The durian is fresh and ripe. If you are a durian-enjoyer, you will love this cake. (If you are not a durian-enjoyer, you're missing out and should grow up!) My mum heard about this cake a couple years ago when her friend brought one to a party. I use to come here for the house milk tea and crepe cakes but it's been a couple of years. The inside is still the same, clean and spacious with a couple or tables and even a small comfy couch. The staff were super nice and friendly and happily took our orders. I got the house milk tea like I always do but I personally think the taste has changed. I got my drink at 75% sweet but it was so sweet I struggled to finish the drink. It was a lot more like 100% at some other boba shops. The boba was also just okay. I was in the same plaza for an errand and for some reason I noticed there was actually a boba shop in this plaza. Usually, I don't go on a whim to grab boba just because it adds up. But for some reason I decided to grab a drink to cool off. The menu is at the register, but the behind the counter menu is a little more challenging to read. I did ask for recommendations and was told that for milk teas to go with Jasmine or house. For fruit teas to go for mango. I ended up with a simple almond milk tea, no toppings, less ice. Initially the drink was fine, I usually take awhile to sip my drink to savor the flavor, but perhaps because today was a hot day I drank it faster than usual. I wanted to grab something refreshing on the way home to study more. I happened to walk in right at 4pm which is their happy hour BOGO. I decided to get the hawaiin pineapple and Boba milk tea. Unfortunately both were underwhelming. Pineappe had too many stringy bits. I like thats its real pineapple but the stringy issue needs to be fixed. Came in for their BOGO hours and I can say as of 12/8/22 they still honor it! Before heading to TeaArias I was reading the previous reviews and some ppl mentioned they got rid of it during COVID and were just offering a certain % off, but when I went they were honoring the BOGO deal. There's a list of certain drinks that qualify for the BOGO! We got the tropical delight, thai tea, house milk tea, and hibiscus cooler. The guys working that night were super nice and welcoming. They were also patient waiting for us to decide what drinks since it was our first time. I like that they are also able to accommodate modification requests to make drinks less sweet like 25% sweet. The crepe cakes also looked really good on display and we couldn't decide which to go with. The lady recommended taro and mentioned they make the cakes fresh with real taro so we went with that and it was a good decision! Stopped by to try their drinks during their bogo hours (4-6pm) and accidentally discovered one of the best oolong milk teas I've ever had. Staff were super friendly and service was quick. The shop was clean and had plenty of indoor seating. Parking in the plaza is a breeze. Their oolong milk tea was super fragrant and the tea was strong, amazing! The taro green milk tea was just ok, the flavor or tea wasn't very strong which was surprising given how much I liked the oolong milk tea. Drinks are on the less sweet side which is my preference. I finally was able to try their Strawberry Watermelon cake... (moment of truth) I now know what the hype is all about, it was super bomblicious! The flavor of it is not sweet and goes perfect with the strawberries and watermelon. The perfectly layer of almond dacquoise and the touch of the rose petals at the top makes it to where you put a bite in your mouth give you an explosion of flavors. The rose petals give it more of bitter, then you get the sweet of the strawberries with the almond dacquoise contrasts and then you get to watermelon and boooom! You get the juicy taste with another sweet yet not too sweet layer of the almond dacquoise! This strawberry watermelon cake is definitely worth the drive to pick. FYI this is only available on the weekends til they sale out. It is very popular since they have just brought back since 2020! I know, crazy right!!!!! But again very worth the drive. If you're in the area or you're just craving something sweet and delicious for dessert this is the spot and this is my favorite cake so far. Heard about the happy hour BOGO offer and couldn't resist, especially with the notable number of Yelp reviews. Surprisingly it was totally empty at 5pm on a Friday. The interior is cute and cozy though! Staff were friendly and greeted me as I walked in. Ordered a House Milk Tea (less ice, 50% sugar) and a Tropical Delight (no adjustments). The milk tea was slightly sweeter than I'd like but pretty well balanced! I'll go for 30% next time but I think many folks would be happy with 50%. The tea flavor came through and the drink was refreshing and creamy. To my delight the drink includes boba so you don't get charged for it as an additional topping - bringing the total to $4.75, a price I haven't seen in ages :') However, the boba was a bit undercooked, as the centers were somewhat firm. I think if it was cooked for a few more minutes that would have done the trick, but I honestly wasn't upset about it because the exteriors had a decent chew, the boba had a good sweetness (bland boba is a sin), and they were generous with the amount of boba they gave - ran out of tea before boba but got boba in every sip. The Tropical Delight ($4.95) was sweeter than I expected, even though I got regular ice and it all melted before I got to drink it, so I'd recommend 70/50% for it. The flavor though was really fruity and left you with an aftertaste of tea! Great drink for a hot day. Overall the drinks are pretty decent and worth trying. I really enjoyed the flavors of both drinks and want to give their boba another shot. Was a bit nervous about quality of their drinks given that they offer the BOGO every day (BOGO itself is rare for boba shops) but I was pleasantly satisfied. And the prices are reasonable even if you don't get the BOGO offer! I've tried many boba shops so in judging this one on the same taste criteria as I have with those in the past, ultimately I'd recommend coming here. A lychee oolong tea and a slice of cake cost me about $11, most of their drinks cost about $5. I've always enjoyed the crepe cakes at TeaArias, it's always been sweet and moist. A lot of the times I'm not the biggest fan of crepe cakes since I feel like they're too dense or dry but the ones here have always been nice! The matcha flavor isn't intense but it's still a nice earthy matcha flavor. I've had their durian crepe cake before and really enjoyed that one too. I did want to try their other flavors and the strawberry watermelon cake but that one is available on weekends only! The lychee oolong had a nice flavor to it, I do think the drinks used to be better a few years back but it was still nice. The workers here were super friendly I got everything really quick. There's plenty of parking available as well. It's located in the corner of the plaza with Hobby Lobby right across from Golden West College. I've had the green tea crepe cake and teas often when I used to work in the area in 2014. They have additional cake flavors too but the green tea one is my go-to. My favorite was the Lychee Oolong, which tasted similar to the lychee juice you find at Asian supermarkets. The Taro Green Milk Tea (with black tea substitution) was probably my second favorite, although the Lychee Dreamer was also good. If I could this place would get 3.5 stars from me but I gave it a four because I can't do halfsies. Right now there are a few tables to sit on and we did eat our cake inside the shop, but most people came, bought a drink and left right away. Staff wears masks and when we went their bathroom was not operational (I think it's a nice of saying no public restroom is available). Solid tea/boba spot in Westminster/HB! It's been on my radar for quite some time now after stumbling across its Yelp page and images of the watermelon cake it used to serve (probably a seasonal thing?). It's in the plaza across from Goldenwest College with plenty of parking. I got the strawberry matcha milk, and was pleased to find that the strawberry purée was not some heavily artificial syrup! It was actual strawberry purée that wasn't just sugar and sweetener, and it counterbalanced the matcha well. They are limited in milk options, but I believe they use Lactaid. I did both the vanilla and matcha mille crepe cake, and enjoyed both! It wasn't too sweet but had a solid 1:1 of cream to crepe. Serving sizes were good and prices were fair. I peaked at the menu and decided on the Hokkaido Milk Tea. It comes in a sturdy plastic cup and they don't overly fill it with ice which is good so you get a good bang for your buck. The milk tea is reminiscent of typical milk tea but with a slightly sweeter and smoother taste, not as bitter or having that "muddy" tea you find elsewhere.
