AMAZING TERRIFYING!!! Our son just attended 2 months because you have to give them a month of notice in advance to withdraw your children. The teachers and supervisor are completely unprofessional. Here are the reasons: - My son came injured 4 days out of 5 day (in a week). One day they called my telling me that my son fell down and hit a chair with the forehead. I asked to to see the video. The supervisor told me that it is impossible to show me the video. She does not know that Division of Child Care Services of New York regulates that video surveillance equipment are for the purpose of allowing parents to view their children in the day care. Anyways, parents are in their right to see what happen with their children at the day care. However, the blonde supervisor thinks that parents have to pay the tuition and forget about WATCH their own children. Very UNPROFESSIONAL. - They told me every day that my son ate all the food every day. A couple of days I took my son from the day care without previous notice at 4 pm. Then, they gave me back the whole lunch back. They did not have time to throw away the lunch. However, the daily report on the app (Tadpoles parent) was written - all the food from home-. When next day I asked about the food the supervisor turned and walk away. , she replied that my son ate all the food that the teacher offered to him. That is impossible because they did not open the food container. That is why, my son got home very very hungry every day. - In a very cold day of December, the teachers gave a ride to the babies in Central Park without gloves. I believe they were very busy to put the gloves on to the babies. - They broke the zip of a brand new jacket of my son and they did not say anything to me. - My wife and I always speak over the phone using head phones. However, my son take any small toy and play to speak over the phone. He did not learn that from us. That means, my son has been seeing teacher speak over their mobile phone over and over and over. That could be the reason that babies get injured because they are not well supervised. - On the Tadpoles parent app, Sunshine's 5th ave staff sent us a TEACHER APPRECIATION PDF. On that file, every staff asked for a gift, like Amazon or Visa gift cards, CASH, even they said what things they do not want to get as a gift. Support staff were the only sensible people. They wrote "ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING IS APPRECIATED". - Once I paid the week tuition with my credit card. A couple of weeks later, I did not take my son to the day care. Then I called them to let them know that I will go to pay the tuition in the afternoon but my surprise was when a lady replied me, "it is not necessary you come to pay, I have your credit card information. I can charge the weekly tuition fee". Why did they keep my credit card information? - Once I met my son teacher. She told me that my son does not listen to her because when she tells him - sit down on that chair, my son does not make it-. My son is 1 year old, he does not understand the word's meaning! Very UNPROFESSIONAL. If you appreciate your children, look for a different day care. read more

Hard to find that quality in harlem and always felt that they do care about my daughter I don't listen the hateful comments from other people , just make your own opinion and don't blame the school if you have something against one of the teacher read more

Our son loved sunshine so much! He attended from 6 months up to over 2 yrs old and was excited to go everyday and loved all the teachers there. The whole staff is really loving and dedicated to all the kids and they do so many activities and are really responsive to working on the development of the kids as they grow. We just moved so can't attend anymore but we wanted to give a big recommendation and a big thank you to the sunshine group! read more

My daughter is almost 3 years old and has attended Sunshine since she was just 6 months old. The teachers at Sunshine are great: they are enthusiastic and friendly. The daycare is EXTREMELY clean, and my daughter has never really been seriously sick, which I attribute to their attention to hygiene. HOWEVER, I have two major complaints. The first, more concerning one, is that they treat the teachers like crap. There is CONSTANT turnover in staff, which is a HUGE red flag for me. Daycare is a hard job, and I understand that the pay is low generally, but Sunshine feels like they aren't nice, flexible, or supportive of their employees. We, the parents, pay A LOT of money, and it would be nice if the Sunshine ownership treated their employees well. Secondly, they serve the students the most disgusting, mass produced food. They used to use Red Rabbit, which was much more healthy, but, for financial reasons I assume, they have switched to the Henry Hippo program, which is so gross. And the snacks they serve are like pieces of rolls. Unfortunately, because there really aren't a ton of other options in the neighborhood, we are more or less stuck with Sunshine. I wish the ownership and administration were more open to dialogue with families. read more

AMAZING!!!! In every sense of the word!! From the teachers (yes, the staff at Sunshine Learning Center (SLC) are not just awesome carers, but teachers too), to the clean and immaculate facilities/ properties to the nurturing and attention to every single detail as it pertains to your child. Our son joined SLC when he was 3 months young....he is now 4yrs young and is in the last class (Pre-K). To say he has come leaps and bounds over the years would be a complete understatement. So, what did SLC do to help my little boy attain his full potential and more? In infant class: the teachers really get the babies involved in activities!! I was quite surprised but finger (and toes) painting, baby yoga, story time were all part of the babies daily activities. It was comforting to see how the babies were taken care of AND entertained. In toddler class: amongst so many other things, they really helped my little one potty train- his teachers and I worked together to ensure consistency and before we knew it, he was out of diapers, into pull ups and then out of pull ups, all before the age of 3! As many parents can attest, this milestone can be pretty daunting but the advice, guidance and support from my sons teachers was paramount in making this task successful (and not so painful). In Pre-K: Things like, being able to count to 100, knowing ALL his letters (both upper and lower case), writing his name, reading words and now sentences, interactions with his friends from an emotional and social aspect through playing soccer, circle time, reading, small group activities (especially chess.....he loves playing that game since SLC introduced it to the children) are just a few of the things he has learnt during his time in Pre-K. There is so much more that I could include during each phase of my sons learning and life at SLC but overall, the teachers and all other staff have been nothing short of just fantastic. They interact with the children very well - they provide feedback on your child when you want it, the parent teacher conferences are always great to have so you can hear how your child is doing and progressing. They are ALWAYS available to take your calls and answer ANY questions you may have. In our particular case, my son is on a very strict diet (due to a genetic condition)...from Infant 1 through to Pre-K, EVERY SINGLE TEACHER who has taken care of/ taught my son has been completely on top of his dietary needs. The level of comfort and sense of relief that I have with the care and attention he receives from his teachers when it comes to his food has been amazing. I have more faith in these teachers when it comes to taking care of my sons food, on a day to day basis, than some of my own family members!! My son has built some of the best relationships in his young life at SLC - from the teachers to the maintenance staff at the premises to his friends and his friend's parents. We have been and are beyond lucky to have found SLC, for giving our son the best years of his early life and for setting him up for success!! read more

Our son has attended this daycare since he was 6 months old (he is almost 1.5 now). We have adored his teachers. The facilities are clean and everyone is friendly. He has made great friends and is learning so much. It is a great community. read more

Sunshine is great!! I wouldn't believe anything you read, at the end of the day its your child, go in for a tour meet the staff and make your decision off your experience. Tuition is affordable, the staff is extremely friendly, hours are good for working parents like myself. What is the most important is that my daughter loves it. I've had nothing but a great experience with Sunshine. Recommend it to all!! read more

My son attended this school for a period of time, lets say about 2 yrs the school is good for infants but once your child become older lets say 2 years old its best to shop for another school because the school then become a babysitting service, the teachers are mostly teenagers and they do not challenge your children or to say teach them anything but to play and sing songs, they feed your children frozen food and for $400 a week the kids are supposed to be eating cook meals they are still young children which they very well need there fruits, and vegetables, the young lady who say she is the director or assistant director who is never in her office to assist the parents when needing help, her paper work for helping the children is piled in a corner she sits in the back of the daycare with her employees talking personal conversations. Then they open a site across the street where there is no one watching the front door for the incoming or outgoing of people picking up and dropping off of children they did state they have cameras in the office but again no one is never in the office to watch the camera so the children across the street is not safe. I believe this school is just for the money and not for the children. My son is now in a better school where they have dance class, lab time, swimming program, learning math, and reading at the age of 3 yrs old and they have a kitchen were all meals are cook and prepared. So i give this school a 1 star and hope it gets better because truthfully its a babysitting service drop your kids off and pick them back up. and this school cost to much money to not offer anything for the children in the age group 2- 4 yrs old. read more
