I've been coming to this location for years and it's all ways had exactly what I've needed, especially for traveling. Their lines move fast and I'm typically helped by an AAA associate right away. I was just in to avoid going in to the DMV. The gentleman at the front, wearing a nose ring was incredibly rude from the start. He not only did not help with anything, he was more determined to be "right" than to gather the appropriate information to help solve my problem. He said he was a DMV expert because he had received 6 months of training and didn't want me to talk to someone else. This man was defensive, rude, and unprofessional. He is clearly in need of some customer service training. This makes me want to cancel my AAA membership. read more

Our family after 47 years of insurance coverage has been harassed because we chose not to renew our policy-they were illegally trying to make us tell them who our new ensure is, they would waive a fee that is bogus to begin with. Be very careful going with AAA.-a lot of their employees have different information and make sure your policies are the exact same date between car and Home or they will try to tack on extra after you've already paid in full for the year for both. Even after contacting the insurance board, they have the same information asking us to let them know who our new ensure is and maybe the fee will be waived.. completely unbelievable and disappointing in 2026. Do you think that they make enough money off of people that they wouldn't worry about something under $200? That's a bogus claim to begin with. I have very mixed feelings about this AAA location. I visited to get my registration renewed and have all the paperwork sorted. The service is efficient. Is it friendly or actually helpful? No. It turns out that I never even owed fees and just needed to submit a refund form instead just to avoid the hassle. The place charged me close to $600 in avoidable fees. The perimeter of the building is nicely landscaped and it offers dog waste station for those coming from afar. Like us today. But watch out for the doggos. There are numerous cactus plants that adorn the perimeter and if you have silly hound dogs like me, one of them will poke their eyes or get poked in the torso. Stay far far away from most of the bushes as they got trash and other yucky stuff. In all, unless you live in the Oceanside area, I don't see why anyone should go out of their way to pay a visit. The service may be efficient and not as crowded as the one in Laguna Hills or Mission Viejo. But it leaves you with more to be desired in many different aspects. read more

This AAA location and staff are really amazing! I came in without an appointment on a Monday and although it looked busy, I waited less than 5 minutes after arriving before being called to the desk. When I walked in I was immediately greeted by the lady at the desk with a genuine happiness and smile. The Second Lady who assisted me with the title transfer was very patient with me and explained everything I needed to do. I had to retrieve some information and return. I came back about half an hour later and again, hardly a wait. The person who helped me this time was amazing! She had such a great personality and really engaged in conversation with me while taking care of my transfer. I came back a few days later to finalize things and this time on a Friday during lunch. Still waited less than 5 minutes to be helped! It's so awesome that AAA understands the importance of being well staffed. It is very helpful for a busy working person! I lucked out and got the same staff person assisting me at this final visit and she remembered me! Again she was super friendly and efficient! I walked out of there with a smile. Sounds cheesy, but I had such a great experience! It's so worth the membership fees to receive not only the benefits but the excellent customer service! read more

AAA membership is so worth it, especially for anything DMV related. I use this office to renew my license tags and usually breeze in and out pretty quickly. I"ve had to call them a few times for car issues, (i.e. battery jump, flat tire, etc) and they got to me promptly, fixed my problem and sent me on my way. On top of all this I also have my auto and home insurance and have been given a good price on my premiums. No complaints about them and I definitely recommend. read more

I needed a map for a trip I'm planning and I remembered AAA always had maps for members. Plenty of parking. Walked in no line and was greeted with a smile by the man at the desk (wish I got his name). He happily handed me the map and answered a barrage of questions about car registration without skipping a beat. I've had AAA for the last 12 years and they have gone downhill. Rates reliably go up $200 a year for no good reason. Service is slow and rude, especially the claims department. The claims department will overpay on damage so they can pay their own shop, then they will raise your rates using crazy damage estimates. When you ask for a loss report they will either tell you to pound sand or delay delay delay. It goes without saying that I'm switching insurance companies and I know that I'm not the only one. They are just too hard to work with and there's a lot of competition to choose from. read more

On July 11, 2025I visited a AAA location to renew my disabled placard for my son. I clearly stated that I had a blue placard, which had expired. I also brought my son's doctor's information, assuming it might be needed. The agent I spoke with insisted I could not proceed without my son's birth certificate. I explained that I did not have it on me, so I had to call my daughter and have her drive to the office to bring it. This caused unnecessary delay and inconvenience. While waiting, the agent consulted with another woman sitting nearby, who verbally confirmed the birth certificate was required. Once the birth certificate arrived, the agent looked up my son in the system and discovered he already had a permanent placard something I had tried to explain earlier when I said the placard was blue (not red). She should have searched his name from the start before demanding additional documents. Even more troubling, she told me that doctor information was not required, yet still took and kept both the medical form and the birth certificate, claiming she needed it "for the record." This contradicts DMV and AAA policy. There was no valid reason to collect or retain those documents for a permanent placard that already existed in the system. This experience reflects a lack of training, poor service, and misinformation. I am requesting: 1. A formal acknowledgment of this complaint. 2. Clarification on AAA's actual policy for placard renewal/address updates. 3. Assurance that the documents submitted (birth certificate and medical form) were not improperly retained or stored. 4. Staff retraining on how to check DMV records before requesting sensitive documents. I will be filing a formal complaint with the department of insurance and BBB read more

I always find the people that work there very nice and helpful. We have home and car insurance, life insurance and we buy tickets thru them for amusement parks. We've had trips mapped out for us and go to them rather then the dmv. read more

She was very arrogant, kept interrupting me and didn't answer any question I had about my insurance, she just wanted me to pay and leave. I originally went to AAA for their road side service and found out that they office many more services for their clients.?They offer reasonable auto insurance rates, IRA Certificates Traveling Packages, DMV Services (so you don't have to wait in line at the DMV), and many road maps) and Entertainment Brochures. Yes there is a line but getting maps took less than a minute! Really! Directions and maps and DMV services are what I use most. The ability to avoid the lines and stress at the DMV is worth the membership fee .... and towing + flat repair + battery replacement are all wonderful. You never know when you need them but wow! The bright yellow tow truck and the knowledgeable driver will always really help! They have many other services like tours, trips and packages. I gifted my daughter a membership when she left home - and she used it after getting a blowout in the dessert. So glad she had it. read more

They'll invade your privacy in order to jack up the monthly rate of your auto insurance! I never bother to do the verified odometer reading each year when it's time to renew my policy since the amount I drive can change from year to year. This year it's gone up due to working two jobs now in order to keep up with the skyrocketing cost of living. Especially since my partner also lost his, I'm having to pay for everything! I got a letter from them saying they use public government records such as smog checks from the Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR) to verify the accuracy of odometer readings. It was only because of some California law called Insurance Information and Privacy Protection Act that required them to send me a notice saying they used those records to find out the amount of miles on my car and used that information to increase the annual mileage rating on this year's auto policy renewal. As a result, the minimum monthly amount I have to pay has increased. WELL EXCUSE ME FOR HAVING TO WORK TWO JOBS NOW IN ORDER TO PAY ALL THE BILLS!!! NOW THIS ONE HAS GONE UP EVEN MORE LIKE EVERYTHING ELSE HAS! IT'S INSULTING AND FEELS LIKE A SLAP IN THE FACE! read more

I've been a member of AAA for 22 years, never had any trouble what so ever. They were the best insurance company we had ever had the pleasure of dealing with, however it seems their service is slipping and the tow companies they contact with aren't what they used to be as far as quality and service go i recently had to have my vehicles battery replaced and they sent out Johnathans towing. A new car battery is supposed to last 3-5 years and the one they put in lasted maybe 3 months. Johnathans towing told me to drive the car at least 20 minutes a day to keep the battery charged which I was doing, and the battery still died. Not happy AT ALL! read more

We live close to this AAA And for that reason, there have been a number of times that we have tried to go there We have always been treated rudely by each person we encountered We went yesterday to plan our lifelong trip as we are nearing 70 years old and have never traveled out of this continent We chose to go to Italy the girl we had said she lived there for four years and would help us make decisions She ended up scaring us about even traveling to Italy and renting a car (Not Cool ) Talking to people, who have been there and knowing who we are as people, we feel confident that we would be able To create A trip to Italy that would be fit to our taste and our disabilities However She like every other person we have ever counted there over the last six years Did exactly the opposite that we were hoping for We have never had the same experience in the San Marcos office where they have always helped us are the other offices throughout San Diego that we have Visited I don't know why or who runs this particular AAA office For so many years no matter where we lived in this country ... We have been members and never ever anywhere that we've traveled we have Been treated in this way I walked around the entire Offices and it feels as though people hate their jobs, except one young man that was smiling and exuberant joy If Your job is to help people this particular AAA is totally off bounds Morally I'm just totally disappointed in their lack of being able to even care enough to help a person All we wanted was help booking a trip and knowing where to go We were treated without any help and told that we needed to go home and do some more homework because obviously we haven't figured it out enough On our own I thought, figuring it out was why we went to a travel agent. We recently had to get passport photos taken for renewals. AAA was reasonably priced and there was a minimal amount of wait time (passport photos are a walk-in only). Very polite, professional, friendly and efficient. After our visit for passport photos, we visited the insurance side of the office for quotes on homeowners and rental policies. We were assured we would be hearing from them in a few days. We got an okay on one policy but never heard anything regarding others even after assurance we would. I guess it's a hit-and-miss kind of office. So I'm reducing them from 5 to 3 stars. read more

These guys are crooks from Ground Zero from incorrectly and in accurately airing information a year ago when I started my insurance to a recent two-week fiasco on the phone and in person in their office dealing with an ending demands for verifications and documentation of things that are ridiculous to maintain savings that are negligible when coverage is actually compared with other companies. We came in 5 minutes after they opened and there was already a line to queue up but it wasn't too much of a wait. The people who work there are super friendly. I usually go to AAA in Orange County area but those people are not that friendly so I never like to visit. But this place will be where I would like to go if I have questions regarding my insurance. Jonathan Henson was the one who assisted me and he was definitely a fun person to talk to and helped with my questions. He was very helpful with saving money for my auto insurance. I love AAA as service has always been great and the people here are nice. I have been to this AAA a few times. I have them for auto insurance and roadside assistance. Today I had to insure one car and pay tabs on another. David who works in insurance is the man! Very polite, very knowledgeable and pressure free. Just the kind of person I would want help from for my insurance as there is a lot of sharks there that want to keep adding stuff on. He's also very responsive and there when you need him. If you need to insure your car, go see David! On top of that, I got AMAZING rates on my cars. When paying tabs I worked with Shelly. She was also very informative and knew what she was doing. She has very good energy and seems happy to be there. She was making me laugh and enjoy my experience the entire time I was working with her. Unfortunately we were not able to get the tabs paid today due to me not having cash or my credit card on me, only my debit card (foolish me). I will be going back tomorrow, cash in hand, and hope to work with Shelly again. read more

This is what will happen if you get plowed into by someone with AAA Insurance. I was told by there insurance adjuster that they accepted all responsibility for the accident. They want my insurance company to pay for it literally. The damage was less then 5000 dollars. There basically saying if you don't use your insurance carrier to deal with us we don't have to pay you anything. If I didn't have full coverage insurance I wouldn't be able to get my vehicle paid for. Just another loop around taking people's money and doing anything they can not to have to give it back. I'm a parent with 3 kids and this vehicle literally brings money in for my family. Now I have to pay my insurance companies 500 doller deductible to get my truck fixed because these people are bluffing me hoping I don't have full coverage so they wont have to pay anything. How you people sleep at night I have no idea. There job is to try anything they can to keep your money in there pocket.
