So their algorithm constantly flags things as fraud, like literally multiple times a day every week im going through this bullshit. Then on top of that, i had to cancel my debit card because of the actual fraud, i was waiting on the new one to be sent - THEY NEVER SENT IT. apparently because they thought it was "sketchy" meanwhile ive banked with them for years....how interesting that you think im sketchy while you ignore the years of track record receipts where theres never been an issue with me . the worst part is they didnt even let me know...so ive been without a debit card for OVER A WEEK!!! So yeah, they dont operate with logic or professionalism obviously and they definitely dont give a shit about their customers. I will seriously be telling every single person I know to never ever bank with them and how awful they are.

This branch is tucked back in a large office building, right on the edge of the industrial park. I get the impression that most of their clientele are local businesses, though I'm sure that there are plenty of local workers who stop by from time to time. The tellers are friendly & the manager is pretty nice too (he set up my account once upon a time). The ATM is right when you walk into the office building, while the bank itself is in a suite a little deeper in the building. It feels weird for a bank, but I guess it's not anything bad, just different. There are some visitor spots in the parking lot to get you in and out a little quicker. Just beware of the hours...unlike other M&T branches who stay open late a night or two a week as well as some Saturday hours, this one is a M-F 9-4. Great for running out at lunch but inconvenient otherwise for us working folk!

I informed them that I would catch up on his payments by next month. They told me that they would not wait for one month and were going to pursue foreclosure immediately. My father is 89, bedridden, and they would rather evict him than give him one more month to catch up on his two payments. This bank lacks humanity, and while they claim to want to help, the only assistance they offer is to give you one week to make the payments. They will not notify you of the consequences of being even one month behind. Moreover, they will completely ignore your calls and emails while you attempt to make the payment. Their only intention is to foreclose on people's homes. Stay away from this bank at all costs or risk losing your home.

I kept Univest for eight months after I moved to California. Period…read more It takes a lot of faith to trust a bank whose nearest branch/location is a six hour plane ride away, but was worth it. Real people (real Pennsylvanians) answer the phones and their employees admit when they don't have an immediate answer. Fees are kept at a minimum AND my checking account bore some modest -really modest- monthly interest. I hope that this community bank continues to grow and perhaps fill the rather present viod that was left when Washington Mutual was gobbled up. I've banked with Wells Fargo, Bank of America, Citi, Chase, and ING (and WaMu, boo-hoo). Univest is at the top of the heap, and they right banking culture. I would highly recommend Univest to folks on either coast or somewhere in between.

While this is one that I debated on writing about, truth is truth…read more 2-3 years ago I was in the market to switch insurance and after seeing a million gecko commercials I figured I would get a quote from the gecko. I did via the website and everything looked good but I also had a potential lingering issue with my homeowners insurance that the 800# number rep. mentioned might be better handled locally. Fair enough. I call the Whitehall office and the person who answers the phone said that she can't help me and that the agent is busy. She recommends that I make an appointment and come in a day or two later to speak with the agent himself. Fair Enough. I show up the day of the appointment and the same person I spoke with on the phone is the one who greats me behind her desk. She says that the agent is too busy to see me but that he recommends waiting to see if the pending issue (it was legal-but it also never happened) occurs and if closer to the time of my existing policy running out, the issue doesn't move forward, them maybe he can help me. Great. I love getting the run around, being lied to and having my time wasted. For whatever reason I stuck with Geico by going home and recalling the 800# and they finished the transaction without issue in ten minutes. Fast forward a year or two and while Geico giveth with their 15% rebate, when my renewal recently came up they also taketh away with an arbitrary 25% rate increase. I call the 800# and Zachary tells me he has no idea but likely it's because of a high number of Covid cases in my area which equates to more risk for the company. No crap. Not making up that answer. What a pile of BS in relation to an auto insurance policy. He also recommends calling the local agent who he says could possibly work with me to explain things better or see if any other discounts are available. Based on my last go around with the local office where appointments are not honored I took this as a sign that it was time to move on and I did. Shopped around and beat their quote easily without issue. Of course now Geico wants me back which is why I've gotten multiple emails and pieces of regular mail asking me not to forget about them, etc. Thanks but no thanks. (While I will certainly admit that my experience(s) could be an outlier, either way they happened and I wouldn't dream of doing business with this office or this company again.)

I go in for a walk-in appointment and from the get-go, I'm met with hostility. I told the man at the front desk that I would like to do a walk in appointment to do my fingerprints, but I'm RUDELY told that I have to go online and SCHEDULE a WALK-IN appointment, which made ABSOLUTELY no sense at all. After that, I was basically shooed away and was told to "just have a seat". And if that wasn't enough, after waiting like 30 mins and watching many people get their fingerprints done before me (even though I was the first person to show up), when I was finally able to schedule the walk in, I was told that I couldn't be serviced because the information that I entered on the website didn't match the information on my passport, which was a BLATANT AND BOLD FACE LIE because I inputted ALL of my info correctly, multiple times!
