Over the past two years, she's learned so much--she can count to 20, recognize letters and their sounds, and has developed a wonderfully expressive vocabulary. Beyond literacy and numeracy skills, TNP has given her essential emotional tools: she's learned how to recognize and regulate big feelings with breathing techniques and gentle guidance. She's even started potty training with confidence! From day one, the care and thoughtfulness have been evident. As a baby, she was fed every 3 hours and given all the cuddles and comfort she needed. Now, she enjoys 3 healthy meals a day provided by the daycare. (Truly an unexpected bonus given how affordable the daycare is!) She's also soaking up Spanish too! The variety of activities keeps her engaged and happy--community walks, sprinkler time in the summer, music and art classes, and plenty of free play. It sold me, and before you ask yourself why, understand when kids are just around family they are a little iffy about going to others. That's when i knew he saw something more than i did. And i listened to it. They have helped me in so many ways, it's like Im dropping him off to my sisters house. He's comfortable there and cared for. As a first time parent, it's not easy to let your little one go and put them in the care of someone else's arms. But i would choose them over and over again. They adapt their care to each kid, each personality and make sure everyone feels good. They were particularly helpful for potty training, and very patient too! The new director is really making sure all key information are well communicated to the parents and is always seeking for enhancements. They have a curriculum for each of the classes, starting at 2 year old. A typical day starts with music, breakfast and circle time. Then they have a learning activity. They would spend time outside is weather permitted. They do art projects, learn songs, dance,... Also, they have a huge outdoor private playground (very rare in Manhattan) where the kids can play. They have a lot of toys from slide to seesaw and even scooters. They provide lunch as well, made by a wonderful cook on the premises in an actual kitchen. Week menus are provided to the parents (there is always a fruit for desert). I'm so happy we discovered this daycare and I'm confident that my kids there are growing so well and are very safe. Also note that they handled the Covid crisis perfectly. They organized recurrent zoom meetings (3 per week) to make sure the kids don't disconnect from school. Thanks to the great staff again! I recently removed my children from there after three months of their being enrolled. The main…read morereason was that one of my children kept coming home, saying that he was afraid to go to school, and considering that he had attended a different preschool prior to this, and never said anything like that, we were worried, we informed his teacher who basically dismissed it. We informed the Director of the school who accused me of lying. If I knew then what I know now I would have recorded every conversation I had with any member of that school especially the teacher of the three-year-olds. I am 100% positive that this teacher has lied to me and lied about certain things at least twice, and an audio recording of our conversations would validate everything I have to say. I protected my kids by pulling them out. You should protect yourself going in there. Legally, in the state of New York, you are allowed to record your conversations with another person without them knowing that you were doing so. This is a law that changes on a state-by-state basis. If I am a liar, then nothing bad happens if you record the conversation because there would be nothing to report. But since I'm positive I am not lying and I suspect I am not the only person who's gone through this, you should go ahead and start proactively recording your conversations with the teacher, because when they accuse you of lying, you can prove that you were telling the truth.

my last review was taken down because it did not appear to be a "first-hand" experience…read more interesting. i'll try this again; this time i'll elaborate. i babysat 2 children and used this space in March 2009. it was awful. there were broken toys, the place was dirty (grit on the floor, slimy toys, and the red couch up front is fiiiilthy). the desk up front was cluttered and there was food all over the computer. the girl at the computer seemed to have no idea what was going on and could not provide me with any relevant information or answer my questions. some of the teachers and teachers' assistants appeared to be very nice & attentive to the kids they were watching - i found no fault there. however; there is no natural light, and i saw toys far too small for toddlers to be playing with strewn about through the play space (one of the boys - 18 mos. - i was watching handed me a very small plastic toy fruit that could easily have caused problems if he had put it in his mouth). check this place out if you're unsure - the clutter and mess right in the front area is truly a telling sign of the overall condition of this place. not good, not clean, not professionally run.

The teachers and supervisor are completely unprofessional. Here are the reasons: - My son came injured 4 days out of 5 day (in a week). One day they called my telling me that my son fell down and hit a chair with the forehead. I asked to to see the video. The supervisor told me that it is impossible to show me the video. She does not know that Division of Child Care Services of New York regulates that video surveillance equipment are for the purpose of allowing parents to view their children in the day care. Anyways, parents are in their right to see what happen with their children at the day care. However, the blonde supervisor thinks that parents have to pay the tuition and forget about WATCH their own children. Very UNPROFESSIONAL. - They told me every day that my son ate all the food every day. A couple of days I took my son from the day care without previous notice at 4 pm. Then, they gave me back the whole lunch back. They did not have time to throw away the lunch. However, the daily report on the app (Tadpoles parent) was written - all the food from home-. When next day I asked about the food the supervisor turned and walk away. , she replied that my son ate all the food that the teacher offered to him. That is impossible because they did not open the food container. That is why, my son got home very very hungry every day. - In a very cold day of December, the teachers gave a ride to the babies in Central Park without gloves. I believe they were very busy to put the gloves on to the babies. - They broke the zip of a brand new jacket of my son and they did not say anything to me. - My wife and I always speak over the phone using head phones. However, my son take any small toy and play to speak over the phone. He did not learn that from us. That means, my son has been seeing teacher speak over their mobile phone over and over and over. That could be the reason that babies get injured because they are not well supervised. - On the Tadpoles parent app, Sunshine's 5th ave staff sent us a TEACHER APPRECIATION PDF. On that file, every staff asked for a gift, like Amazon or Visa gift cards, CASH, even they said what things they do not want to get as a gift. Support staff were the only sensible people. They wrote "ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING IS APPRECIATED". - Once I paid the week tuition with my credit card. A couple of weeks later, I did not take my son to the day care. Then I called them to let them know that I will go to pay the tuition in the afternoon but my surprise was when a lady replied me, "it is not necessary you come to pay, I have your credit card information. I can charge the weekly tuition fee". Why did they keep my credit card information? - Once I met my son teacher. She told me that my son does not listen to her because when she tells him - sit down on that chair, my son does not make it-. My son is 1 year old, he does not understand the word's meaning! Very UNPROFESSIONAL. If you appreciate your children, look for a different day care.

One of the Lenox Hill owners, Dr. Fisk is very responsive on email (actually answering questions rather than directing us to the website/FAQs etc) and he invited us on a Zoom call when we were first looking to review the curriculum and features of this brand new school. He also was patient and well-informed to address our (many!) random questions. We are very pleased with the prices as well - cheaper than Vivvi, Primrose, and Bright Horizons and (in our opinion) a far better curriculum and facility with personable leadership that truly cares about running an excellent program. Cannot recommend more highly enough!!
