I've been to Tease a few times and every time I've walked away absolutely in love with my new haircut! The stylists here are incredibly talented and make the entire experience completely enjoyable! Let me just say that any hair appointment that starts off with a glass of wine is exceptional in my book! You have the option of soda and water too but you get multiple options for red and white wines! Also, you get a cape with little arm holes so you can even hold your beverage! The stylists I've had were always knowledgeable about their products, process and the absolute best cut for my hair type & face shape, but also stay true to the pictures I brought in. They also took the time to show me a few tips and tricks for styling my hair. The reception area is also super friendly and accommodating for my crazy schedule. I've even forgotten my credit card one day when I was running late and they let me call back the next day to pay by phone. I'm so incredibly thankful for their understanding during my scatterbrained moment that day! Parking isn't usually an issue but arrive a few minutes early in case you end up walking a block or two. I came in to Tease to show my vision; although it wasn't as clear as I wanted, the hairstylist was able to help me figure out what I really wanted. I came out of the salon happy and transformed. They treated me really well; while waiting entertained myself with some magazines, which is typical of a salon. I like their waiting area though, it's very Bayview-like and hipsterish with elegant vintage furniture. Then while waiting for my hair to get bleached I was offered some refreshment. I've finally found my salon home! I waited in my car until I was texted that I could come in (COVID- 19 rule) and was led upstairs. My stylist, Hailee, was kind and very receptive to what I was looking for. I wanted a root touch up, and they had to somehow mix colors exactly to what someone has lightened their hair by several shades to- that is not easy people! There was another very helpful stylist seeing another client, but I appreciated that he was giving advice on what colors to mix. The place is spacious and I like that they sell earrings from local artists. I appreciate that I can look at them while I'm waiting with my hair. After they washed my hair and the final product was revealed, they matched my current color EXACTLY and no damaging bleach was needed! They were efficient and I was done within the hour. I've been getting my hair done at Tease for a couple years now and figured it was long-past time to give it the glowing 5-star review it deserves! I've never had a bad experience at Tease. Everyone is friendly and welcoming, and the space is very inviting. They have this "antique chic" aesthetic (I think I made that up...is that a real thing?), with all of these cool pieces of antique furniture, but the salon still feels very modern and clean. My stylist, Josie, is just the best! She is a true hair coloring artist and always has the best ideas for my hair. At this point, I just trust her to do her thing! If you are feeling adventurous with your hair color, especially if you are looking to add bold colors, I recommend asking for Josie. I also like that Tease sends text reminders for upcoming appointments. Simple and efficient. I recommend Tease salon to all of my friends. Definitely check them out! read more

Have been going to Tease for a number of years. Tony is my "go to" stylist. When I first met him I had dyed hair to cover the gray. We talked about going to gray and he took me through that process while making my hair look good with highlights and lowlights. It took some time but I always loved the cut and how the process went. There are certain things you need when you move into a new town; a grocery store, a doctor, an eatery and one of the most important....a hair-stylist!! Located on an adorable street in Bayview, Tease was easy to find and I did not have any trouble finding a parking space (praise jesus because I am possibly the most parking challenged individual ever). I was a little early because I wasn't sure how to get there and the staff made me feel welcome right away. I just knew Tease and I were going to be friends when they asked me if I wanted Bailey's in my coffee. (I will next time). Joe had me in his chair right on time and made me feel very welcome to Tease and Milwaukee. We did a blow-out today in which he knew exactly how to give me that southern girl volume (the higher the hair the closer to God ya'll). Looking forward to going back for a trim and color. I walked in to Tease late one Monday night, finally fed up with my disastrous hair that hadn't been cut in a year because I am terrified of potentially bad haircuts. I was on a flight out of town the next day (I live in PA), but they miraculously had one slot open with Josh Hambly. Knowing nothing about him, other than great reviews about the salon in general on Yelp, I jumped in and booked it. Arriving at the salon the next day, Josh was friendly and put me completely at ease, reassuring me that he'd seen (and fixed) hair that was much worse than what I'd walked in with. We sat down and he asked me what my issues with my hair were, what I'd like to change. Then he proceeded to science nerd out at me, explaining how and why my hair was changing (going grey alters the chemical composition of your hair, which is why it was behaving in ways that I'd never experienced before. Science!), and what I could do to manage it. He looked at pictures of previous haircuts I'd had that I liked, and even though they weren't very good, he clearly had a great understanding of where I was trying to go with things, even though my ability understand, let alone express, haircut desires is basically zilch. He then took me through a long, patient explanation of how he cuts hair - Josh does a dry cut, which I'd never heard of before - but apparently it took him two and half years to learn how to do it correctly. I don't know what sort of magic sorcery went in to that training, but it turned out AWESOME! My cut was stress free, and exactly what I wanted. We did the shampoo and condition (Josh gives a crazy intense scalp massage - I'd book him again just for that!) after the cut, then he blow dried my hair - and then straightened it, after all the work, because I am both neurotic and hate my hair looking "puffy". He explained every single product he put in there, and instructed me on how I can take care of it at home - even with my limited (non-existent) hair care skills. In sum, Josh is one of the best stylists I've ever been to, to the extent that I'm seriously considering flying back to Milwaukee on the semi-regular just so I can let him take care of things. After almost a year of driving 500 miles back home to get my hair cut, I finally decided to find a stylist in Milwaukee. I have pretty curly hair and I've had more bad hair cuts than I could count, so I'm very cautious about who I'll let touch it. I called Tease and they suggested Josh. Thank goodness they did. Josh was great. The time absolutely flew by and he clearly knew what he was doing with my hair. The shape of it looks great and it's curling much better than it was before. Very few stylists have ever nailed styling my hair, but I walked out feeling great about how it looked. I came across Tease in a roundabout way. A year ago, I was new in town and going to pick up my dining room table from a Craigslist posting. I had just had a so so hair cut for big money at another salon (Neroli). As I was chatting with the table seller, he mentioned he owned Tease and that I should check it out. Eight weeks later when I needed to get a cut and color, I called Tease and took whatever stylist was available, and I am glad I got Monica! I have thick, semi course, long hair that I either all over color or highlight on a 6 to 8 week rotation. Most of the challenge hair stylists have with my hair is shaping and removing bulk. Monica is great about cutting channels that allows my heavy hair to have movement and she is full of suggestions when I want to switch up my color. My mom has even insisted that I take my sister to my stylist, and that is just about the best compliment my mom has ever given me. The pricing is affordable. I have not had a problem with squeezing in an appointment if necessary. They recently switched product lines, and I have liked what I have bought so far. read more

From the moment I walked into Tease, I felt welcomed. Dan is the owner as well as my stylist and I love him to death. I have had many interactions with the rest of the staff and they are great as well. I'm one of those people that has been to half the salons in the metro area always looking for the "right" one and I finally think I found it. Dan is a magician when it comes to hair color. I am notoriously indecisive (which is probably maddening for hairstylists!), but he takes charge and even when I leave the salon not-quite-sure if I like it, by the next day I'm absolutely convinced that he picked the best color/style for me. He also knows which magazines I like and puts them aside for me ahead of time. :) One of the greatest characteristics about Dan is that he consistently stays on top of his education as a stylist. But my most favorite thing about him is that he is absolutely accommodating - even if it completely inconveniences him (not that you'd ever know, because he never complains). Since I've been going to him (about 2 years), the salon has implemented a better system for booking appointments, but I appreciate so much that I can shoot him a text to tell him I am running a few minutes behind or to ask about future openings, and he always responds. He will even sometimes text me when people cancel and ask if I want to come in early. They do cut kids' hair here, but it's really more of an adult salon. There's not much room for kids to run around or spread out. And I almost forgot to mention that he or the staff will plug your meter for you if time is running out, so you don't even have to get up! (There is free parking down the block, but for me it is more convenient to park at the 2-hour meters on KK). Oh, also, Tease has the best beverage selection ever! :) read more

Called to make a late night appointment because of my crummy work schedule and needed a cut ASAP. The receptionist was able to pencil me right away and because of my shitty work schedule... I would be arriving an hour before they close and 15mins late. The receptionist was a bit uncomfortable making the appointment, but said if I was more than 15mins late... they would forfeit my appointment... which is so strange in my opinion. I get that you're closing, but... still... So I rushed from DT MKE to the salon and managed to get there before the 15minute mark and it was completely fine. The lady that gave me a cut was super chill and cool. She told me not to worry about it and I was so appreciative that Tease could see me last minute and on my time. Thanks a bunch. I will be coming back. P.S. When I left, there was still another customer being seen. Whether they were a friend of the hairdresser or not, it made me feel less of an inconvenience. I moved to Milwaukee in January of 2016 and after doing a little research I booked my first appointment with Josh. I have very thick, frizzy, wavy hair that I have never really liked and Josh knew what to do with it from day one. He is amazing at a dry cut and always picks the best colors for my hair. I have grown my hair from a short (lopsided) cut to long wavy curls (My hair hasn't been this way in 20 years!). I have visited TEASE twice now for 2 very drastic haircuts with Hair Stylist Jessica. I have walked out both times so happy and thrilled! Not only is she amazingly comfortable and listens to what you want but she's great at adding your own personal style and hers to make something more beautiful than you had pictured in your mine. I was terrified to cut my very long hair to a short one she was comforting and both times. I now am rocking some seriously short hair and i am inlove with it! I will not only recommend people to Tease Salon and Jessica but I will no longer ever go anywhere else! After years of searching I found my home salon. From the moment you walk in, you are greeted with a friendly smile, a beverage of choice (who doesn't want a pbr?) and a comfortable atmosphere. Dan is my stylist however I feel as though I know almost everyone there. The stylists are so friendly and always ready to weigh in on any problem you might be having with work, your kids, or your relationship (but not in that weird creepy way) I typically get keratin treatments from Dan, and you would have no idea that 3 hours had passed, he's so fun to talk to, and you can tell he loves what he does. His cuts are amazing and I always get compliments. Also, the product line he has is great, and if you're not familiar, Dan is familiar with it all and can give you a great prescription. I went to Tease for the first time yesterday after it was recommended by a friend, and they exceeded my exceptions. First of all, they have complimentary wine and beer, along side the normal salon beverage options. Wine while getting your hair done is a perfect combination. My hairstylist Amanda was so amazing and took care of all my needs without me even asking. I felt so cared for and worry-free. She really listened to what I wanted to get done with my hair and she provided me with recommendations and samples of hair products without major pressure to buy them. Went in for a free color correction consultation after The Institute for Beauty and Wellness in dt Milwaukee damaged my hair. Guy I saw was nice enough but was in such a hurry cuz his next appointment was there, and I was early for mine and got in within a minute, I Felt nervous and that I couldn't discuss all I wanted to because he was rushing me. Did give me his suggestion as to what he would do so I guess he did his job consulting me. Wouldn't feel comfortable going back there. Didn't seem welcoming at all. And when I came in two employees were sitting chatting and in their phone and I felt as tho I was disturbing them. From his excellent work to the vibe of the salon, I have always had a great experience and actually look forward to having my hair cut now. Tease really pulled through for me on my wedding day though, when they special-opened for us on a Sunday to do hair for 7 people. It made for an easy start to the wedding day for everyone.
