My favorite drink is the dirty milk order it all the time and the service is always amazing and fast

Alas, another boba joint establishing into the good ole' town of Modesto. This particular spot has taken over the closed down Starbucks that was jointly within the Barnes and Noble on McHenry Avenue. I arrived with a party of four on their Grand Opening, 1/4/20, as a part of the promotion they were having, which was a Buy One Get One (BOGO) free! SWEET! I always love these as it is a great way for everyone to try and experience around the menu. Immediately upon walking in I noticed that this place is SMALL! It is pretty tight and crammed not allowing for enough seats. From my estimated guess, they could probably fit 3-4 different parties at once which is not very much. They have two tables that could accommodate 4 to 5 people each and then a side-wall, which I thing can seat 3 to 4 people. I suppose people could sit outside the shop, but that can be a little inconvenient for most. So down a star for that. It is also a bit dark. Not enough lighting can reach into the shop due to the limited window visibility and structure outside the store. It also doesn't help that the walls are gray, but I understand they are trying to perceive a modern look which is cool. Fortunately, on the plus side they do have free WiFi! The password is posted right above the trashcan by the entrance. To be honest, this is a little odd spot to be having it there but I guess! I'm probably just being a little too observant now haha. As for the main reason we came here. The drinks. Now, I have heard from friends (who came here previously) that the drinks can be very sweet in addition to being a hit or miss, depending on what you order. I kept those ideas in mind and I must say, they were absolutely correct. One star down and you will see the reasoning down below. Order: 1. Jasmine Tea with Salted Cheese Crema: I requested 25% sweetness and less ice as this is my go-to order for any new boba spot. My favorite out of the four listed. Great jasmine flavor that wasn't overbearing. A very light, subtle taste, as well as, fragrant. I would come back just for this. The salted cheese crema was creamy, savory and overall good. 2. Oreo Milk Tea with Salted Cheese Crema (with boba pearls): This was a very thick and creamy drink. Note that it DOES have "milk" and "cheese crema". The mixture of these two together for any drink will cause it to be this way. Just not for us. Pretty sweet as well. However, the pearls were cooked beautifully. Great texture and flavor so A+ on that!! 3. Earl Grey Milk Tea: Earl grey flavor was definitely there! The taste was fine. Also on the sweet side, but we had no special requests on the sweetness or ice level. I would say it will pair nicely with a topping, which we lacked (our fault), so make sure if you are ordering this to get a topping! 4. Dragon Ball Tea: Love the name! The Asian in me has called to it! This is basically a refresher drink that will be great on a hot summer day. It is a dragon fruit infused drink with aloe vera and some small bits of dragon fruit. By "small bits" I mean VERY small. Unfortunately, we all didn't enjoy it due to this being overly sweet. We understand that it IS dragon fruit, which is naturally sweet. However, possible artificial sweetness/juice is being added to the drink that accumulates within making it way over the top. Aloe vera was decent, but wish there were actual large chunks of dragon fruit floating around. A bit disappointing. Last-minute thoughts. There should be no trouble finding parking in this huge lot. The service was pretty good and all the workers seemed friendly. In my opinion, if you are not a fan of sweetness, then make sure to adjust the sweetness levels as that was the common conception we had with most of our drinks. Prices are fair and comparable to other boba joints around. As one of the early reviews, I do recommend to try this place out and have an experience of your own. They are new and constantly improving so my points in this review might not even be valid in the future! I do agree that the drinks are a hit or miss, but once you find something it can be very good! As good as SoCal and Bay Area boba chains? Probably not. But hey, it's Modesto! I definitely see a competitor here. They do have a great selection and assortment of drinks so I will definitely be back. Cheers! read more

I wrote a very similar review for the Tea Daze in Stockton, but changed the information about the location and service. Drinks: Drinks and price are good. If this is all you read, go there and try it! I got the Tropical Paradise Fruit Tea at the Stockton location. In the Modesto location I mixed the Lychee and Strawberry Fruit Teas. Both these drinks I got with 50% sugar. My friend got matcha party because it was pretty, she said it tasted chalk-ie, like "powderie." This was at the Stockton location as well. Total so far I have gone to this location and the Modesto one once. Personally I liked the Tropical Paradise Fruit Tea, but this flavor will change based on the season. Currently (during winter) they only have mango and pineapple in Stockton and only pineapple in Modesto. I did not get this at the Modesto location because it did not have Pineapple. The Lychee Strawberry tea was very good also. One of the best I've had with those two blended together. Not too sweet too because I asked for 50% sugar. More will be written about this in the Modesto review. Workers/Service: (-2 stars) First when I got there I was intrigued about having a the Tropical Paradise Fruit Tea, I enjoy fresh fruit with my drinks; having fresh fruit reminds me of Purple Kow when I have it. So I ask the employee, "What comes in the drink?" He named off everything: "Strawberries, mango, pineapple, and [one more fruit I forgot what he said]." So I said "great let me try that, no pineapples please." He then told me, that there would be no fresh fruit because only pinapple is available right now. Why name all those fruits if only one is in season, then not tell me until I am about to order? Wow. I usually never have a problem with service people but that was a dense move. Next I asked if I could get a mix of lychee and strawberry (it's just a syrup) fruit tea. He said sure but couldn't guarantee the flavor. What does that mean? Usually if you go to a boba place you can at least have them offer to remake your drink if you don't like it. For the record, I have never had a drink remade. I wasn't expecting this type of service but it would be nice if it was offered. Instead he said "I can't guarantee that." I hope this wasn't the owner (I don't think it was, he seemed like a kid) but have had owners in the past not do customer service good (I think the owner is a woman). When I asked what he can't guarantee the flavor means, he just repeated himself "I can't guarantee that." Pretty weird. Pricing: In terms of price, it's about 4.50-ish a drink. This isn't bad, more than Lollicup but less than T4; it is closer to T4 quality than Lollicup. Not saying Lollicup isn't good, but I do feel like T4 offers a higher quality product. It is way cheaper than Kung Fu which is across the street ($6 a drink usually). Location: This place use to be the Starbucks next to the Barnes and Noble. I use to like coming her, but the Starbucks location gets nowhere near the traffic of the Briggsmore location. Also this place is across the street from Kung Fu tea, which should be pretty tough for them. Both place have great tea (service sucks at Kung Fu). This location offers a stamp card that looks the same as the Stockton location. I did not personally go to school with the owner, but I believe that she or her family members were apart of the Stockton community and went to high school at bear creek. I went in today and they did not have what I wanted but the man at the counter recommended I get their new Cafe de Taro and it is probably my favorite drink now! The mocha and the taro play perfectly off of each other and I will definitely have it again! This place is easily the BEST boba place in Modesto and I've tried all of them. The other places are too sweet, taste chalky, or just don't have good boba. Their honey boba is soft, chewy, and sweet and I highly recommend it. read more

This is Tea Daze second location and it's as great as the first location! The location is very welcoming and the employees are just as welcoming. The inside of the store was decorated very nicely and the interior is very spacious. Customer service has to be A1 here and is very on point. Ordered the Matcha Milk Tea - very powdery and made it super hard to drink, could find better elsewhere; the Jasmine Green Milk Tea tasted like straight up pediasure and could not taste an ounce of the jasmine green tea that was supposed to be in it (quickly makes it better and that says a lot!) Where to begin? When I arrived around 3: 30 p.m. Thursday 4/7, I was greeted by an employee who was preoccupied with other orders ahead of mine. As he finishes the orders, he gets to me and apologizes for the wait time. I have no problem with it, especially when it comes to working solo. With so many great options and it being my first time, I didn't know what to get. I asked for recommendations and they did not disappoint. The server asked if I was in the mood for something with a creamy milky base or a fruity and refreshing base. So far, the customer service is on point. I opt for the Ic Wife, Hot Summer, and Strawberry Green Tea. Then the server politely asked if I wanted to add toppings to any of my drinks. I only understood what "boba" was but didn't know what the other toppings were. He kindly responded and helped me better understand the other toppings that were available. For the Hot Summer, I additionally added boba on top of the lychee jelly and aloe vera that were already in the drink. Whereas for the Icy Wifey, he suggested drinking it alone because toppings would change the flavor profile. Finally, for the Strawberry Green Tea, I added strawberry popping boba. When the drinks came out, they far exceeded my expectations. Never have I ever seen drinks like these. They look like SoCal or Bay Area-type drinks. I took a couple of pictures with a ring light. The taste is definitely worth another visit. Other drinks that caught my eye are the Creme Brulee, Strawberry Matcha Latte, and Pandan Horchata. I love the simple and many varieties of drinks to choose. Boba is on point! You can adjust the sweetness level (normal sweetness is 100%) and ice level to your drink. Customer service is also on point as well. It's very good location right next to Barnes & Nobles, Hallmark, and Poke Bowl!
