Our daughter has been attending since she was just 6 months old and is now a thriving 2.5-year-old who loves going every day. Over the past two years, she's learned so much--she can count to 20, recognize letters and their sounds, and has developed a wonderfully expressive vocabulary. Beyond literacy and numeracy skills, TNP has given her essential emotional tools: she's learned how to recognize and regulate big feelings with breathing techniques and gentle guidance. She's even started potty training with confidence! From day one, the care and thoughtfulness have been evident. As a baby, she was fed every 3 hours and given all the cuddles and comfort she needed. Now, she enjoys 3 healthy meals a day provided by the daycare. (Truly an unexpected bonus given how affordable the daycare is!) She's also soaking up Spanish too! The variety of activities keeps her engaged and happy--community walks, sprinkler time in the summer, music and art classes, and plenty of free play. She's learned manners, how to take turns, and how to be a respectful friend. She's built a sweet circle of friends she enjoys seeing outside of daycare, too. As parents, we've found not just a daycare, but a supportive and inclusive parenting community. We can't recommend The Nurturing Place highly enough.

She gives you a break down of what activities the kids will be doing day by day. The staff, they are so tentative to the kids, and they are treated as if they are one of their own family members. I remember going into my appointment and my son just smiling and he ran and gave a hug. It sold me, and before you ask yourself why, understand when kids are just around family they are a little iffy about going to others. That's when i knew he saw something more than i did. And i listened to it. They have helped me in so many ways, it's like Im dropping him off to my sisters house. He's comfortable there and cared for. As a first time parent, it's not easy to let your little one go and put them in the care of someone else's arms. But i would choose them over and over again. If i choose to have another child, i know i have a family thats more than welcoming to my child and me. Your child will definitely be in great hands.

Deciding who to entrust your child to is literally The Hardest decision, and we feel beyond fortunate to have "gotten it right" the first time! Not only does KC have amazing lesson plans, they foster development through fun activities like weekly yoga and a music man. The genuine passion these educators have for helping our children grow is evident by my son's smile every day (I can literally count on one hand the number of times he's cried at drop off!). Thank you, KinderCare, for being part of parenting journey!

The staff are all absolutely amazing, they constantly update you throughout the day on naps, feeds, diapers, play and upload pictures. In 3 days she already did 3 art projects and has rolled over from back to belly. To say this place is amazing is an understatement! Also Tricia who is the director is so accommodating and kind, and Miss Rosie is so amazing with my daughter. All of the teachers have been amazing and loving with her! Any nerves I had about daycare are gone, and I now can't wait to send her! If you are considering sending your child here, don't wait, just do it!

We have been at Sunshine Lexington for a year and a half so far. My daughter started at 5.5 months…read moreold, so we began in the youngest babies classroom. We absolutely love it there, and so does our daughter. The teachers are wonderful, evidenced by the almost zero turnover I've seen since we started. The Tadpoles app is a great way to communicate, and you know what they're eating/drinking, when they have diaper changes or use the toilet, when they nap and for how long, and receive photos and videos throughout the day. In addition to the daily Tadpoles updates, there is also the opportunity to sign up for phone calls with the teachers, email teachers directly, and there is a monthly meeting over zoom (recorded and sent with presentation deck after as well) to keep you updated on everything happening. They also make it easy to connect with fellow parents by sharing parent contact info, having designated WhatsApp threads for each classroom, and hosting social events (including adults-only events). I have also been impressed with the curriculum and amazing programs. This year, my daughter had music class, Spanish class, soccer lessons, and yoga lessons! She absolutely loves doing her yoga moves at home and telling me the Spanish words she knows! What I find most helpful though is the guidance and support on when and how to hit certain milestones, including support on starting solid foods, when to switch from bottle to sippy cup, when to switch from sippy cup to open cup, etc. Right now, my daughter is in the beginning stages of potty training, and her excitement for the process started because of the encouragement happening at school. We're so glad we chose Sunshine Lexington!

He has always been ahead of the curve in doing things by himself, reading, writing... He also got through the G&T exams based on what he learnt at Sunshine. The principal, teachers and staff are professional, kind and really hard working - they teach kids to be independent, self reliant and confident. The center itself is very clean, hygienic and feels brand new (for the last 4 years). My only complaint was quick transitions from one class to another which brought in instability when my son was young. But it settled down when he turned 3. There was a high turnover rate in the initial few months but we have been seeing same teachers for the last 2 years and that makes us and our son very happy. WE HAVE BEEN VERY HAPPY WITH SUNSHINE AND EXTREMELY SAD TO MOVE ON.

AMAZING TERRIFYING!!! Our son just attended 2 months…read morebecause you have to give them a month of notice in advance to withdraw your children. The teachers and supervisor are completely unprofessional. Here are the reasons: - My son came injured 4 days out of 5 day (in a week). One day they called my telling me that my son fell down and hit a chair with the forehead. I asked to to see the video. The supervisor told me that it is impossible to show me the video. She does not know that Division of Child Care Services of New York regulates that video surveillance equipment are for the purpose of allowing parents to view their children in the day care. Anyways, parents are in their right to see what happen with their children at the day care. However, the blonde supervisor thinks that parents have to pay the tuition and forget about WATCH their own children. Very UNPROFESSIONAL. - They told me every day that my son ate all the food every day. A couple of days I took my son from the day care without previous notice at 4 pm. Then, they gave me back the whole lunch back. They did not have time to throw away the lunch. However, the daily report on the app (Tadpoles parent) was written - all the food from home-. When next day I asked about the food the supervisor turned and walk away. , she replied that my son ate all the food that the teacher offered to him. That is impossible because they did not open the food container. That is why, my son got home very very hungry every day. - In a very cold day of December, the teachers gave a ride to the babies in Central Park without gloves. I believe they were very busy to put the gloves on to the babies. - They broke the zip of a brand new jacket of my son and they did not say anything to me. - My wife and I always speak over the phone using head phones. However, my son take any small toy and play to speak over the phone. He did not learn that from us. That means, my son has been seeing teacher speak over their mobile phone over and over and over. That could be the reason that babies get injured because they are not well supervised. - On the Tadpoles parent app, Sunshine's 5th ave staff sent us a TEACHER APPRECIATION PDF. On that file, every staff asked for a gift, like Amazon or Visa gift cards, CASH, even they said what things they do not want to get as a gift. Support staff were the only sensible people. They wrote "ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING IS APPRECIATED". - Once I paid the week tuition with my credit card. A couple of weeks later, I did not take my son to the day care. Then I called them to let them know that I will go to pay the tuition in the afternoon but my surprise was when a lady replied me, "it is not necessary you come to pay, I have your credit card information. I can charge the weekly tuition fee". Why did they keep my credit card information? - Once I met my son teacher. She told me that my son does not listen to her because when she tells him - sit down on that chair, my son does not make it-. My son is 1 year old, he does not understand the word's meaning! Very UNPROFESSIONAL. If you appreciate your children, look for a different day care.

I came across these reviews of Seton Day Care and couldn't resist adding our story to the reviews. Their continued endurance is definitely an indicator of what excellent quality daycare embodies. I WILL FOREVER be grateful for the excellent care and love, my sons received at Seton Day Care & Pre-school so many years ago. At the time they were enrolled, my youngest was only 11 months, in pampers, and non-verbal. His older brother was 2 years old and very precocious. We had just suffered the loss of their father, my husband, to an aneurysm and I was a full-time school teacher in NYC. Knowing they were safe, actively engaged in learning, and happy as I dropped them off each morning, seemed to make the world a little easier to maneuver. Excellent teachers, physical space, and a dyno director were just a few of the amenities all mothers crave for their pre-schoolers. I'm not surprised that there are few reviews posted and that there is an unfortunately long waiting list. Pre-schools like Seton Day Care don't require or depend on written reviews. This pre-school is on an island by itself when it comes to parents knocking down its doors to get their pre-schoolers in. Still a Very Grateful Mom, Debra

I agree with the previous poster in terms of the admissions process you definitely need to check in frequently to see if a spot will be open. Once in, my daughter has received a lot of care and attention. They were able to tell that my daughter had a development delay and suggested that I get services for her through the city. Now with the combination of Seton education and the therapy, she has closed much of that gap. Students are consistently involved in working on projects, learning to participate in class discussions, and physical activities like dancing and sports. The style of education is Montessori for those that are interested. So it is tough to get in, but overall I feel it is well worth the effort.

I asked multiple times if she could take a picture of sleeping arrangements or when they were eating. Never received any reassurance. It was always "I'm so busy , I will when I can " We were willing to look past everything mentioned above but then this happened : Notified us the night before she was closing for nys mandated training , claims she sent a flyer in our diaper bag , but we never received it . we get it .. people make mistakes , we asked if we could have 1 day credit for next week as we were doing part time and only paying for 2 days a week . They also follow a structured routine that children find comforting because they know what to expect during the day. Each child gets a lot of individualized attention - the teachers get down on the floor and play with the children. This was important to us because children learn through play: making cars move, opening boxes, stacking blocks, etc. The teachers were genuine and they were engaged in developing each child's curiosity and creativity.
