However, after just a few minutes, Evan informed me that my hardware was in good condition. He only needed to address the "software bloat" to get my computer back in order. He also assured me that once this was done, I would likely have another two years before needing to worry about replacing my computer. We spoke on a Friday, and he kindly asked if I needed my computer back over the weekend or if I was okay leaving it for him to start working on it the following Monday afternoon. I chose to wait until Monday so I could finish a few more tasks. I dropped off my computer on Monday evening and picked it up the next day. Brian quoted me at $485 for two upgrades all parts including ($200+ for parts) Brian showed up 15 minutes late then he opened up my Mac Book pro with a shank ( large knife) horrified I asked why he wasn't using suction cups and plastic openers. My computer ended up scratched up from his knife lowering my computers value. He switched out the hard drive in 15 minutes after watching a few YouTube videos. Then he told me he forgot the tools to upgrade the ram. I was very confused because we discussed micro soldering via text. Brian then charged me $250 for his 20 minutes of work. I provided the $150 hard drive. He told me he would offer a discount for a second visit with the tools he forgot. The second trip would cost me $300 plus an additional $232 for more parts. His original estimate of $485 turned into $933. At the end of the day my computer is scratched up, he was late, not prepared, didn't bring the correct tools, his estimates $150 hour doubled, and taking out a shank at a clients home is not professional. Unfortunately he's not a Mac expert and I would not recommend.
