This is the second time I have used this company. The first time the work was done while I waited and I left very happy. At the time we talked about some future work I would like done by them during the winter.
This time, the second, I had some sewing on a leather jacket, a zipper that needed a new pull on the jacket and a motorcycle bag that needed a new zipper slide. it was supposed to be ready the following week. They took my cell number to contact me when everything was ready. I prepaid, good work was done the first time I dealt with them.
The following week I heard nothing. The first of the following week I called, the work was ready. Subsequently we figured out that my phone number was recorded wrong. One digit off. So no call.
When I picked up my jacket and bag, the bag had a brass slider in place of the original black one and the zipper was torn up where they had to cut it to replace the slide. There was no attempt to fix that torn up part past using a black staple to close the zipper and leaving the small section of the torn up zipper visible.
The jacket did not have the repairs done that I brought it in for but they did fix another spot I had not seen. So thanks for that? Todd offered to immediately fix the original repair requested while I waited. I waited.
After the original sewing repair was done, I had to point out where stitching near the jacket zipper had been cut so his machine could do its work on the seam that needed to be resewn on the jacket. This was the original repair requested. It went back behind the counter for this to be done.
Finally, the zipper pull I wanted replaced on the jacket was not done. Todd did offer to fix this also. I was beginning to get a bit short tempered, so I declined and took my items before I said something I would feel bad about later.
In good conscience, I cannot recommend this business and would not recommend Park Shoe Repair in Ann Arbor either as they are owned by the same people.
This review makes me sad as I was very excited about a local shop I could give my business to. They were very accommodating on my first repair and I was so very, very disappointed after my second attempt to give them my business. I now have to find another place to do a black zipper slider on the bag for me and fix the zipper pull on my jacket that I have already paid for once. read more
