Definitely recommend this place if you're out in the Farming Hills Area! The service was great as well and the serviers were very informative on the menu and the whole staff is super nice!

Loads of places do house made pasta as a show, but that pasta goes to dry or stock up for another day, but at Jiang Nan, you place your order and they get to work pulling the noodles in front of a huge picture window and then they take them right to the pot to make your meal... and what a meal it was! To start, we shared pork bao and the cucumbers... oh my gosh the cucumbers (crispy, fresh, tossed in a bit of chili oil and garlic and just so dang good)! I got Beijing Zha Jiang Mian: delicious pan fried noodles topped with a sauce of savory fermented soybean paste and ground pork with fresh scallions and carrots. My husband got Beef Stir Fried La-Mian: tender sliced beef with bok choy stir fried with fresh noodles and a savory brown sauce. Our friends got soup noodles (I forgot which dishes) and they loved them as well. My only critique is that service was a little slow, even though the restaurant was half full. You must try this place!

You can tell this is truly a family operation. There is such attentive and impeccable service here. Every time I've been, I've felt genuinely welcomed and taken care of. The food is absolutely outstanding. I've been back multiple times now, and my favorite is the spiced pork wontons with noodles. The wontons are crispy and juicy on the inside, and the noodles soak up all the spicy oil flavor. This is the kind of dish I find myself thinking about later. The mango crispy chicken is another must-order. Crispy chicken with that sweet mango flavor sounds simple enough, but it just works. It has a perfect balance of sweet and spicy, my favorite combination. Oakland Tea House is exactly the kind of small, family-run restaurant I love finding. Great food is one thing, but great food combined with genuine hospitality is what makes a place memorable. I will always find my way back to this place; highly recommend.

The first time my wife and I stopped by it was closed (Monday and Tuesday) If you enjoy authentic Asian cuisine I highly recommend you give this place a try. The owner ( Vingy for short) greeted my wife and I and helped us choose menu items based on what we liked, etc. We were one of two parties in the very small dining room ( eight tables) when we arrived and by the time we ate our dinner there were no tables available. We started with pork dumplings and cucumber salad as our appetizers. The salad was the freshest I've had anywhere. Bright, delicious but not overpowering. The dumplings were tasty and perfect in the two dipping sauces that accompanied these tasty morsels. I ordered the Dan-Dan noodles while my wife ordered one of the crispy chicken dishes (garlic). My noodle dish was filled with handmade noodles, braised pork and fresh aromatic vegetables. I could have licked the bowl it was that good. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her chicken entree as well. We ordered a pot of oolong tea that became more tasty as we let it steep at our table. This is the most authentic Asian food I've ever had hands down. Needless to say, we will be back to sample the other items on the menu.

I've never had okoy before and I don't like sweet potato but with the shrimp it was a great savory combo! I do wish the buko pandan had nata de coco because that's my favorite ingredient and a little less coconut shavings. I love the concept of having a different menu each week which I found on Facebook (I don't think there is a website).

From the exposed brick wall to the subtle references to their homeland, it's a comfortable setting that you don't mind spending extra time enjoying. The wait staff are wonderful and the service was unbeatable. My SIL from Manila joined us and after they had a nice conversation (in Tagalog), they jammed a ton of what they had made onto a couple of platters and charged us next to nothing. I think they liked her. We tipped the daylights out of them. They responded with Mango Cake to take home, since we were stuffed. Everything is delicious. Best Pancit I've had in years. Beef was great. The lumpia actually made the way I like it. I'm going to go ahead and label this authentic. Pro Tip: If you have no prior experience with Filipino food, tell them so. It was the best decision we've made that day, I got the burned miso ramen, my husband the Major Tom Khatsu and we both lived them! Very flavorful broth, and chewy noodles. The staff was very friendly and helpful considering it was our first time. The only wish I had is that their bao was without dairy, so it could be vegan too. We'll be back for more!
