They take advantage of customers including senior citizens. My mother was in the hospital and my aunt, who she lives with, was supposed to cancel their service. Found out she is struggling with memory loss which we didn't know until now because she didn't cancel it. Tried working with TDS to get the service canceled and credit back to her account for the unused service. The lady was nice but said while she doesn't agree with their policies she has to follow them. This is really inhumane especially because they are on a fixed income. read more

Scam artists. They'll sell you whatever lie it takes to get you to call, like Affordable Internet for low income individuals, just to tell you that you don't qualify so they can try and sell you internet service. I would honestly rather pay for internet than get anything from TDS. read more

I have been a customer of TDS for 5 years. Don't ask me why. My choses are limited. To put it bluntly, there service is marginal at best ( slow speed) and there accounting system is from the dark ages. I would not be surprised if they still use floppy disks, for those who remember FD. Don't waist your time trying to contact them as they will use the well worn phrase about Covid to cover there under staffing. My advise is to shop around and if all else fails buy unlimited data from your cell phone provider. Use your phone's hot spot for any streaming. Good Luck read more

We switched to TDS and they provided both phone and internet, which they provided and it worked pretty well. I needed to upgrade my internet speed this year. They NO LONGER sell internet. They can do the speed I have (1.5 mbps) but no faster. The REFUSE to let me out of my contract, which ends in 13 months. They want $2,340 to let me out of my contract because "they still provide the services I signed up for" even though they can't upgrade my internet speed to what I need. This is going to cost my small business (4 employees) in unnecessary fees, because they can't provide the service I need. They are not adaptable. DO NOT be tempted. DO NOT use this company. Plus their service has always been slow when issues arise. read more

TDS Telecom serves all over and we are in Minneapolis. To save money we switched our current phone service provider to TDS. WHAT A MISTAKE. The whole experience has been a nightmare and I am not exaggerating. Not only has our service been down multiple times, the technicians messed up our current equipment and now we have phone system problems too! Customer support is only concerned about how many tickets they close and not about helping you. And the wait time for help by phone is LONG wait, email long as well, chat is probably the most successful way to get through. Our bills have been wrong, and our account rep is switched to a new person every 4 months since we started! So you have to reintroduce yourself and your needs to a new person several times a year. When our contract is up, we are NOT resigning. And now that I have been asking around, I have found that other companies have had problems with them as well. Wish we would have known that beforehand! But all the references we checked on prior to gave us positive feedback. read more
