This business can thank its lucky stars that their cake is DELICIOUS! I almost wanted to share some slices with others, but decided against it because I was feeling selfish! The durian is fresh and ripe. If you are a durian-enjoyer, you will love this cake. (If you are not a durian-enjoyer, you're missing out and should grow up!) My mum heard about this cake a couple years ago when her friend brought one to a party. On the day we got here, there were no pre-made cake slices for us to purchase, so in a classic us-move, we decided to order a whole cake. I use to come here for the house milk tea and crepe cakes but it's been a couple of years. The inside is still the same, clean and spacious with a couple or tables and even a small comfy couch. The staff were super nice and friendly and happily took our orders. I got the house milk tea like I always do but I personally think the taste has changed. I got my drink at 75% sweet but it was so sweet I struggled to finish the drink. It was a lot more like 100% at some other boba shops. The boba was also just okay. I did ask for recommendations and was told that for milk teas to go with Jasmine or house. For fruit teas to go for mango. I ended up with a simple almond milk tea, no toppings, less ice. I wanted to grab something refreshing on the way home to study more. I happened to walk in right at 4pm which is their happy hour BOGO. I decided to get the hawaiin pineapple and Boba milk tea. Unfortunately both were underwhelming. Pineappe had too many stringy bits. I like thats its real pineapple but the stringy issue needs to be fixed. The boba milk tea was not very sweet and isn't that creamy. Milk tea that is not sweet nor creamy is a big NO in my book. I came here a few years ago and had a terrible experience, extremely watered-down drinks and a foul smell. I decided to give this place another chance, and I'm glad I did, since they fixed the watered-downness of the drinks, and the cleanliness of the place definitely improved. Before heading to TeaArias I was reading the previous reviews and some ppl mentioned they got rid of it during COVID and were just offering a certain % off, but when I went they were honoring the BOGO deal. There's a list of certain drinks that qualify for the BOGO! We got the tropical delight, thai tea, house milk tea, and hibiscus cooler. The guys working that night were super nice and welcoming. They were also patient waiting for us to decide what drinks since it was our first time. I like that they are also able to accommodate modification requests to make drinks less sweet like 25% sweet. When Lady M crepe cakes got famous in early 2000s, I was oblivious that they were the originator of the crepe cakes until I tried TeaArias' versions. I've had the green tea crepe cake and teas often when I used to work in the area in 2014. They have additional cake flavors too but the green tea one is my go-to. The service is always polite and efficient. They have limited cafe style seating areas if you want to enjoy your snacks there. I finally was able to try their Strawberry Watermelon cake... (moment of truth) I now know what the hype is all about, it was super bomblicious! The flavor of it is not sweet and goes perfect with the strawberries and watermelon. The perfectly layer of almond dacquoise and the touch of the rose petals at the top makes it to where you put a bite in your mouth give you an explosion of flavors. The rose petals give it more of bitter, then you get the sweet of the strawberries with the almond dacquoise contrasts and then you get to watermelon and boooom! You get the juicy taste with another sweet yet not too sweet layer of the almond dacquoise! This strawberry watermelon cake is definitely worth the drive to pick. FYI this is only available on the weekends til they sale out. It is very popular since they have just brought back since 2020! I know, crazy right!!!!! But again very worth the drive. If you're in the area or you're just craving something sweet and delicious for dessert this is the spot and this is my favorite cake so far. I've been craving matcha desserts lately so I decided to stop by to pick up a slice of matcha crepe cake! A lychee oolong tea and a slice of cake cost me about $11, most of their drinks cost about $5. I've always enjoyed the crepe cakes at TeaArias, it's always been sweet and moist. A lot of the times I'm not the biggest fan of crepe cakes since I feel like they're too dense or dry but the ones here have always been nice! The matcha flavor isn't intense but it's still a nice earthy matcha flavor. I've had their durian crepe cake before and really enjoyed that one too. I did want to try their other flavors and the strawberry watermelon cake but that one is available on weekends only! The lychee oolong had a nice flavor to it, I do think the drinks used to be better a few years back but it was still nice. The workers here were super friendly I got everything really quick. There's plenty of parking available as well. It's located in the corner of the plaza with Hobby Lobby right across from Golden West College. My favorite was the Lychee Oolong, which tasted similar to the lychee juice you find at Asian supermarkets. Solid tea/boba spot in Westminster/HB! It's been on my radar for quite some time now after stumbling across its Yelp page and images of the watermelon cake it used to serve (probably a seasonal thing?). It's in the plaza across from Goldenwest College with plenty of parking. I got the strawberry matcha milk, and was pleased to find that the strawberry purée was not some heavily artificial syrup! It was actual strawberry purée that wasn't just sugar and sweetener, and it counterbalanced the matcha well. They are limited in milk options, but I believe they use Lactaid. I did both the vanilla and matcha mille crepe cake, and enjoyed both! It wasn't too sweet but had a solid 1:1 of cream to crepe. Serving sizes were good and prices were fair. Huntington Beach doesn't seem to have many, or at least decent, boba/tea/coffee shops but I stumbled upon TeaArias reading through some good reviews and seeing good pictures. I peaked at the menu and decided on the Hokkaido Milk Tea. It comes in a sturdy plastic cup and they don't overly fill it with ice which is good so you get a good bang for your buck. The milk tea is reminiscent of typical milk tea but with a slightly sweeter and smoother taste, not as bitter or having that "muddy" tea you find elsewhere.
