The backstory is that we originally were working with a different mortgage officer for a different company, but she warned that we weren't going to be able to make the closing date. That freaked us out, and our realtor recommended we switch to Dave. I'm so glad she did, because Dave really stepped in and got things done, as soon as possible. It's like he had a fire lit under his butt and needed to move move move. We really appreciated that. He pushed us to get things turned around quickly, and he pushed everyone else involved in our transaction (especially the escrow company, which was having issues). On his own initiative he contacted the relevant parties (e.g., the escrow company, our financial advisor, our insurance agent) when things were unclear or when they needed to be pushed. And we were able to make our closing date with days to spare, with a solid mortgage at a very competitive interest rate. Dave took the time to explain the complexities and walk us through things, while also pushing things along and sending us reminders when we were forgetful. One thing I especially appreciated is that he acted as our advocate and gave us advice, rather than being tight-lipped and trying to cover his own butt. In other words, he acted as if he wanted us to get a loan and get the house, and his job was to help us make that happen, rather than trying to protect the bank from all possible risks and just make money for the bank. the navy federal credit union credit card is a fraud. i been…read morecompletely paying off the balance of the account keeping it down to zero dollar owed. i been finding the payments owed using the credit card and refunds right now from amazon paying down the balance recently dont match the current balance of the account. it seems that the balance is automatically raised with no paper trail ,..in other words the balance owed is invisibly raised with no supporting documetation. Navy Fed a few years ago was taken to court by a agency in the federal government for fraudelent business practices and fined a total of 20 million dollars. Now 20 million dollar fine is small potatoes to a large bank like navy feds. I believe this didnt stop navy fed from returning to illegal business practices cause they know if caught they will be paying fines that dont stop them from fraud. in other words the 20 million fine should be instead 500 million fine. I would stop and delete your credit card from navy fed and get your credit card from another bank. It seems they found a new way to raise your debt balance of your credit card most likely without you knowing it. Navy Fed in this action doesnt support military veterans,..they instead use them. Google navy federal credit union lawsuit and you will find latest lawsuit against NFCU ,..one right now in 2026 that a lawsuit is in progress regarding racial discrimation in mortgage lending against blacks, latino and native americans. In 2024 Consumer Financial Proctection Bureau ordered NFCU to pay 80 million in overdraft fees in restitution to customers and $18 million for illegal overdraft fees .
