3.75/5 I wanted to round up to the 4/5 for the well-cooked tapoica pearls, but otherwise, this bubble tea wasn't the best I've had. The jasmine tea was overly sweetened, almost in a way to mask the bitterness of the tea. Also, the self-order system with the kiosk made it easier to do what you needed to do and get your drink. Cute place, but it's not somewhere where I'd grab a drink and work on things. Otherwise, it's a decent stop-shop for your bubble tea.
First time visiting this location. I arrived and was told they wouldn't have any boba ready for another 30 minutes. That's fine, I can wait I thought; it was nice outside. 30 minutes pass and I was told there was still no boba ready. I could sense the person working there was overwhelmed and the place was understaffed so I ordered something different. I will say, this location is more spacious than the one on the magnificent mile. However, they may need some help keeping things organized and on brand. My brown sugar milk tea was alright. I'll try this place again another day.

This is a great place to come to if you live in Hyde Park or if you go to school on campus they have a nice selection of drinks and it's really convenient to get. I highly recommend the Thai tea..
Great aesthetics in the store-- modern, cute, and casual perfect for doing work or a catchup with a friend. They had a wide selection of drinks and snacks. The drink was delicious and a nice balance of flavors. The price was a bit steep but good place overall
Cute place and very well placed next to a bumbling college student environment. The set up is very cute and definitely geared towards studying students to hang out. Prices are kind of high given the amount of drink you get. The tea flavor isn't. Incredibly strong, but it's not overpowering with sweetness either. The crystal bobas we're not bad.

There seems to be some thing on the menu that might be new for example the Dalgona Matcha and Dalgona Coffee. At this location, you have to order online and then they will have you pick it up at the store. There are some stools to sit on outside. Weather was nice, but if it's not, make sure to order ahead!

really tasty drink! loved the kiosk for ordering and that there were employees there to answer any questions. i was in a hurry rushing to the airport so i love how fast and easy it was. i ordered the Strawberry Dalgona Matcha W/ Boba. i asked what the difference was between dalgona and reg matcha and they gave me a very great and simple answer. dalgona is a bit creamier. i could taste the difference and grateful i made that choice. it was super cute and clean in there. a place you could work or grab and go. i'd def return if im ever in the area again. read more
This is a cute little cafe in a great location in Hyde Park. There was ample seating and the chairs were comfortable. I was trying to get a drink with little to no caffeine due to it being so late in the day. I ordered a Ube drink that lacked flavor. My companion ordered some mango lemonade and said it was tasty.I'll visit earlier in the day so I can have more options. read more

The common problem with using fresh milk is the dilution of flavor (and probably higher cost?). If you're a purist, you most likely know you will not get the textbook milk tea flavor. If you're a fanatic, you might think...this isn't like milk tea in Taiwan or southern California (2 solid places of reference where good milk tea is everywhere). To each their own but I personally can't enjoy this growing trend. Maybe I'll try different drinks in the future. It's too pricey. My large green milk tea was $6.30. And a long time ago, I paid $7+ for a large sea salt cream green tea. Staff was very nice. A boba a day keeps the doctors away, right? I tried te'amo for the first time recently and was honestly not too impressed. First of all, the drinks are beautiful but also nearly $7. I got the pink matcha and my friend got the regular milk tea and I would say they were ok, but nothing I'd run to. The boba was also very undercooked in my opinion. Get these for the IG Pic but I wouldn't recommend coming here. read more

Once I stepped in, I was like the 7th person in line. This was my first time being here after hearing about all the good reviews that many friends had said. It is a nice hang out place with friends, but I wouldn't recommend it as a good area to study at. It is quite loud in the boba bar. The build was large, but Te'amo is only held on the first floor. It is smaller than expected. After observing the interior of the boba bar I was still the 7th person in line... Ordering process was on the slow side. There was only one cashier and one barista on a Sunday afternoon around 4/5pm. I've waited more than 25 minutes until I was able to order. The cashier was knowledgeable with the items on the menu. They have a rewards program!! But I was not told what their rewards program can do. Took my name and phone number and pretty much that's it. You're in! I ordered the Volcano Milk Tea. Its shown in the picture with this review. I would say... It's not worth the rough $1 extra for less to drink, foam that doesn't dissolve into your drink, and a sprinkle of Oreo? Yes Oreo was sprinkled on top of the foam. For anyone who might be interested in the "Volcano Milk Tea" it's not milk tea. It is Thai Ice Tea with milk foam and Oreo sprinkles on top of the foam. Overall, it's a chill place to hang out with friends, decent place to study, and have a lot to try out. I would go back some time in the future when there's less people at the Boba Bar. read more

Super cute boba place on campus! The decor is super cute with succulents on the walls and pretty light fixtures. The milk tea here is not as great as the decor. I got the Hong Kong style milk tea, which was recommended based on their menu. The taste is almost there, however, it was super watered down. I chose less ice so it's not that the ice had melted. The boba was nice and soft though and I appreciated that- no one likes to bite into a hard tapioca. I like that I have the option to get bubble tea on campus, but I've definitely had better and will probably come here only if I'm super craving bubble tea while I'm in Hyde park. read more

The decor here is spot on but as for the boba, it was just alright. There's a decent amount of tables and seats, making it a great place to study, especially with how close it is to the UChicago campus. I most certainly had a hard time deciding on what to order with all the options to choose from. They have classic milk tea to matcha lattes to ujikintoki smoothies, the possibilities are basically endless. I ended up getting the Te'amo signature organic rose milk tea w/ soy milk & boba. The tapioca was a bit too chewy for my liking (kind of tasted starchy?) and the tea tasted quite watered down, even with light ice. Also, the price is a bit steep for a regular size bubble tea (almost $7). However, what I liked about this place is that you're able to customize your drink. You can choose what kind of milk you want (whole, soy, almond, or coconut - note: that it is an extra 50 cents for the non-dairy options), the % of sweetness, and how much ice. I hope they will open up another location more central Chicago but if I'm in the area again, I would like to try their white moustache matcha! read more

Second time coming here and the quality was consistent. Thus far, this place is the best crema tea place I can find in Chicago (been trying places for a year). Is it the best I've ever had? No, but I've had my fair share of milk tea, so I give this place 4 stars lovingly. I like the tea here better than Joy Yee for sure, but it's not as good at Happy Lemon in my book. My main qualm is that the tea tastes diluted and the boba could be softer. I wish they'd open a store near Northwestern, then I'd probably go a couple times a month. read more

The most expensive, tiniest, and one of the worse (because let's not exaggerate here. It was very watery but I don't know if it really is "the worst") bobas I've ever had in my life. I wanted to love this place. I don't mind paying above market price for boba. I loved the decor - all pastel colors and a huge bear slumped over on a chair. WiFi worked great. My tea was good. I love that they ask you how much ice you want (not much at these prices!). They have a cash back agreement with Groupon so I actually got 84 cents back! However, the bathroom (both men and women) had no toilet paper- okay fine. Then, on my wait out after I had alerted staff to the lack of TP, it struck me that this place is completely and utterly environmentally responsible. In 2019 people we shouldn't be using plastic cups or plastic straws. If we must use them, there needs to be a recycling bin. Behind the counter I must have seen 1000 plastic straws- and that was it - the 1000 straws that broke this camels back. I won't be able to return to this place until they start using biodegradable straws and non plastic cups. If the cups were used for takeaway only, i could u understand but as I was asked a million questions about levels of ice, sweetness, etc, it became evident they don't have a non-plastic-takeaway-container option.
