My son just graduated Zusin after 2 years, and the change between day one, and where the kid is at…read moregraduation, is astronomical. My kid was six months when he started. Couldn't walk or talk or anything. Now he poops in the toilet all by himself and uses words like delicious and floss. Insane. What a journey. I remembering hugging all his teachers for the last time. We were all crying. So much love flowing that day. Not to mention, gratitude. That's what I felt the deepest. Sadness and loss for sure. But mostly, I felt thankful. Because what the heck would we have done without childcare? We never would have made it. I cannot believe our good fortune, both in being able to afford daycare, but also having loving teachers who were really good at their jobs. It's funny, I was thinking about the old phrase, "good help is hard to find."No it's not. Good help is as abundant as the sun. Care is not a scarce commodity. Competent people are not rare, unreliable or hiding somewhere. What's hard to find is our own ability to recognize it, afford it, access it, trust it, accept it, and acknowledge how much of our lives depend on it. The transformation my son underwent during those two years? It's not a miracle. It's thousands of tiny acts performed by caring people. Meals served. Diapers changed. Tears soothed. Words repeated. Shoes tied. Conflicts mediated. Naps negotiated. Bodies protected. We applied to our daycare during the second trimester, got on the waiting list, and the day he turned six months, we sent him to school. And now he's like a real person. So what I feel right now is mostly gratitude. We hit the lottery. I wanted to sing Zusin's praises, quite literally. So I wrote a song about them. CitiTots is a place that feels like a lovely intimate community in a city that is busy/transient and corporate at times. It felt like Emmie was being looked after by friends/extended family. Other things I appreciated a lot about Cititots include their proactivity in getting the kids outside every day (other daycares we've been at seem to look for excuses not to go out; CitiTots was the opposite), and the way they organize regular events for parents to attend, engage with other families, and get to know the staff. We are really sad to leave this wonderful daycare.

She attended BB full-time - first in their infant room starting at 4 mos and then in the toddler program through 2.5 yrs (she only left for 3K). Eunice, the head of the program, is wonderful. She is accessible, helpful, always available for a phone call, and very hands-on, so she knows each child well. The staff in both the infant and toddler room are great. They supported our daughter (and us, as first-time parents!) through her many transitions (bottles to solids, crawling to walking, nap schedules etc). Our daughter was always excited to go to daycare, and was in good spirits at pickup. Other things we appreciated: private and spacious outdoor space where they also do winter and summer activities (splash pad, picnics, etc), food provided/included in tuition once your child starts eating solids (the convenience of this is not to be underestimated...), very flexible in general, photos/videos/messaging easily accessible via Bright Wheels app. BB is a special place!

The managers listen well and make adaptations on the fly. The entire facility runs smoothly with two infant classrooms, a 1-2 year old classroom, a 2-3 year old classroom, and a 3 year old classroom. The teacher to student ratio is great (1:3 in the infant rooms, 1:4.5 in the upper room so far) and the teachers are always full of helpful information. They always take the time to talk if you have questions about your children's day and if you have questions about baby gear. One huge highlight is that there's a stroller room. Say goodbye to having to wheel an empty stroller home and having to grab it again before picking up your mini-me. Five stars because we have been dropping our son off here since it opened and he's not only had a great time but has also thrived under their tutelage. Also, it's in a great area so you can always stop by target or trader joes to grab stuff before pick up or after to make dinner at home.

When we were exploring local options, we knew our decision would be based on where we felt he would be 1) safe, 2) healthy and 3) loved. Everywhere we toured, we felt like he'd be safe and healthy. What set Two By Two apart was that we felt like he'd would be cared for by professionals who created genuine, authentic connections - as aunties, as kin. He was so little and our care priorities were more about him feeling seen, heard and addressed. Now that he's approaching Kindergarten, he's getting the same care while also getting support with socialization, learning emotional regulation, and the basics of academics (letter and number recognition, phonics). He has a group of close friends, uses feeling statements and is reading sight words and writing his name. All huge wins without robotic structure or impersonal instruction- which while inevitable in our school systems can wait until the elementary years. Two By Two continues to make progress in communication, family engagement and facilities. We've seen growth here and have been grateful for their request for feedback and impressed to see it implemented. Considering our care priorities and the experience that our son and we have had here, we will continue to recommend Two By Two to our neighbors and friends.

Man, sending your kid to be taken care of by strangers can be tough…read more I was fully prepared to hate every daycare we toured and subsequently convince my wife that I should quit my job and take care of our little girl full time, because no one was good enough to do the job.* But we loved Changing Tomorrow as soon as we walked inside. The location may not be ideal (for us or in general - it's located in a construction-clogged area of Downtown Brooklyn), but the facilities are excellent, and the people are wonderful. It is brand new, clean, and very well run. It's as if they took stock of the bougie parents in the neighborhood, and decided to create a daycare that offered everything they might want: Flexible schedules and long hours (open 7 am to 7 pm). Nurse on site at all times. Organic food catered for the kids (after they turn 1). Montessori methods that focus on the cognitive, social, and emotional development of your kid. Frequent activities like dance, soccer, finger-painting, and trips to the park when it's nice out. Best of all, they have monthly meetings where they take suggestions for what the parents would like to see from the school, and they actually try and implement those suggestions where it makes sense. (I wish those meetings weren't at 7 am, but I suppose getting up early is part of being a parent.) We're only a couple of weeks in at this point, but so far I have to say that the staff is just amazing. They put up with the minute and specific instructions we (and I imagine all parents) throw at them on a daily basis, and they are shockingly on top of the Brightwheel app that they use to keep us updated on our child throughout the day. Yesterday I got over a dozen photos and videos of my daughter, plus updates on her naps, feedings, diaper changes, and more. My kid still cries every time I drop her off, but it's really gratifying to see a smiling photo of her just a little bit later so I know she isn't crying all day. A huge thank you to Meridith the Education Director, Ms. Victoria, Ms. Janiece, Ms. Maria, and all the other wonderful people that work here. I'm constantly surprised that the teachers in the other age groups (that don't spend the day caring for her) recognize my daughter on sight when we walk in the door; it makes the place feel a lot more like a family. Thank you all for taking care of our daughter; I know it isn't easy, and we really appreciate how much you care. It makes it a little bit easier to leave her with you. ____________ *And also because I'm a progressive man that knows my wife can handle the breadwinning duties in this modern world. Definitely not because I'm tired of working and need to be supported in this lifestyle to which I've become accustomed.

Amanda was so wonderful and found a place for us at very short notice. We weren't expecting much -- we were just happy to have found somewhere so quickly -- but our daughter flourished and thrived under their care. Amanda was extremely communicative and seemed to know everything about how our child was developing. She is so great with the children and just an extremely positive force to be around. We never worried for a second when our daughter was there. The teachers were wonderful at helping her adapt to her first daycare, and then helping her transition to the toddler class. We got regular updates and photographs throughout the day that regularly made us laugh. They came up with really great ideas for activities. They calmed us when we were worried and gave us tips to help her along. The facilities here are amazing, but the staff are what makes it great. We HIGHLY recommend Changing Tomorrow Academy and will be eternally grateful for how they took care of our little one.
