If I could give zero stars, I would. My experience at this uBreakiFix location was a complete…read moredisaster from start to finish. The staff member who "helped" me (pictured here) was rude, dismissive, and arrogant from the moment I walked in. He acted like answering basic questions about my repair was a burden, rolled his eyes when I asked for details, and clearly had no deep knowledge of hardware repair. Their diagnostics were inconsistent and suspicious. When I dropped off my device, they said there was no water damage. Later, after they failed to fix it, they suddenly claimed there was water damage -- contradicting their own report. This is a common scam tactic to avoid taking responsibility for failed repairs. To make matters worse, they use cheap, non-OEM parts that aren't fully compatible with your device. After their so-called "repair," my MacBook had issues it never had before like poor touch response on the trackpad and keyboard keys being loose. When I pointed this out, the employee blamed me instead of acknowledging the poor workmanship. This place fails in every way that matters -- no professionalism, no accountability, no quality parts, and no real expertise. If you value your time, money, and devices, go to a reputable repair shop or an authorized service center. uBreakiFix in Oak Lawn is the last place you should trust.

This place does not even deserve 1 star!!!!!!!!! It belongs in the negative category. We called…read morefor repair work to be done on 2 computers in the office. When the tech showed up, she proceeded to eat her lunch at the desk, while working on a computer! I was quoted a price over the phone, and after her being there for 1 hour, I asked her for a detailed quote ( more than once) for the work being done. After 4 times of asking her, and her not responding to me... She was there for a little less than 2 hours, and when she finally handed me the invoice, the invoice just stated it was $60. She then took the paper, and added a $440 restoration fee, ( $220 per computer), and on top of that charged us another $130 for data backup ( which she previously never told me I was being charged for), and there was nothing but a few documents and pics to be saved.. nothing major, PLUS a $60 fee.. Handing us a grand total for 2 hours ( minus her lunch) $630!!!!!! When we called her " boss" to dispute the charge, being that we were NEVER quoted on these extra charges, The owner mentioned to me that he was a pastor of a nearby congregation, and would be informing his members, not to frequent our store. And if we didnt want to pay, for us to call the police, because he was not budging on his price, and was completely disrespectful over the phone to me. Needless to say, I was shocked, and beside myself. I will post negative comments about this company on every site I can find. How someone thinks they can have their unprofessional tech come into our office, eat their lunch at my desk, and expect to be paid $630 for 2 hours of " work" is astonishing to me.

I am the on-site tech that serviced this business. I am going to address each discrepancy that is…read morestated. Firstly, this client was never quoted a price over the phone. We can never quote a price over the phone due to we don't know the issues that are going on with the pc's. Secondly, when I showed up onsite I assessed all the issues and proceeded to address each issue. After which I had stated to the owner I had brought my lunch and it was ok to eat while data was being transferred. Thirdly, the client was never handed an invoice only stating $60 ($60 being our service fee) the client took an overview of the invoice laying on the desk. I restored 2 pc's and saved data from each pc. Our on-site fee is not by the hour; it's by the procedure. Our charge for factory restores is $240 per computer and data saving starts at $130, which totaled $670 with service fee. After detailing all work performed and prices I handed the client the invoice. The client was really upset at the price so I called my boss to see what we can do to bring the price down. My boss said I can charge them our in store fee which is $160 per machine but data would have to stay at $130 plus $60 service fee totaling $509. The client still wasn't satisfied. I stated to the client that if they weren't satisfied they or I could call the police and settle the bill that way. This client isn't giving the company I work for a negative review due to poor quality work they are basically upset at the price. Which is very fair when compared against many other computer repair service companies. Geek Squad being the most widely known computer repair service charges $299 per machine, $100 for data, plus service fee (service fee unknown). If you want to write a negative review; write something valid and not an exaggeration of what occurred. You are plainly unhappy of the price and not the work.
