First time ever waxing and it was the best a first time waxing experience could be. My initial email conversation was amazing. Amanda was super helpful. After confirming my appointment, all I had to do was wait until then. I went to my appointment early and filled out the paper work. Then waited to meet Pai and she was amazing. Super sweet. Super patient. And did a really great job. Not only on the waxing but helping me through the pain by talking and distracting me. Even though, I can only imagine that I was the less than perfect customer. Thank God for an awesome experience. It hurt a lot, but what would anyone else expect of my first time? Pai made it bearable. In conclusion, would recommend anyone and I mean anyone because they work on males as well. They are professional. And they have a clean work space. I mean very clean. And they are hilarious. So glad I went to them for my first time. read more

Ted D Bare - The entrance. Super easy to find. Be sure to get here on time. - Waxing Near Me - San Jose, California

Yes!!! Great ambiance and vibe, reasonable price, quick in and out, and high quality work. I shall return

I've been going to Ted D Bare for a Brazilian for over a year now. And I'm always on time for my appointments. This last time I was a little late ( by 8 mins) . And Gavi said she couldn't see me. I understand they are on 15 min windows and they have clients one after another. But I waited till 7pm ( when they close). I waited for an hour so they can squeeze me in somehow. Brazillian at this place takes no more than 7 mins. They are super fast. So even if they were fully booked. The fact that I waited for an hour, they could have seen me after their other clients or somehow squeezed me in. Gavi was totally inconsiderate. She didn't even apologize. She was down right mean. I get it they have a lot of bookings and clients but it won't kill them to once in a while go a little out of their way to be nice to a recurring client. This has left a terrible taste in my mouth and I'm never going back here every again. read more

5 stars all the way! I would give 10 if it were possible.Pai and Jane are the sweetest! They are so down to earth, very professional and are such sweethearts! They don't accept any tips, which they well deserve!! They are ALWAYS on time, and communicate every step of the way. They make the waxing experience a lot more comfortable- because let's face it.. it's probably one of the worst things to do.. but beauty is pain right? I am so happy that they're close to home, I don't trust anyone else! read more

Absolutely love this place! I've never gotten a Brazilian wax before and was very reluctant to get one until I found this place on yelp. I went into my appointment fully expecting for the most painful experience ever but Jane made it so much better by talking to me and making me laugh the whole entire time! 10/10 recommend! If you're looking to get a Brazilian wax come to this place I promise you won't regret it one bit! read more

Jane is a vindictive hypocrite. At first she seems nice, but after multiple years of seeing her, I've discovered the real Jane. I've been seeing Jane for many years, and have "always" arrived 15 minutes early to ensure she's not waiting on me. In September, my Boss called me into a meeting that conflicted with my appointment, and I immediately wrote early in the early morning, apologizing and letting her know that I needed to move my reservation (it was about 4.5 hours prior to my appointment). I received a message from Jane scolding me for "putting her in a bad position" and that she would have difficulty filling that slot to bring in revenue. I once again apologized. When I arrived for my next appointment, I met with Pai (great person), and I offered to pay for the last appointment, and she said it wasn't a big deal, and they were able to fill the slot, so they didn't lose any money. Flash forward to my next appointment - I arrive 15 minutes early as usual, and wait, and wait, and then about 10 minutes after my scheduled appointment, Jane comes out and says "you didn't get my email?" I responded that I didn't receive any message. She said that she had to cancel my appointment, and that she couldn't take me in for another 2 hours, since she was back-to-back until 7:00 PM. She said that Pai had to leave and that caused problems with the schedule. I told her to forget it (as I couldn't wait that long on a Friday night). After thinking about this for a bit, I started to realize that this was worse than what I had done to her, and it was truly a waste of my time (driving there, waiting, then driving home - 2 hours total). I wrote to her in a professional manner, asking why I was not offered the courtesy that she wanted from their customers? I told her that I was disappointed. How can she scold me for giving them notice, and then turn around and not provide me with the courtesy of a phone call, text or email (I received none of that)? The next message I got really took the cake. Jane said that I should now find another waxer that is closer to my home. I've been blackballed! All because I asked for a courtesy notice of cancellation - something any business should provide. Can you say Vindictive-Hypocrite? read more

Had my usual appointment today. Fastest, funniest most thorough esthetician in town !! Ive been seeing Jane for about 3 years. Always does an amazing job. I saw Pai a couple visits ago when Jane was booked. She did an great job as well. Id be happy to see her whenever Jane is to booked or on vacation. Though i don't think her work ethic allows such things read more

I just had my very first Brazilian experience today with Jane and she was super professional. 6 minutes went by super fast and to be honest the pain wasn't that bad! read more

I mean no one likes going thru this (do they?) but Jane makes it pretty bearable & having tequila onsite is a nice touch!! She talks you thru it to distract you from the horrible pain it is to keep up with our lady parts & she's very knowledgeable & blunt, which I can appreciate! Anna - did her thing with my brows too!!! They make a good team!! read more

Very friendly atmosphere and professional. Did a great job waxing, very happy I came to this spot!

I rarely give 5 stars to any business, but I definitely feel like I've found my new go to waxing place! I came across this place while searching for a new waxer in the area. I thoroughly read through all of the reviews posted and decided to make an appointment with Jane! First and foremost, scheduling an appointment is so convenient here. You can just call or text them to e-mail you available appointments that week. Once you've chosen your top 2, you reply to the email and you have one scheduled! I was lucky enough to snag an appointment after work with Jane. I'm so glad that I decided to come here! It's definitely a cute, little spot that's super CLEAN (so very important to me). Jane took me in RIGJT at 6 PM and the whole process took 8 minutes for a Brazilian. Freaking insane and it was less painful than my experiences with other waxers. OH and it cost $40 (no tipping policy), which is even more insane! LOVE LOVE LOVE - I'll definitely be coming back! :) read more

I love coming to Jane for my Brazilian wax. Why? 1. It's $40 flat. 2. She actually makes conversation with you and is very easy to talk to feels like my home girl is waxing me. 3. Making an appointment is super easy, just email her the day you want to be waxed and she'll give you a few choices of time to choose from. 4. Parking is easy to find. 5. She's hot for a mom. 6. She waxes super fast and does an excellent job on tweezing the ones that are left behind. 7. Oh! Don't forget to sign up for her email subscription, her emails will make you chuckle Thank you Jane for the great service and awesome personality. I wish you a billion years of good karma. ^___^ read more

A huge fan when they were located near SR and still a huge fan. I'd follow this girl to Antarctica. Love waxing with Jane. She's quick, efficient - gets you in and out because we all know no one likes a prolonged Brazilian. I always enjoy her humor and sarcasm, the no tipping policy is just a plus because lets be real, it can get awkward. I do not kid, but she literally is done with me in 5, 7 minutes max and she'll keep it real and tell me I came in too prematurely or to wait longer next time. Another plus is that I was also introduced to Anna for my brows through Jane. I am one of those people that started waxing my brows at a young age and sadly, some of it never came back! Anna, has been so huge in helping me grow them back out. I don't dare touch them in between now because I never know what hair is precious. It's SO convenient to go knock out two birds with one stone. They'll coordinate to schedule you back to back. Anna herself is also great, super personable. Love this duo - I hope things never change! read more

Because her location moved from shampoo dolls I have to move my review as well! It's about time I write jane a review. I've been going to jane for as long as +8 years. I always come to her for a Brazilian wax. Amazing how time flies and since I've been with my boyfriend that long that's how long I've been seeing jane about once a month. Very professional small tiny lady! Yes, first time waxing always hurt but if you keep up with maintenance, you are in and out of that door. She makes conversation for you to forget that moment she's about to pull the first strip! After completion of waxing she always checks for ingrowns and always ask before she proceeds. She also has some type of movie or comedy playing on her TV. She is extremely fast and a perfectionist at what she does!! I am literally in and out about 5 minutes fastest ever! She's awesome and I can't say more but she has been my one and only go to lady! I've only cheated on her once but that's because she was on vacation but now she has a new lady Pai who is there when jane is off or clients are asking for a later time. I have not yet to try Pai only when Jane is not available. Scheduling--- She's very responsive by email! Go onto her website and follow the directions below: 1. Pick the service you want 2. Pick a date and time 3. Email her directly (DO NOT TRY TO BOOK ON THE WEBSITE) It's very simple and easy to pick a date and time. Jane has always been very accommodating with scheduling (if you are late be prepared because it's going to hurt a lot more than if you were not late to your appt jk!) could be true but I've only been late once! LOCATION-- Her decor inside her little place is always so cute and modern. Every month I come back there is something new! She has shots available and some sort of candy in the waiting area. Yum my favorite Andes (keep it coming jane!) Her place is located across from O'connor hospital and parking is available in the back. Love the modern decor she has! Continuous new decor every time I come back! Love it!! Service--- She has a variety of services and all sorts of waxing of body parts for both men and woman!! One thing she does not do is eyebrow! She has someone she can refer to though! I've only had Brazilian waxing done by Jane and since I like her so much I am sure I will also be satisfied with other waxing services if I had them done. Pricing-- Pricing is firm-- no tips excepted!!! She refuse to take tips because she truly believes in quality of her work and why accept tips when you should pay strictly for the service you asked for. I have tried many times to give her tips but never once have ever excepted! In return I always like to get small gifts every now and then-- especially Christmas! Brazilian waxing was $39 but she did increase it by a dollar which is now $40 since a couple of months ago. No big deal whatever jane charges I'll pay! She's that good!!! read more

I was so glad to find Ted D Bare thanks to all of the Yelpers who gave this spot glowing reviews! There was a potential scheduling snafu in the works initially but thankfully it was resolved quickly in large part to some swift communication on their end and I was able to get in with Pai at my desired time. She was such a doll to work with and really did keep my mind off the pain... for the most part. I can honestly say that it hurts A TON in the moment, but the pain goes away fast and when you have 30 Rock to watch and someone so friendly and personable to talk to during the process, who really cares? Amid all the chit chat, Pai shared tips and tricks on how to get the most out of the work she was doing and how to properly care for yourself post-wax. I found that to be extremely helpful and was impressed by the professionalism of the entire staff on all levels. And as much as you want to tip - because you'll want to - I totally respect their no-nonsense no tipping and cash only policies; it's straight forward business practices like these that drive customer loyalty because you know what you'll get every single time. I'm looking forward to going back for another service when the time comes! read more

There's nothing I can say that will add to Jane's 5 star perfection. But I shall make a sweet attempt. I have been seeing Jane for the past 5 years, and I have got to be--no doubt--the most annoying, frustrating client due to the fact that 1. I've been late in her small 15 min window and 2. I get waxed according to my inconsistent--sometimes non-existent sex life. Marriage and baby basically took a toll on my relationship with Pain Jane...but she still sets aside time for me, nonetheless! And I assure you, she's nothing short of AMAZAINGINGINGING!!!!! I can't say enough great things about Jane. You'll be hair-free and thoroughly entertained by her awesome personality! A top notch highly trained, overly qualified esthetician-- She's simply put, THE BEST! Book an appt now. Literally, right NOW. ;) read more

All hail to the waxing queen Pai - one rad chick that does an excellent job quickly while keeping your mind more or less off of the pain going on down south, with her witty conversation. All my furry friends will be getting an enthusiastic recommendation from me! read more

Jane and Pai are the hair anarchists at Ted D Bare and they've seriously unlocked something amazing with their waxing services. I'm completely sold on them. There is no going back to anyone else after finding Ted D Bare. They make scheduling extremely convenient and easy. Every time I've made an appointment with them, it's been as simple as emailing them and then getting back a list of times (which vary in their time of day and day of the week) and you email them back with a couple of times that work and then they'll reserve the spot for you! Sometimes, even if the time I request gets taken, they're really flexible and try to make it work for your schedule and squeeze you in at around the same time. At Ted D Bare, you're in and out in about 10-15 minutes, which is really quick and efficient. I've only booked appointments with Pai. I can only speak for her services but with her, she makes waxing as painless as it could possibly be (when you're getting your hair ripped from its follicles). She talks through the whole thing and she's just so personable! She's basically your best friend for that time, talking about whatever floats your boat and distracting you from the pain. And let's not forget about the price. Ted D Bare has a no tipping policy and their prices are such steals! If you're looking for a new go-to waxing place in the Bay Area, please do not hesitate to hit up Ted D Bare. read more

Okay, so there's not enough reviews about Gavi on here to comfort your everyday girl, and I'm here to TRY to do that for you. As a frequent waxer (2.5 years going now?), I went with my friend who has never waxed this morning. I frequent Jane, and once in a while, Pai. Gavi had one SUPER detailed bad review, and two good but not very detailed reviews. Gavi is so sweet. She's relatable and easy to talk to, and she's quick at what she does. My friend didn't think it was that bad, and I honestly didn't either. Gavi knows what she's doing. She doesn't wax over the same spot or some bullshit I read. My precious region is super clean (per usual from this place). SO, if you're debating whether you should book an appt with Gavi whether you are a new waxer or not, YOU CAN RELY ON HER. read more

JANE IS THE BEST. I've been going to Ted D Bare to see Jane for years, and I mean yeeeeeaaars. Like... 7 years is that right?? And I am amazed at how good Jane is at what she does and how she runs her business. Between her two Yelp pages (because she's moved locations), there are currently 400+ reviews with an AVERAGE of a full 5-stars. What kind of sorcery??! How many businesses do YOU know that can garner that much praise and affection?? She doesn't even do that "get a discount if you write me a review" or whatever. They. Are. All. LEGIT. I definitely admire her, obviously. Try Ted D Bare!!! It will be fun actually : ) read more

First time coming here after hearing so much about it I got a Brazilian and underarm, first off super cute place, great prices and I had a great experience! Thank you so much Rika! She was so sweet and funny we talked during the appointment and I was able to take my mind off the discomfort. She was super quick and did a great job! I will definitely recommend to friends and family read more

I gotta give a 5+ Star to my girl, my goddess, my muse....Jane. I've been going to Jane for almost two years, and there has been no one else to see my private goodies. Also to add, I've lived in LA for the past two years and come back to SJ about every 6 weeks and ALWAYS go to Jane. IF that isn't loyalty, I don't what is. She's funny, fast, efficient, and will make you laugh. She's also to the point and is reliable. It feels so odd to feel so close to someone who spends 7 minutes on waxing you and performing pure pain, but she honestly does it with such grace. ~yas qween~ Also, Anna is great with eyebrows! She gets booked FASTTTT, so make an appointment about 1-2 weeks advance as she's only there a couple days a week. Plus, easy parking and cute studio! Yay! Thanks, ladies! read more

This place is a hidden gem, and I'm so glad I found a new wax spot. Cutest little shop ever! :) My service was with Pai. I got my upper lip and Brazilian done. She's a very straight up, no bs type of gal. Don't have too much to say, since it was pretty much in and out. The only thing I would have to point out is that it would've been nice if she was gentler. Especially when waxing on the insides of the v (sorry tmi) it could be done less forceful, bc it felt very uncomfortable. I'm pretty sensitive so those little details count for a lot. The best things about this place are #1: very decent prices #2: NO TIP POLICY! I paid $50 for my Brazilian AND upper lip! Other places charge $65-70 for one damn service... Next time I will try and book an appt. with Jane to see which esthetician I prefer, since they call her "waxing God" Overall good experience! read more

I really wanted to visit here. But they are not answering the phone neither emails. This 3 star is because of that. I don't know their works. read more

I love love love the new location! So happy Ted D Bare has its own location now!!! I've been going to Jane since I moved here from Ohio in 2011. I dreaded the thought of finding a new aesthetician but a friend of mine recommended me to Jane and I was not disappointed! She gets me in and out in 15 min or less. I unlike others (yelpers who give 1 star!) love that Jane doesn't take 30 minutes to torture me. She makes it quick, entertaining, and painless! read more

I could not wait to do this review... So first off I have been waxing for about 3 years now and I have been going to European wax center. Well after today European wax center who?? Let me just say Jane is amazing my friend recommended me to her. I was kind of hesitate since i have been going to one girl since I started waxing. But Jane made me feel so comfortable and her location is in a great spot with easy parking. I get my eyebrows done here to so now i just have a one spot stop for all my needs. Jane is so fast that you don't even have time to think about what is going on. I swear i was in out like nothing she is very talkative which I love. Bottom line is she is amazing and I love her so ladies and Gents if you are looking for amazing waxer Jane is your girl. read more

First time getting a manzillian. Jane was quick in answering booking questions. Ended up with pai who was great. I was in and out in 10 minutes. My hair cut shortly after took longer. Ha. Experience itself was good. Unpleasant in some areas but it wasn't painful. Twig and berries + bum parts were easy, almost painless (95% painless, 5%unpleasant), it was the pubic symphosis area was the most unpleasant. Definitely coming back. read more

This review is long overdue. I've been going to Pain Jane for Brazilians since 2015. All my friends go to her. She is the best! She talks to you so you get distracted and the pain is not that bad. It's over before you know it! Takes about 10-15 min max. And I love their business model of just charging a flat fee with no tips. It just makes it easier and more convenient. Highly recommend this place. And, even though I live in San Francisco I still come here! read more

I've been seeing Jane and Pai for years and they're both amazing people who are wonderful at their craft! Recently I've been seeing Mandy and I love her equally as much. She's SO FUNNY, real, honest and just a great person. I love talking to her during my sessions and hearing her input on things. Let me tell you that I'm not a very hairy person, so it was pretty painless and fast. The esthetician Pai was amazing very cool, calm, understanding and super helpful distracting me from the awkwardness that radiates through me. This was only my second Brazilian in my lifetime. Did I mention I'm not a very hairy person so it truly wasn't painful for me. I was in out and on with life in less than 15 minutes. I was expecting this to be a lot harder on me than sugaring, but I was super surprised. Sugaring was far more painful, costly and time consuming! No really 50 minutes of hard core pain with a heavy price tag. It was my first time and I had more hair then I did today. I also noticed the sugaring didn't remove every single hair. I will for sure be driving out of my way to be seeing them again, not only because of the cost and the work that they do, but the people they hire are The Best. Thanks pai read more

Great experience! It was fast and does not hurt too bad. Definitely recommend this place to people who is looking for a waxing place

I've been coming here since 2016 and I'll never go anywhere else. As someone who's a licensed cosmetologist with a business of my own, I always check places with beauty services for cleanliness and organization and this place passes with flying colors. On top of that, it's decorated so perfectly and makes you feel so comfortable. The staff is warm and hilarious. I've been waxed by Jane and Pai but I'm more of a consistent customer with PAIN JANE. She's crazy fast and efficient, she's fun, and she keeps you talking so that you're distracted from the waxing. I've gotten my friends to start coming here throughout the years and they love it here as well. I would plan to get waxed a week ahead so that you have plenty of time to pick a spot on the calendar for your appointment as slots get filled up fast. read more

Loving this new location! Parking is so much easier to get in and out of and you don't have to deal with the shopping traffic by Santana row and valley fair. I was looking for a new esthetician about 2 years ago so my best friend recommended Jane and She's been my go to ever since. I even got a couple of my friends who only see her now. She's super accommodating too. If I email her last minute, she somehow finds a way to squeeze me in. She gets the job done in a timely manner without sacrificing quality and never makes the process awkward but always straight to the point. You gotta love her no tipping policy too! Im not writing this review to become a yelp elite like some other person mentioned in a review at the previous location that all these people do it for that reason. I couldn't care less even though it would be nice lol. I've seen some 1 star reviews just because they couldn't get an appointment with her which is ridiculous because if you've never gotten any of her services, your review is unwarranted. It's not hard to get an appointment with her but Jane does get busy and her appointment slots fill up fast so when you email her for an appointment, include other time slots that can work for you so you don't have to play the waiting game when you email her. I'm a stickler when it comes to good customer service and There's a reason she has so many good reviews, because she's that awesome! read more

Love this woman. Pain Jane is THE Brazilian master. I moved to NYC almost three years ago, heartbroken I had to let go of my amazing wax woman- but I come back every time I'm back in the bay. Couldn't believe she remembered me! She is a quick, straight to the point, no frills waxer- and she's damn good at it. She can get me bare in less than 15 minutes!
