The number of businesses in downtown Valley View Texas is very limited and this is one of the nicest stores of this type anywhere around. It is housed in two old buildings which are connected with a large doorway. The old exposed brick walls can be seen throughout the establishment. The store sells rustic furniture and nic -nacks with a rustic western flair. There are some clothing items as well as many gift items throughout the establishment. The owner is a very interesting person to talk with about the store as well as the history of downtown Valley View. Ask her about the robbery and burning of the bank downtown. This store along with a bakery next door have been renovated and they both retain an historical tradition while at the same time are modern establishments. I think it www.elementsofdesign.net, instead of the normal .com. I come up here to Denton every 2-3 months just to see what they have new. The whole place was completely remodeled several months ago, and they even broadened the range of things they carry. There are several other shops around the old historic square that are also worth visiting.

I wouldn't have known if we hadn't randomly driven by. Our curiosity made us stop to check it out. FYI, don't be deterred by the construction out front. The parking lot is in the back, as is the entrance. We walked past a sign about shopping local and then we were immediately smacked in the face by all sorts of eye candy!! This is essentially a store built of local vendor booths, so there is a ton of variety when it comes to the different products and price ranges. I was really impressed by how reasonable most of the prices were and how different so many of the products were. Also, this place is like a Mary Poppins bag, everywhere I looked there was another new room. I never realized this building had this type of square footage from the outside. In one room I discovered a section of Small Fry items, that was so nice! I'm including pictures because I couldn't possibly tell you how extensive the selection is for children's clothing, toys, adult clothing, purses and totes, home décor, jewelry, skin care and even furniture. I saw multiple vintage tea sets, an old coffee pot and some really cool luggage. I really wish I had discovered this place before the holidays, I found so many perfect and unique items for all the different people in my life. The staff is lovely and there was some delicious hot chocolate there as well! They are open Wednesdays through Saturdays and they were also advertising upcoming painting classes. Inside, this place is so cohesive and "put together". That the whole time I was there I never picked up on the fact that it is actually comprised of over 100 different vendors. The place just flowed so smoothly and so beautifully. It's huge, so it flowed for over 12,000 square feet. I saw everything from home decor, bath & body products, jewelry, clothing, a place to customize olive oils, candies, nuts, and more!
