Great store! When we were there it was a little understaffed or maybe over attended because it was after the Stockyards cattle drive. It was also ridiculously hot outside and we had to look up their location to find them because they are not right in the middle of the stockyards area where a lot of the other shops are. The walk to them isn't far but when it is a million degrees out, it felt longer than it actually is. They are a great store that makes a high quality products (hats and boots) that are not inexpensive but are priced well for a really nice product. Which is why it was so crowded while we were there. read more

I've always loved Tecovas boots--my husband and I each own two pairs, and we even convinced my sister to get her first pair. We decided to make it a special experience and went to the store together to have them branded. While the front staff greeting us was very friendly, the in-store experience left much to be desired. We went straight to the branding station and waited in front of the counter. Despite being there before others, several people were helped ahead of us. When they finally got to us, we decided to browse the store while waiting for the service. Throughout our visit, only one associate asked if we needed help, and no one offered us a drink, though I noticed many of the white patrons were being offered refreshments. Sadly, I also observed that no other Hispanic customers seemed to be offered drinks either--it wasn't just us. It's disappointing to feel this kind of treatment in 2024, especially after having just purchased. I'm seriously reconsidering visiting the store again and will likely stick to online shopping moving forward. read more

I hadn't heard of this store before going intentionally to Northside to visit and look for boots for a friend, not necessarily for me! Until I got there. The store is nice / clean / simple and the staff was very helpful. They had limited stock, possibly due to the stock show wrapping up. Price points are better than some of the other brands in the area and the quality seems really good. Online reviews are great too. The staff helped fit me for my size and since they didn't have the black cowboy boots I was interested in they put my name on a wait list and I got an email today they were back in stock online. I wouldn't have been able to order the proper size online had I not gone in the store and tried them on. I was a 1/2 to possibly full size less than I normally wear. I ended up ordering 2 sizes since I'm not 100 % sure but I would have been way off and reviews said returns are easy so I felt confident in my decision. I've been wanting black cowboy boots for some time now. Can't wait to wear them. Fingers crossed they're a perfect fit. Update: got my boots in 2 days. They're beautiful. Still need to try them on with boot socks because they slip. Seems like the 7.5 is fitting best and I'm normally an 8.5. Quality is great. They're beautiful and I can see wearing them dressed up with skinny jeans or leggings, dresses / shorts or under boot jeans. Very versatile and great price compared to others in the area. Traveled about 2 hours from Sheppard AFB to make sure I got the right fit for my boots. Michael and the whole staff were wonderful. Very knowledgeable, brought out several sizes, answered all my questions, and even offered me a cold-frosty beverage..lol. While in the Stockyards the wife and I shopped at several stores for a new pair of boots. Luchesse, Leddy, Cavenders, and many others. But made our final choice here. Price, selection, and service this store was spot on. Instead of rows and rows of different boots, these were arranged were you could see the boot you wanted, the price and once you picked it out a salesperson would fix you a cocktail and then go to the back and pull your boots to try on. I needed to fitted to make sure I got the right size. And although they did not have mine in stock they are being delivered to my house via free shipping in 3 days. read more

Huge plus is they make (and stock) size 12 womens shoes. I love the bar at the front where you can get a beer or ranch water on the house while you shop. The staff was friendly and I had a great experience. I tried on two pairs of boots and chose the Annie in Sienna suede and my fiancé got The Cartwright in Bourbon calf. We wore them that evening and my feet didn't hurt one bit. The soles have memory foam and a bit of cork to reduce the shock. They are so comfortable! I'll be back again now that I'm a fan! Born and raised in Fort Worth. When asking around about where to get the best cowboy boots. Many mentioned Tecovas. I looked online and saw a pair that interest me and wanted to try them on in person. Walking in with the intent to purchase. I was very disappointed in the treatment me and my family received. No welcome, no "how can I help you" just stares and looks of disgust. I proceeded to the shoe section where an associate asked everyone around me if they needed help except me. The people inside were so rude that my 6 year old daughter looked to me and asked "mommy, why are they all staring at us?". Everyone could stare but no one could assist us. I felt invisible and like a zoo animal on display all at the same time. I quickly learned that my money was not wanted there. Very disappointed, I didn't even get to try on a pair of boots because no one wanted to help us. Might as well put on the front door "No blacks allowed". It was blatant racism. It was obvious we weren't wanted. It breaks my heart to have unknowingly brought my daughter into an environment where she would be made to feel uncomfortable and wouldn't be accepted. We stopped by this past chilly Saturday evening so I could finally get my husband into a pair of boots. No one greeted us after we circled entire store. No one offered assistance. I had to ask a salesperson if she could go get two pairs of boots for me ( for my husband & his friend) , she looked annoyed I'd asked. She brings one pair and says they don't have the other size so I asked if she could bring it in black. This whole time most of the shoppers are browsing w/with their complimentary Ranch water , but not us , because no one offered. Long story short, she never came back to check on us, never brought the black boots , as a matter of fact I looked up and she was chatting up another couple with their baby. I'm not a Karen so I didn't get indignant or make a scene . We just walked past her and left , no new boots , and utter dissatisfaction with this Store & employees . Just caught the cowboy boot bug so on a recent trip I drove over to FTW and the Stockyards. Yeah I get it, touristy...but I thought "most selection in one area" without going to one of the huge chains...result was a mixed back of small selection or sky high priced custom. Sales team was great, offered me a refreshing drink while I shopped, explained their line and never tried a hard sell. Place itself was new and comfortable with a ton of places to sit. Yes Tecovas is an Austin thing and can at sometime rub traditional buyers the wrong way. But honestly I do don't get any hipster vibe at all. After all their great care we came away with 3 pair of boots...The Jackson, The Jessie and The Earl...one for each of the family members...along with some gaiters and cozies...but we could not get them to throw in a hat, darn it. It is especially hard to find boots for my Hubby and Son due to them having a screw in their ankle from previous surgery. These boots slip on like butter and do not hurt them when they walk. Honesty, I love the brand, but their customer service has gone in the drain lately. I have tried to go in store to try on boots 3 separate times and never once gotten anyone to help me in order to do so. A year ago I couldn't have gotten two steps in without someone offering a drink and spending the time to help while I shopped (we have 7 pairs) just sucks because it was the thing I loved the brand.
