdone on the amount of chamoy. I'd eat one of these every night if I could. Worth the try! read more

I am for sure a fan! Burgers & Hot dogs are delish! Wait time? Oy Vey! The wait time is a pain if you do not call ahead. Why is the wait time so bad? Because this place is so good that everyone is ordering. Order yourself a burger or a hot dog - or both! I ordered both hehehe They have outdoor seating, but in this humidity - hard pass. I rather take it to go or eat in my car with the AC on full blast. Enjoy! read more

Thought we try this place because of the reviews. I'm glad we did. The burgers were delicious and the food was hot and fresh. Only negative was that daughter just wanted a a plain cut fruit mango cup and they ended up putting chamoy sauce all over it and couldn't make it over because they ran out mangos. I still tried to eat it when we got home, but Most of the mangos were hard and not ripe in her cup. read more

I came here to try the burgers as they are highly rated. They are located inside the gas station, which was not an issue as we go to many restaurants located inside gas stations. Customer service was okay, and the burger was well done as I preferred. read more

The hot Cheetos on the Caliente burger tasted old. They seemed pretty stale. That ruined the whole burger for me. I didn't really enjoy the French fries either. They tasted like the frozen French fries you can buy at the grocery store. They weren't gross but I didn't even eat them bc they had no real flavor. The frito pie was decent but nothing special. The Mexican burger was not bad actually. The pico and jalapeños on the burger were pretty good and the patty was cooked well. The portion was pretty big so that was nice. read more

Absolutely love Teddy B's!! My boyfriend & I would come by frequently when we lived in the area. We recently moved to the south side & were in the area earlier today, so decided to stop by bc we LOVE their HOMEMADE CHILI!! Chili cheese nachos & Frito Pie especially. It's been our first time returning since they renovated & did a whole upgrade. We were so disappointed to get our frito pie & realize it's Wolf Brand Chili right now. I just hope they bring back their homemade chili because that's what kept us coming back. besides that, my raspa was great! Just wish I was told they didn't have their chili at this time & that it was Wolf brand. would've ordered a burger instead which are also amazing! Or a hot dog. (Had them in the past.) PLEASE bring back y'all's chili soon. read more

2/2 restaurants connected to a gas station that I have visited have had surprisingly great food! Customer service was on point! They explained the menu nicely and even gave me a sample to try. My cheeseburger meal was under $7 and came with a drink and fries or another side. Dry fresh tasting. Bun was soft and flavorful. Fries had a nice seasoning on them. I won't take any points away from eating facing a gas station store, bc it is what it is. Ambience is truck stop-ish, but alllll good to me! I can't wait to comeback when I feel like eating a burger or hot dog and stay close to home. Their dessert drinks were ahmazingly refreshing! I'm posting pics but can't remember which strawberry one I ordered per their recommendation. It had strawberry ice, cream, fresh strawberries, and whipped cream! read more

Food was cold and did not taste good at all. The tater tots were cold, which was unappetizing. The cucumbers tasted like bleach and I threw them away. The place was a total dump inside! The table we sat at was wobbling and broken. The next table was uneven because there's a huge slant or crater in the middle of the ghetto joint. Only a few tables with no napkins or condiments. The place was warm inside on a hot June day. Don't dine inside, get it to go! Food was overpriced too. Do not recommend! read more

This place is awesome with big honor meat and french fries also a big variety drinks so we like to go there and eat from time to time.

Hey guys! It's good to be back in San Antonio and the first place I hit is this place right in my neighbor hood! I got here close to 8 no line and the place is literally right by a gas station which made me want to try it EVEN MORE! Let me tell ya the hot dog was AMAZING!!! the consistency of the bun stood up for sure with the delicious toppings. If I had to change anything I'd just add more pickles. This place not only has dogs but it also has Hamburgers as well as sandwiches snacks sno cones shakes... everything looked amazing I really can't wait to come back and try other delicious foods! Happy eatings y'all!!! Ps I'm bringing a date here next time! read more

So, my wife and I visited Teddy B's after my son told us about it. First time I tried their mushroom burger with "the works", tater tots, and a pineapple agua fresca. I wasn't super impressed. "the works" masked all other flavors, and made my burger super runny. The tater tots were crisp and dry... almost too dry. The agua fresca was great! My wife had the brisket burger with no bun as she's celiac, tater tots, and a limeade She said the brisket was a little sweet, but everything else was good. So I decided to give them another try. I got the regular burger, no cheese, with mayo, lettuce and tomato, regular fries, and a soda. This time I could actually taste the meat, and it was good. The fries were very good but they were so hot I had to wait to eat them. That's actually a really good sign--they were freshly made! She got a mushroom burger with no cheese and no bun, tater tots, and cucumber agua fresca. Again, she was really pleased. So the second time was better than the first. I was very impressed that when my wife made some specific requests, the young man who took the order invited the cook to come clear up the request she had made. That was a very big +. Unfortunately, and this is my personal quirk, the music was pretty loud; the TV was also on and although the volume was set so I could hear something, the music made it difficult to understand. Call me out of step with today's younger diners. I prefer to eat somewhere where the music is audible, but I don't have to raise my voice to chat with my wife, and I don't constantly have to say "What?" If a place is loud because people are talking instead of competing with a soundtrack, I can deal with it. But if the music is so loud I can't hear my wife or the server, then the place loses points. Next time, I'll take the food to go... read more

Always Looking for a good burger place. This place is small 7 tables inside and more seating outdoors. It is attached to a Valero so you could actually go into the Valero store and then there's a side door to walk out and you're inside the burger place. My son wanted to order a root beer float, which is on the menu however their soda machine was down and the only thing they were serving today was coke. The burgers hit the spot and were huge and tasted great! Everything is made fresh so it was piping hot! We will be back!!! read more

This is our neighborhood burger joint, and we love it. Their corn in the cup is among the best in the city, and their burgers are super delish, too. The location is attached to a gas station. FEAR NOT. We have been many times, and each time everything is hot and fresh and juicy fabulous. The burgers are smash patties, without too much seasoning to override the well-cooked flavor, and the fries are well done. There isn't much room inside to dine, so grab a table outside; there are places both with and without a roof. It is NOT fast food, so please do not try to jam in a meal in 15 minutes here, it's not going to happen. If you are in a rush, or if dining outside isn't your jam, call ahead to order. read more

The best of a "hole in the wall" and I mean that as a term of endearment. Great customer service, the burger, fries and milkshake were all perfect! I cannot wait to return in the future... 10/10! read more

Only gave it a 4 because the cheeseburger was cheap and the quality was super high. You get a lot more for what you pay for, but the fries could be better. The fries were very soggy and didn't have good taste. I literally can get frozen Ohio potato fries from HEB and make them on my air fryer and they would taste better than the fries I got from teddys. Also, the location is horrible; I can't leave my wife and the baby alone in the car because there is a ton of homeless people around, not good. Although they did accommodate and brought the food to my vehicle. I would just recommend to make the place more family friendly (change the location) and change the fries up a bit. read more

They do a mean burger. Love the patty, the bread, and the fries. No complaints about any of it. If you are keto or gluten-free, they will do a lettuce wrap. The menu has an appealing variety of options for possible toppings. I only tried the cheeseburger, but I can't wait to try everything else. It's bit pricey, but you get why you pay for. I prefer this place more than any fast food chain or local burger restaurant in the area. The burgers come out well done, so if you like any pinkness, you have to ask for it. No indoor seating, but some patio tables are open. They are well-equipped for takeout and have the order ready pretty fast. read more
