We were in search of a low key relaxing dinner out and came upon this place advertising Thai and Sushi (which made me dubious because I'm suspicious of restaurants claiming to serve up two cuisines). We looked at the menu and it had everything we wanted. We ordered that Pad Thai with prawns (also available with chicken or beef) and a Panang Curry with prawns at the counter. Both were beautifully presented and authentically delicious. The Panang curry was creamy, fragrant and nutty and packed with prawns and fresh vegetables. The Pad Thai was also very tasty and looked like it was cooked to perfection. They also serve a range of beers and soft drinks (but no cider if that's what floats your boat). There was a basket of complimentary prawn crackers for guests to snack on while we waited for our food. The service was great and our server was very friendly. There are a couple tables that seat 4 and a few bar seats too so if you fancy a quiet, informal Thai dinner out then come here! I'll certainly be coming back to try the other items on the menu!

It started out really good, maybe four stars, we are in Denmark so expectations weren't super high, but by the end of the large two serving bowl that I had no guilt finishing by myself, the sweetness, creaminess and perfectly mild spicy aftertaste convinced me that retiring to Thailand is definitely in the cards. Tiger beer. Enough said. Didn't try the Sushi but I usually let my wife and oldest child handle that so an edit will be forthcoming. Going to be hard to try other restaurants during our ten day stay since it is only 50m from our accommodations...

Since the first time I was here I feel like the sandwiches are just getting better and better. SANDWICH: My favorites are #1 and #8. The pate is superb. The sandwiches are always really well balanced. Not too sweet, not too spicy, not too tangy. Just perfect. The bread is always good as well. It's not too hard, but still has a crunch to it. Approx 60-65 kr for a sandwich. Good value, but they could be just slightly bigger to fill you up more. BUBBLE TEA: I was super excited when I saw that they have bubble tea as well. Not the fruity stuff, but real milk tea with tapioca. The milk tea is good, but they use too much/big ice which results in the tapioca balls clumping up. Also, they could be a big bigger considering the price. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Go experience a Vietnamese sandwich if you haven't. You won't regret it.

The tables definitely need to be wiped clean, but the food is actually authentic and flavorful. We had a vietnamese sandwich and a bun bo, and both were good! With a pop and vietnamese coffee, it all came to about 220 kroner. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and after we ate, we asked for our vietnamese coffee to go. Absolutely no problem - to my excitement I was even given the coffee in a to go bag.

So when National Geographic named the Top 10 places in the world to eat ice cream, Vaffelbageriet…read moreactually ranked #9. I didn't realize I was patronizing the ninth best ice cream parlor in the world when I took a sweet-tooth respite during my leisurely evening stroll in the world-famous Tivoli Gardens last September. In fact, I didn't know the place had a name, but I just saw a herd of toddlers with over-sized cones and followed the drip marks on the pavement. Those led me to a very festive-looking pavilion with a welcoming counter chock full of sweet treats not the least of which was ice cream. Apparently, the name of the place is Danish for ice cream served in large waffle cones, which no surprise, is their house specialty. Their most popular item is the Amerikaner, a decadent-looking mountain of ice cream in a waffle cone, four scoops worth ladled with some syrupy, only-in-Europe topping, dollops of whipped cream, and a chocolate-covered meringue puff rather than the expected maraschino cherry. It doesn't look like anything I've seen in the states, but it's called the Amerikaner because it's the picture of unhealthy excess, I'm guessing. What a reputation we have across the pond. I refuse to live down to my stereotype and went for a good old-fashioned vanilla soft-serve waffle cone covered in chocolate sprinkles, large of course (see photo). Sure, it was still decadent but at 30 DKK (Danish krone) or $5.32, it was a relative bargain. And frankly, it was one of the creamiest cones I've ever had, which of course, means it's still sitting in my thighs all these months later. No matter since it hit the spot, and for Pete's sake, or I guess I should say for Per's sake, it was Tivoli, and you're supposed to have carnival food. So stop judging me. Anyway, I don't know if Vaffelbageriet is truly the ninth best ice cream in the world, but who's complaining? ICE CREAM - 4 stars...creamy excess that may give you a diabetic coma AMBIANCE - 4 stars...cute spot with plenty of seats if you need recovery time from the Star Flyer SERVICE - 4 stars...very friendly servers keep you in a good mood here TOTAL - 4 stars...big globs of ice cream in a warm, freshly baked waffle cone in the middle of Tivoli Gardens...I can dig it

When you can just walk into Munchies and experience it first hand! This place takes you on a pick-your-own(ice cream)-adventure. You pick from a choice of regular or seasonal flavored bubble waffle. Add your choice of fav ice cream to it. They have vanilla options like well.. Vanilla, chocolate, cookies and cream, strawberry and seasonal wonders like Black currant, mint chocolate, banana, shocking blue coconut , lemon sorbets and more. After that you get to add toppings like fruits, nuts, fudge, kit-kat and top it off with a drizzle. The toppings and drizzles cost extra. Just the ice cream and waffle cost about 50 DKK (~$7.5) and toppings are about 5 DKK ($ 0.75) each. You get to watch them make fresh bubble waffle in the back and the aroma of freshly made waffle is just delightful as you wait for it. Once the ice cream is served, you take the customary picture of course. But then you'd have to rush to finish it coz it's a race between you and the warm waffle melting your ice cream. I tried the regular waffle with double ice cream Salted Caramel and Banana. Both flavors were delightful but the waffle ice cream ended up being too heavy. It may be a good option to share though! If it's a particularly cold day, you can always get the hot chocolate. Taste wise the ice cream was much like any other that I've had. The look of the ice cream is very instagram worthy though. It will definitely spice up your insta feed. You can see people trying to take cool money shots with their ice creams outside the place. All in all it's a good place to visit if you're in the area. My friend got the seasonal mighty mango ice cream in an original bubble waffle with strawberries for 55kr. The prices hurt my wallet real hard, but the ice cream wasn't too sweet which I love, and it almost tasted like the strawberry Haagen Dazs.
