We used Paul Motal Concrete to pour the foundation for our new home. They did excellent work, and…read morewe have been very happy with the results. Having a strong foundation was very important to us. They met all our specifications, deep trenches, well-packed dirt, plenty of rebar, and thick cement. They were careful to follow our hand-drawn plans, and when we did have a couple of issues, they were quick to correct them. Framing our house has been made easier because the slab dimensions are all correct and very square. My husband has built several homes before this one. This is one of the best slabs he has had done.

We are putting our home on the market, but needed to get some things updated/repaired first. John understood our goal and worked within our budget to get everything done. He and his crew were very nice, showed up on time and worked neatly and professionally. We used them to paint (interior and exterior), re-tile a shower and hang new glass doors, repair drywall/sheetrock, install new tile, and a few other things. They exceeded our expectations! Thanks for a job well done!

Build a floor to ceiling pantry out of thin air? Its done. Tile a bathroom or three? Done! Wood flooring, travertine in the wet areas? No problem. New windows and siding in TX summer heat? Done. Painting inside and out, even when I change my colors half way through? Check. Install a dozen light fixtures and ceiling fans? Done. Replace two water heaters, rebuild an AC return closet? John can (and has) done all of this and more for me. There is nothing I would not trust John Foster to do, fix or build in my home. I don't even mess around with competing bids, I just call John and get the work done. I can't recommend him highly enough!

We worked with local, family-owned CG&S on an exterior renovation - updating our 1940s home to…read moreCraftsman style. Our home had no original details, but did have a lot of the original exterior materials. The team had to meticulously remove our particle board siding in sections and reseal as there were no exterior walls/wrap and our insulation was just under the siding; shim the roof level while regarding interior drywall as we don't have attic space; shim walls to align with varying depths of windows hung by another company; re-run electrical; and then add wood siding, two new decks with detailed craftsman woodwork, a custom front door, and other finishes. Working on our older home was harder than starting fresh and they handled it with care. Handling permitting was also in their remit and we were glad it was. Our architect handled forms for historical buildings/neighborhoods, city arborists, easements, and other zoning debacles. When we were limited by the city's requirements for expanding our porch, our architect adjusted our plans as best she could to still have a beautiful outcome. We also appreciated most of the subcontractors selected for the job. While the budget was hard to talk about up front, we didn't have any change orders due to surprises - unlike our interior reno project. With any long term renovation project it was important to stay in communication, keep notes, and ask questions and most stressful moments were quickly addressed by the team. The CG&S owners still invite us to their annual tamale dinner and treat us like family. We hope to do another project with them some day!
