As for this trail hike, we took a moderate one up the mountain to the peak to sit and take in the views on all sides. It really depends who you go with. The desert can be a lonely place. Especially as the day comes to a close, it is so quiet here, it could be just you and your thoughts. Sobering. We saw some rabbits and lizards. Be on the watch for coyotes and rattlesnakes. The steep trek down I thought, was harder than going up. Make sure you have really good hiking shoes. If you come here on a whim let's say, sandals or flip flops are not going to cut it. Bring plenty of water, very hot in summer and keep in mind that there are no bathrooms here. Please pick up all your trash. This was a beautiful, clean place. The parking area felt safe and fortunately for us, there were not a lot of people there on this given Sunday. I would go back in a heartbeat. The summit views were spectacular and I always welcome the exercise and time to reflect. It can also feel very romantic. I love the desert.

The few times I've come, I brought our pup and have left him off the leash when were far away enough from the parking lot. This place is pet friendly but it doesn't seem like a lot of pet owners clean up after their pups. And that may be because there aren't any trash cans in sight. We've dumped our pups poop behind the CCC's children center or a trash can on campus. Even though this hiking spot lacks trash cans, it does have a ton of trails to take that starts behind CCC and goes out towards the mountains. We haven't ventured out too far just yet, but I can't wait to see how many other trails we find. Also, another huge plus is there are markers you can follow...not to mention, it's hard to not be able to find your way back. Honestly, there are some many trails you're not likely to run into anyone else. I have seen quite a bit of bikers and people on dirt bikes/dune buggies, but it can be a bit hard to see through the desert plants. There's a few signs before entering the hiking trails that gives info about desert turtles, but we haven't seen any yet. The only critters I've seen are lizards and ants. One thing to be careful of is the broken glass all throughout the desert. It can be pretty, but sharp!

I personally will give 5 stars to the teachers and site supervisor at Faller State Preschool. Love…read morethe teachers very professional and excellent. On the other hand this program I have to give a star or it won't let me post!! There are only 5 full pay families through this program and they are all Government Contractors probably. They don't except checks because they want everything under the table so they can stay a non-profit organization, then here comes the kicker, I was told today the state doesn't pay for my child to go to school, and I already called the state and was told they receive $21.00 a day for every child that ATTENDS no matter if they pay or not. But they will still charge $21.00 for full pay families even if your child misses a day of school.. So point proven from the school district it's self THEY MAKE A PROFIT!!! Also was told one thing and then something different happens can you say false statements I CAN!!! They only accept cash, money orders, or anything non traceable HIDING something are we??? UM YES!!! So they don't lose the contract!!! If I think of anything else or anything else happens to me I'll be sure to keep you updated!!!

Yes, there are books and resources but trying to force myself to utilize those while dealing with pregnancy fatigue, working a full job, etc. It's a lot. My husband and I decided to go the route of a midwife/birthing center birth. Additionally, we hired an AMAZING doula, Bre Striff owner of Wild Heart Births , for both pregnancy/labor and postpartum support. The classes she provided were EXTREMELY beneficial in both the pregnancy and labor, especially the information pertaining to hormones and positioning of baby (at least for us). My birthing team was very hands on, especially Bre. She had me changing positions often to ensure baby was getting into position and to relieve discomfort I was feeling. By 5AM, we were at 4-1-1 and contacted our midwife; it was going to take her about 2 hours to get to us. At 7AM, we were in the birthing center and measuring at 3cm. As discouraging as this was (labor hurts. Period.) Bre ensured we stayed positive and kept changing positions to encourage our bebe to continue to get engaged and drop. By 8:45, I was starting to bear down. My midwife checked me and said baby was coming soon. I used the peanut ball and physical support from my birthing team, pushed 3 times and baby was out at 9:44. I had two minor tears that didn't not require stitches. The recovery process has been a lot faster than I thought it would be. Still not 100% and of course sleep deprived while we figure out how to be parents but the support we have from our family and the postpartum care I am receiving from Bre has made the transition so much easier than I anticipated. Although there were a few hiccups in our plans, the most important part was that our little girl and I made it through this birth healthy. Bre was the main reason we got from 3cm to birth in 2 1/2 hours. i recognize not everyone has this option and this option might not work for everyone but I highly highly recommend Bre and her services - I trust her completely.

After having a successful V-BAC, which I wasn't sure I could do, I am now convinced anyone can do this with the help of a Doula, and the type of unlimited and unwavering support that Bre offered me.
