Great little antiques and collectibles shop right on the square in Gainesville. I was in town visiting Winstar and decided to check out the nearby town. Amelia's Attic is like a treasure hunt. This store has a wonderful amount of things to look at! There is so much to take in so take your time to look around. There is also a downstairs so make sure you check that out too. The pricing seemed to be really fair and I heard them say that you can offer a little less for bigger priced items. The ladies were super nice and helpful. The highlight of Amelia's are the ladies that work there. Genuinely friendly and helpful, they make you feel truly welcome. My wife and I went there looking for some items to add of our collection of .... well I'm not going to tell you that! Needless to say, we got some nice bargains of some lovely little treasures. One thing to point out. When dealing with places like this, it is important to remember that a lot of the space is rented out to individual collectors hoping to sell their wares. As such, there are some sections that have good prices, and some that have great prices. Fortunately we went in with a budget limit in mind, and got to that limit fairly quickly. The challenge was in figuring out which ones to leave behind for another day. The shop is across the street from the courthouse, and so is in a building that is pretty old. It is well and lovingly maintained though. In times gone by, the building housed a J C Penney's store. There are two levels to shop on, the ground floor and the basement. Apparently the upstairs is rentable space for special events. At any rate, we will definitely be back! read more

Great place to spend some time looking for antiques. Staff is friendly and the shop has two floors of booths. Found some unique glassware and an old Taylor Caldwell novel. This is the only antique store left in Gainesville (or so we were told) and it was worth the time. read more

Been here a few times. Not much changes. Found a few things as always. Lady very helpful. Downstairs has a lot of items also. Only antique store in Gainesville. On California St I just parked right in front not very busy. Some items are priced high but there are some good finds. I suggest take your time. Take at least an hour if not more. I'll be back again for sure. read more
