I scheduled the appointment on Thursday by phone for an 11:00 appointment this morning to open an account with Frontwave. I arrived at 10:53 and stated that I had a scheduled appointment but the person who was assisting said there was no record of an appointment, took my name, phone number, checked my ID and said that it would be 15 minutes because the manager was at lunch. Been Banking since it was Pacific Marine Credit Union so about 14-15 Years. Want a loan Ask elsewhere. I have never got approved but have been approved instantly through local CU. Cant keep 2500 in Elite Checking okay pay 6 dollars a month it doesnt stay at 2500 Dont want to pay 6 so you drop to basic checking hey you want paper statments your in basic so pay a 2$ fee. Needless to say I will be droping them and going completely through local CU Where I have always been approved for loans and never been charged for the same type of checking account they are charging 6$ for. read more

Their ATMs steal your money when you tried to deposit it they shoot it back out and only shoot out part of it. We are having an awful time trying to get our money back from this bank. Don't ever use their ATMs because they are thieves. And you have to go through this long process. It took us three different people for somebody to actually do something to help us and the management was Hella mean and finally when my husband didn't leave their lobby until they gave us some real answers which all they did was take our number and give us a balance inquiry. Most horrible customer service ever and if this is what happens when their ATMs break and they can't do anything for you that's ridiculous. This is not a safe bank. So I've been looking for a new credit union that gives me a sign-up bonus and found their promo online. As of 2/2/24, you can get $200 if you sign up with a direct deposit & meet their other requirements. I printed the promo and brought it with me. I didn't have an appt so I had to wait a bit. James Lewis was very friendly, knowledgable, and answered all my questions. By the time I left, I had my new debit card. I also downloaded the app as I waited in the bank. So far, so good! Also, I did not realize that they were formerly called Pacific Marine Credit Union. You don't have to be in the military to open an account and this branch location is accessible to everyone. I have been a member since they were Pacific Marine, and have never had a single issue...have always been happy them. Until today! I am so flippen pissed off, I'm considering closing mt account and moving on to another credit union. I found fraud on my debit card Monday and called to report it as soon as the CU opened. when I have experienced fraud in the past they have credited the funds back to me immediately while they investigate. Should they find its not fraud, they take it back from your acct. (which has never happened in my disputes) I called today, they still hadn't deposited the funds back to me yet, and I'm being told it will likely be 2-3 weeks!!! My account my go negative by then due to circumstances beyond my control! Frontwave has never done me dirty like this and I'm pissed!! read more

I deployed to Iraq in 2006, Pacific Marine credit union shut off my debit card the first time I tried to use my card overseas. They refused to open it up until I returned in person to unlock the frozen account. So for the entire six months of that deployment, I had no access to my funds, no income, no paycheck whatsoever. Basically a six month furlough. So in 2007 I go into Pacific Marine and I tell them I'm about to deploy to Iraq again. I tell them "Please do not turn off my debit card". I signed paperwork I met with a bank manager. They said no problem. Guess what happens? I deployed to Iraq in 2007 and they shut off my debit card again! Another six months without a single paycheck, zero income. There was luckily a dispersing office on the base I was stationed at that gave me $300 a month to buy soap and socks, and toothpaste and a pillow and everything else you need to live over there without a freaking paycheck! This is the worst bank I've ever had in my life. It's so bad that after 20 years, I decided to come back and give this review. It's 2025. I'm 41 years old. This is the worst bank I've ever dealt with in over 20 years of my adult life. Do yourself a favor and get with Navy Federal credit Union ASAP! I understand that due to security reasons she needed to verify with my aunt all the proper information to ensure it was her speaking on behalf of her account. However, if my aunt states that she needs me her neice to speak on her behalf then she should've taken that information. My aunt is elderly and unable to handle her personal affairs. Next time the representative should have more compassion and not press the issue to speak with my aunt after she advised that it's a lot for her to speak. read more

I was in fear of missing my mortgage due on Friday 05 April 2025 because of a huge discrepancy in my checking account by no fault of my own. I asked for assistance with my issue at the main office located at Rocky Point Oceanside. The Branch Manager (Jacob Fuller) resolved my problem in two hours. I applied for a loan to purchase a new vehicle. Tyler Hong was really professional and helpful in the process of opening an account and applying for the loan. The only thing that rubbed me the wrong way was the manufactured urgency with which they required documentation from myself in regards to the car I ended up purchasing. I'd been called twice and emailed while I was working and in the middle of some important staff meetings and could not have simply left to deal with that. They gave me about an hours notice that they needed documentation by 11am the same day. Reading some of these reviews, I'm hoping that there aren't any mistakes or issues that could lead my car to get impounded or repossessed. I accepted a cashiers check from a member of theirs and go to cash it and they said since I wasn't a member I couldn't cash it. Cesar Cardoza proceeded to lie to me and tell me even if I was a long time member I could only get $3-4k. know that was a lie because there member took out $20k the day before. His solution was to go to a check cashing place. I asked if he could order the money. He said no, not really. I should pay the fee at a check cashing place. What good is accepting a cashiers check. I asked to speak to his supervisor. He told me that he wasn't.. The manager took care of the situation and resolved it the next day!!! I like this location a lot. Business aside, it's a beautiful building (lol) I'm a millennial that does not seek to physically GO into my bank (or credit union) more than I absolutely have to, but if and when I do NEED to, this is where I come. Keep in mind, the transactions I go inside for aren't ever complicated/convoluted, but just above what an ATM outside can do for me. I cannot speak for any services that are more involved, loans and the like. The staff here have always been kind and helpful. You can't take a step and a quarter through the automatic doors without being greeted with a "welcome in" from at minimum 3 people. Employees are chatty with you, but I like it as it makes dealing with even my simple money matters/customer servicey type inquiries less daunting. read more

Christina in the dept that handles beneficiaries was the most rudest un compassionate human I ever encountered. I wouldn't put a penny in this bank. I LOVE this bank and location! First off, Their coin machine, for the most part, is always working! I love taking my sons to cash in their coins. The very rare times it isn't working (Happened twice in the 3 years I have been their customer) they are quick to get it fixed. Easy to deposit or cash out the coins into your account. This location is always extremely clean. There are never really any long lines, then again, I go at random times and maybe it's just my luck I go when it isn't so busy. Plenty of parking! There is a carport area to park in the shade. Easy to find location! I am happy they are close by to my house and next to the post office since going to the bank usually goes with having to go to the Post Office. Overall, I am happy with banking here. read more

The branch manager, Shawna Acera, has been absolutely amazing since day one. I believe I joined circa 2012/ 2013 and She has been there with me through it all. Branch is aesthetically pleasing, ideally located, and I've had several loans over the years that really did have the most competitive rates. I have a family of four with 2 young guys 8/12 and they also have accounts there. Definitely recommend the Rocky Point branch!! read more

I really do enjoy everyone at Frontwave, just wish I didn't have to jump through hoops to get things taken care of. Now all I want to do is a credit limit increase on my Visa Rewards and they tell me I'm approved and we gave them all the info a week ago but still haven't seen anything happen on my account. I have called three times and today they told me it will be taken care of and as of 4:30pm, still nothing. It's already hard enough we don't have a branch close to East County. 1-30-24 An unnecessary long day when I tried to renew my cellphone account for three times it couldn't activate my Frontwave debit card. So, I had to wait when the branch opened. It's already strained cause I no longer live in CA but have kept the cards active and my direct deposits open. Well not after today. I should've followed my instincts bc back in July when a very similar situation occurred and Frontwave sent the replacement card by REGULAR MAIL, refusing to do so by FEDEX or UPS. Back then I had NO, CARD, NO MONEY FOR 36 DAYS AND WOUND UP HOMELESS. The police transported me to a DESC (Department of Emergency Service Center who then, almost two weeks later established me temporary living at the shelter. This nightmare was being compounded by someone I thought was a Friend but a prostitute, MJ smoker and meth user where I was stuck living with her and trying to endure the unfit living I was subjected to during this 36-day duration through which Frontwave held the replacement card and my money for all those weeks. When the card did arrive this woman I stayed with never told me it arrived. and setout to use it, to no avail. Thank God I finally got reliable support as mentioned below. ONLY This was through the DESC personnel (Department of Emergency Services) where the police escorted me and they intervened in my behalf with FRONTWAVES AGENTS and DESC assured my card would arrive in 24 hours via FEDEX THAT NEXT DAY. So, imagine my dismay today to find out something was wrong with THAT new card. When I contacted FRONT WAVE they told me they'd BLOCKED that card and it was blocked every since January 8th. My silent response was "oh... HELL no ... NOT again... NOT ANOTHER one of their aggregious transactions. First off FRONT WAVE NEVER CONTACTED ME ABOUT THE BLOCK NOR WHY THEY BLATANT PROCEEDED TO BLOCK THE CARD DUE TO A FRAUD ALERT THEY ACTIVATED BUT AGAIN DID NOT INFORM ME OF. Second, this monstrosity of events is PERMANENT and the BLOCK UNABLE OR BEING REFUNDED TO REVERSE. Third, just as they did back in July they INSISTED NOT TO SEND A THE REPLACEMENT CARD VIA FEDEX OR UPD BUT DEMANDED MY RECEIPT ONLY BY REGULAR MAIL, WHICH OPENS GREAT OPPORTUNITY FOR THEFT. Fourth and finally, I would've had to wait at least 7-10 BUSINESS days, no telln... Nor Guarantee. So, instead, I demanded FRONTWAVE MONEY WIRE EVERY SINGLE PENNY THAT HAD JUST POSTED WHICH they always hold prematurely for at least a week accruing lucrative aprs from their customers. They charged me a $25.00 FEE TO WIRE MY MONEY... I've been a member with this CU since 1988 and I have seen many changes. I'm glad that they have opened this larger, more modern branch up here in RDO as it is convenient and they run pretty efficiently. I have another account at another CU, and I mention so because I know that everywhere the customer service sector has been impacted with C19 and the economy. I see other reviews about poor staffing and I would need to compliment Frontwave for being able to maintain their staffing and particularly their good staff. My other CU has not. Kazzy at RDO is the CU rep that I always have help me. Not to diminish any other rep at RDO, its simply that my account is complicated and I have never had any issues. Kazzy understands my accounts and is able to get my transactions done quickly, proficiently and politely. During the height of the C19 issues, all team members were diligent with keeping their workstations sanitized, clean and ready to go. Side note, many years ago when I was impacted with the last recession and caring for my ailing parent, Frontwave (PacMarine) approved a small loan that helped my family and I get through that rough patch. It wasn't anything huge, but it was what we needed and in true Marine Corps fashion, they came to our family's rescue. I've been with Frontwave Credit Union since Marine Corps bootcamp (2002). Back when it was known as Pacific Marine Credit Union. While other service members left and went to Navy Federal, i stayed! My reasons for staying with FCU, were more of being settled with the bank itself, and also account safety reasons. There have been times when my account was hacked in other places around the United States, but Frontwave always caught it, and froze my account immediately. The only headache to that was calling them to confirm, so i could get my account unfrozen, which we all no that calling automatic message lines are a headache, but once i got a hold of a representative my issues were always addressed, and resolved. This bank is located in California, but does have many shared banks across the United States, which is another reason why I'm still with FCU. I've never dealt with the bank for loans, home loans or car loans, but have heard stories from other Marines and Sailors. I haven't really used those services, but open to in the future. I will end this review at that, but i repeat; I've been with them for over a decade, and any issues I've had have been resolved. read more

This branch has gone to the gutters. Probably because of new management trying to save money on toilet paper. They will not let you use the bathrooms anymore. They said somebody did something? If you need to use the restroom use plantery or parking lot management is ok with that. read more

In our professional opinions, the Oceanside, CA mortgage team by far provided the worst customer service we've ever experienced when obtaining a home mortgage. We've purchased homes in MO, NV, CT, FL and CA. Being relocated back to CA this is now our second primary resident purchase in SoCal and Frontwave Credit Union has simply been the WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! Frontwave Credit Union should seriously think about retraining, demoting or even termination for one of their Senior Real Estate Loan Processors. During our mortgage transaction experience, the SRELP didn't provide excellent, superior or even good customer service or any other level of customer service as far as that goes. She didn't reply to our real estate agents emails or voicemails or ours for days and when our agent let me know about this my response was " I'm not happy with Frontwave Credit Union either". This SRELP kept asking for the same documents to be sent to her multiple times as if she just wasn't paying attention. When we notified her about incorrect information that she or FCU inputted, she told us to log in and correct the information. Her response should have been "I'm sorry, thank you for bringing that to my attention. Let me go in and update/correct that". These are a few reasons why I will be filing a complaint with the BBB. Premier One Credit Union provides EXCELLENT, FRIENDLY customer service and is located in CA as well. Frontwave Credit Union reported me 30 days late IN ERROR and won't fix it. They are costing me perfect credit because they don't want to admit that their online banking system reports incorrect information. I've contacted their Call Center and Lending Department, written letters, everything and they refuse to take ownership. Hours of my time and they won't fix their mistake. Don't believe the false advertising. Worst part is I used to work here so I know how bad their systems are. Avoid at all costs. This credit Union doesn't know what they're doing. While totally off the beaten path, this is a huge bank with great service. I came here to deposit a check and while the drive is annoying and there is no entrance from the street meaning you have to drive around for awhile, I was in and out in less than 5 minutes. Seeing how large it was, I was expecting a mess and a hell of a line and found it to be empty and the staff very helpful. Great location, much better than most banks in the area. read more

She was literally the most amazing customer service representative I have ever spoken across any company my entire life. She truly blew me away! You can tell that she is passionate about her career and she went above and beyond to ensure that my needs were met as well as educating me on the cool features of mobile banking. (Such as this messaging feature I had no idea existed before today.) I used to be a secret shopper for Chili's Bar and Grill. If I was shopping her, she would have gotten a perfect 10. cudos once again and too late. i'm just grateful for this credit union from which i've been a member ~10? yeas???? i really enjoy and rely on my direct deposit to post early by~3-5 days. it never stays there long and within 3 days later i'm back to a -0- balance. i guess like they say that good things never last long..... i'm always needing the extra monetary extensions for now about 5 years or more. without it i would not be able to pay increased rents have food to eat and forget any extras like going to the movies bowling or darts of which are my favorite activities i would love to enjoy. i haven't seen nor been to any other credit union since i joined; that's from 3 others i've used then had to close. in hind sight ... some good things do last a very very long time:) read more

I've been with PMCU ever since I was with Marine Corps West and I really like my credit union. All the employees I have dealt with are friendly, helpful and I don't feel like they judge me no matter how much money I have or don't have. Even when I call the call center the service and great and quick and they always ask is there anything else they can help me with. I like how they have coffee even though I'm not a coffee drinker it's just the thought of having it there if you want. I also like how big the parking lot is compared to the one on vista way in the trader joe's center. You don't have to be in the military to bank here anymore like it used to be like when it was Marine Corps West. Sometimes when I need to take care of business on Saturdays I can just call the call center and take care of it. Pmcu will be my credit union for years to come. read more
