But the staff at Radcliff Ave are absolutely wonderful. Communication is transparent both in person and via the Brightwheel app. The comfort of updates throughout the day includes pictures, videos and messaging with staff. It is clear the kids participate in activities everyday and that the monthly curriculum updates are adhered to. Balanced meals are offered, naptime is consistent, health policy is clear and followed, and the staff's dedication to the safety and happiness of the kids is evident. We couldn't be happier with our decision.

Screaming at the kids for not understanding something is not acceptable. Yelling at the kids for not being capable of tracing or drawing something perfectly is not acceptable, especially when their hand muscles are still developing. Berating a kid when he/she froze while answering a question is unacceptable and just shows what type of hostile environment is fostered at this school when kids even freeze. Yelling and putting down children because they're taking time while completing a task that is time consuming is not only unacceptable, but abusive. Yelling at a little child because he/she was distracted in a class that is not engaging where all they do is fill out worksheets, listen to muffled videos, and answer more worksheets is not acceptable. Yelling at a child that is still learning how to write their name because it's taking him/her too long is appalling. As a parent, you want your child to be in a safe environment; an environment that is welcoming, nurturing, and that fosters respect. This was not the case I encountered while my child received remote instruction at St. Raymond's. What is more appalling and worrisome is that this happened in front of other parents and caregivers. What happens inside the school when parents are not there? This type of behavior from the teacher and teacher assistant also happens in other classrooms. I have heard another teacher from a nearby classroom yelling at her little kids as well. There is absolutely NO reason why an "educator" needs to yell, berate, or scream at any student, let alone little ones constantly. This was an everyday occurrence. The teacher and teacher assistant always seemed peeved and annoyed. They didn't seem to enjoy their work at all. Imagine being a small child spending 7-8 hours of your day in a hostile environment where you do not know if you are going to get yelled at for some arbitrary reason. In the midst of this terrible pandemic, I was somewhat thankful that my child was receiving remote instruction so that I, as well as other people in my family and my child's caretaker, could see what goes on at this school. Unfortunately, the best the school administration can do is just change your child to another classroom. This is very telling. Teachers face no repercussions and clearly the administration does not care. Also, the teacher in my child's classroom did not provide differentiation of instruction or offered other ways to explain the material. If the children did not get it, she would become exasperated and berated them. This is not teaching. It does not matter how many years these teachers have been working as educators, if you can't foster a respectful, welcoming environment; if you can't differentiate instruction; if you can't explain new material in different ways so that everyone understands; if you are not capable of providing an engaging class, especially for little ones; if you "wing things" as the teacher has said herself during instruction; if all you do is fill out worksheet after worksheet, play videos that do the teaching for you; if you can't behave professionally with parents; if you can't regulate yourself as an adult in a classroom with little ones, then you are NOT a teacher and should not be in a classroom dealing with little ones. You are merely an actor regurgitating material and doing the bare minimum. In other words, you are a body collecting a check. As an educator, this type of teacher is an embarrassment to the profession. Fortunately for the school and the teacher, we can't record them. Thus, they have full control while rendering the parents and the children powerless since teachers like this do not face any consequences. I am thankful I was able to find another school for my child.

I was led to believe he was in a state of the art program ran by a professional corporate franchising background. On this past Wednesday March 20th 2024 I received an alarming text from the establishment in which they stated " Please give the center a call as soon as you can - it is an emergency ( Your child is okay, no incidents). In doing so they gave me news which was unacceptable detailing The Department of Health shut down my sons age's group classroom due to the staff responsible for my Childs care as well as other children's care not having proper certificates and or paperwork which is incredibly irresponsible and irreparable and that I would have to come pick him up as soon as possible. In response I asked is this just an issue today or moving forward and the answer they gave me was most certainly not good enough which was we are working on rectifying the issue and will let you know as soon as we do. I am even more disappointed that now I have to search and put my son in a new program elsewhere , when he had many relationships and friends at this location and it will definitely be a slightly difficult transition for him. I have missed days of work as well due to this inconvenience. All in all THIS IS NOT A PLACE I RECOMMEND YOUR BRING YOUR CHILD. DUE TO NEGLAGENCE AND UNPROFESSIONALISM. Shortly after that incident, A family member went to pick the twins up from school where she found my son soaking in urine. Again the school could not give me a reason as to why he was soaked in his own urine. On April 8th, my son came home with a red eye. I texted the school asking if anyone knew what happened to his eye. I was called back by Ms Raquel where she stated that it could be because he slept on it. On April 12th, I texted the school stating that I had spoke to Ms Crystal at the front desk and notified her that my daughter could not have oranges due to the acidity she said okay that she would make note of it. The note was not made because on two separate occasions before April 12th she came home with a rash from oranges. April 12th, I notified the school again and they made note of it finally. On Tuesday April 16th, my daughter came home with the same redness on her eye like my son had. At this point I texted the school inquiring about the cleanliness of the mats they slept on. I was told they were cleaned daily. I also spoke with Ms Crystal and notified her that my sons blanket went missing, that I had to bring a new one in. She wrote on a pad and said she'd look into it. His blanket was never found. I wanted compensation for his lost blanket and never got it. On Friday, April 19th, my daughter came home stating that Ms DeeDee grabbed her arm forcefully because she wouldn't go to sleep. I continued to look at said arm and saw visible bruising. I immediately called the school and I was connected with someone who works at the front desk. I told her what happened and she said she'd connect back with me but I got no call back. I had to pull them out as soon as possible. This incident has caused much emotional stress and damage to me, my family and my daughter. The schools lack of action and empathy is appalling. I do not feel like this is a safe environment for my children or anyones child to be in. I asked for an in person meeting to be set up with the teacher who assaulted my daughter weeks ago and the school was wishy washy and never granted the meeting. Not to mention they had to shut down two classrooms due to unqualified teachers. Do with this information what you will.

It is nice in the beginning being able to check in over the web cam. My kids were always so excited to see their friends from school walking around the neighborhood. They also developed great foundational skills, learning their alphabet, letter sound relationships, counting and some Spanish and sign language. They loved the weekly visits from the music/ASL teacher. The teachers also helped greatly with potty training once we started at home. It was also great knowing that lunch and snacks were taken care of and that our kids were trying new foods.
