We became friendly and I know that her biggest passion in life is Taekwondo (OK...maybe a close second to her family! She does love them!). Master Amy has trained under multiple TKD Grandmasters and brings a refreshing perspective to the art: a perfect combination of traditional martial arts, fitness and sports acumen. Master Amy cares deeply about every one of her students and truly gets joy out of watching their growth and success. When covid shut everything down in March, I started training with her and her students online. She shifted gears and created asynchronous content for her students to access - but, more importantly, kept the flow of live classes going using zoom. Online-only classes continued until some of the restrictions started to lift. She is currently running hybrid classes so that she can address the needs of all. There are several students that are strictly online since they live in different parts of the US (even different time zones!). Since we're still at the height of the pandemic, all in-person participants require masks, temperature checks, hand sanitizer and substantial social distancing - so (in-person) class sizes are currently limited. Master Amy has taken all precautions - and then some - to ensure everyone's safety. She's been incredibly creative on how to teach nuanced techniques from a distance and will try anything to help bring her students along. If you're looking for a great way to get fit, have fun and learn an amazing, traditional martial art - check out Mooshim.

What a great place! I brought my 6 year old twins for a free trial class and was impressed from the…read moremoment I walked in the door. The space is bright, airy and clean with plenty of space for the kids to store their personal belongings during class. There is a seating area with tables so parents can watch and relax, or bring a laptop (free wifi!). The instructors, Amy and Tessin, pay attention to each individual kid, making sure they use proper form and that they understand why it's done that way. It was really cool to see how things just clicked with my kids when the instructors took the time to explain things. My kids are always so proud of their achievements at the end of class, and they feel confident that they will know how to protect themselves from the "bad guys" (a very big concern for all 6 year olds!) But this place isn't just for kids! There are tae kwon do classes for adults, and conditioning classes as well. The drop in rate for the conditioning class is very reasonable for anyone who can't commit to a full schedule. And the class was actually fun! It's non-stop the whole time, but there is such variation in the drills and exercises that it never felt boring. I felt like I was being pushed to do my best, but it was never intimidating. I highly recommend the class to anyone who wants a great workout but needs a little support or a break from the monotony of the gym.

I found this place through their Open Houses on Friday nights for tae kwondo (to possibly sign up…read moremy 4 year old daughter), not knowing they have cardio kickboxing in this place. Gina who is a very active member of this martial arts center gave an inspiring speech about her family going here for tae kwon do and her going here 4 x a week for cardio kickboxing and lost a ton of weight. So, I took a free trial class and liked it alot....sweat alot to rocking music! I was surprised we do not wear shoes to do cardio kickboxing, just your feet. What is the cardio-kickboxing routine? Stretching for say 10 minutes and cardio kickboxing for 25 minutes , a 2 minutes water break and 15 minutes working on the pads and crunches and another 8 minutes for stretching. My daughter on the other hand wasn't crazy about tae kwondo but I think it's because of the discipline. I saw her and she was pretty good at it. I think this place is great for kids to build self-esteem and do some martial arts moves. You may be concerned that if kids learn this, they may do some violent moves on others. That is not the case as I was interviewing several parents at the place. If anything, it made the child more confident and respectful to others. They could defend themselves if necessary. The instructors or Masters we call them are gold Olympians on tae kwondo and teach cardio kickboxing classes. They train some serious black belt tae kwon do students for future Olympians if you want to go there. You don't mess with these guys...they're good what they do. Don't be intimidated, they are really nice Korean guys....English is so-so but you can understand what they're saying. It's a family owned business practically. One of the Masters is a father of 2 boys, one 3 years old and one about 20 months old. His wife works all the marketing, administrative and accounting work. They're such a cute family. The place is relatively clean as everybody who enters into this place must take their shoes off and place them on the shelves. Price is $99 unlimited attendance or $60 a month for a month once a week. That's me as the only time I could make this class is 8-9am on Saturday mornings before my crazy schedule of classes with my 4 year old. You could bring your child to have him or her watch you kickbox. I did this but felt uneasy as part of me is watching her behave nicely on the sidelines and not concentrating on the kickbox moves.

I started sending my son to Master Yoon after a year off from the sport…read more We were unhappy with our previous dojo due to the lack of discipline and respect shown by the students and their parents - coming in late, eating in the gym, talking on the cell phones, carrying on loud conversations while the kids were trying to pay attention to their Master. Unfortunately the owners put up with this to get as many kids in the class as possible and eventually we realized it was more of a farm situation where belts were given out easily instead of earned. It wasn't for us. I took my time finding the right place for us. And finally did with Master Yoon's Champions! He's an excellent Master. He's a world-class Olympic champion. He cares so much for the kids. And takes his art very seriously. Master Yoon instills pride and discipline and respect. He's strict and gives corrections but is very patient and allows the students the time to make the correction even if it takes 5, 6, 7 times. The children listen, they obey, they learn and they end up feeling proud of themselves - and when they get a belt, they know they've earned it. My son knows that what he is learning is important, I've never seen him so focused as he is in class - I wish he would listen to me like he does Master Yoon! I love this place. I highly recommend it if you truly want your child to really learn taekwondo properly. (Master Yoon also teaches adults, does black belt training and a cardio kickboxing class - but I only have experience with him - so far- as an instructor to my kids).

This place is fantastic! He knows it's challenging, but he likes the challenge and enjoys when he ultimately succeeds. We go twice a week, and there is a fixed schedule for the month so you know what days of the week a class is offered for your child's level. And I want to make clear that the head instructor and owner, Master Yoon, is at every.single.class. He is the teacher. His sons help, and some of the older students also work as helpers. But Master Yoon is there every single day, every single class. He knows every child by name. He knows what they are capable of, and knows how to push them just a little bit farther each time. He is very serious, but also always laughs and jokes around with the kids. So they like him, but they know when he has put on his serious face and it's time to stop clowning around. And this is not a belt-mill. If you are not ready to test, you don't get to test. And even when you get to test for the next belt level, I have seen him fail kids that didn't perform well enough during testing. So there's no guarantee that you can just pay your way to black belt. Do I have any complaints? As you move up in belts, there are less options for class times. For "No belt to orange", a class is offered 5 days a week. For "Green to blue", it's just 3 times a week. So it gets a little harder to manage the schedule as your child advances. And Master Yoon speaks quickly, so a year in I still have trouble understanding him sometimes, and I think the kids do too, especially at first. I would highly recommend this place. And the way it works, you get a cheaper 6-week trial so you can see if it's a good fit for your kid.

Master Kim and his staff patiently offered words of encouragement without rushing him. Other parents told us not to give up because their children were reluctant at first as well. Parents from surrounding towns drive their children past ordinary Tae Kwon Do classes to Master Kim's amazing class for valid reasons. He blends respect, culture, discipline, confidence and fun perfectly. Before and after class, Master Kim slowly practiced punching and kicking with our son. We had faith in Master Kim, so we signed up for the entire year. Soon after, our son decided to participate in the full class and has looked forward to it. We have seen our son learn new moves with the help of Master Kim's entire staff. We like that our son learns from Master Kim and respectfully follows others, too. Our son went from being shy and timid to confident in announcing himself, counting out numbers and replying to Master Kim's questions. Our son progressed faster in Master Kim's class than in the classroom. The look on our son's face as he earned his first belt was priceless. Master Kim brings out the best in our child and all children because he has perfected his craft, he embodies the ideals of Tae Kwon Do in his life, he cares so much for each child, and he relentlessly makes each one better each day. Master Kim commands their respect because he teaches them to respect one another and themselves.
