I've only ever gotten the eggplant parm sub here, but it's delightful. No real room to sit down, just a counter with stools, but eating it in the car is just as tasty (I can never wait till I get home to tuck in). read more

Good stuff. Had the chicken jumbo and tia teri. Very good! maybe less cheese would be a bit healthier though!

Pizza isn't that great everything else is awesome! Can't all be home runs. I could eat the burritos and sandwiches everyday for the rest of my life. I would weigh 1,000 lbs, but it would have been worth it. read more

I grew up in the North Shore Area. We had Santoro's and Sub Villa. I have lived in Maine for over 50 years. And there is NOTHING that compare. My adult children grew up on what they call and Italian Sandwich. They Love them. They are good BUT just different. They are on a soft long hot dog type of roll, with Ham, American Cheese, Tomato's, Green Pepper, pickles, onions and black olives. But TC Lando's Italian Sub is almost a duplication of what I remember when I lived in Mass. My daughter lives in Acton, and when I visit a sub here is a must. I am shocked at some of the bad reviews. The grandkids like their Pizza which is also good. They have always been polite, Not warm and fuzzy but this is a takeout Sandwich Shop. Not a 5 star restaurant. They did give me a small when I had ordered a lg once, and I admit they were busy and I felt like the guy was only half listening. I will continue to visit as long as my Italian Sub continues to taste so good. read more

Only real issue is the lack of seating. Aside from that, great food (legit best cheese steaks in New England) and (mostly) nice service. Usually very quick too, which considering the staff size is pretty impressive. read more

I have been going to landos for years, the best subs you can get in Acton, all food large portions and so good, only issues no place to eat inside as it is so small, and trying to find parking on a Friday or Saturday night is impossible read more

Decent place. I only had one sub...the firecracker but the menu looked yummy.

I have eaten here for 10 years, great food, but the manager named Alex at the Acton location was a jerk for no reason. He confused us about the extra charges for sub toppings. When we got the receipt and tried to explain that we were confused and wanted a refund and no extra toppings he completely dismissed us. He said "you don't want to waste money on food, I don't want to waste my food" He thinks he can get away with treating customers poorly, clearly. Nothing can replace being rude and mean to a genuinely confused customer, not even good food. Why would I go back if the staff think I am dumb and they are above me? I wouldn't go back. read more

Food quality is excellent, portions are enormous, a small steak and cheese is more than enough unless you have a huge appetite. Delicious and efficient. I noticed some reviews suggested poor service, I don't get that, its a sub shop that is very busy at lunch because they provide excellent value and quality, it is not a fancy restaurant. I have never had any problem, in fact I prefer the quick and efficient service without the faux veneer of time-wasting politesse one gets from many servers at say a Chili's or 99. One caveat, I only order Steak and Cheese and its variants, no idea about the Pizza, but they have been in business for a long time. read more

I've been a customer of theirs for over 30 years and I'm not sure what happened here. Their subs used to be great. Maybe it's the economy but they changed their sub rolls. They used to be big and soft and fresh and now they're small, tough and rubbery. I'm hoping the other locations didn't change as well. read more

Great size subs for the price. Really good meatballs, substantially packed subs. Can't complain about anything here. Portions huge, prices right, convenient location, food was decent. Solid restaurant for subs and fries. read more

Work colleagues get subs here for lunch so when I was hungry for something different on a Friday I ventured out to find it. Parking is a little crazy but there were still available spots in the lot. I got a chicken buritto and a tossed salad, originally just wanted the buritto but a $10.00 min on credit had me order the salad as well. I took this back to my desk (very little seating there anyway) and ate 1/2 the buritto and 1/3 of the salad. I could have easily shared this meal and still been full. I now have another meal for later. Salad is very fresh, romaine lettuce, mushroom, cukes, tomatoe, carrots and radishes. Buritto was huge and very good but a little cold no worries I had a microwave. I will go back...the cheese steaks looked fabulous! read more

I have eaten at TC's in Acton many times. While the Leominster location is slightly better IMO, you'd be hard-pressed to find a better lunch in Acton. Here are few things to consider. Plan on getting it To Go. There is really no place to eat there. There are 4-5 stools and a 12"x8' counter to eat at there. This is in the roughly 8'x10' area in front of the register that is usually packed with people ordering, waiting for orders, or picking up orders. Go with steak, not chicken. The steak is amazing. Best outside of philly. The salads are not great. They are kind of pre-made. My buffalo chicken salad consisted of a salad, a container of buffalo chicken, and a pack of Ken's blue cheese. The pizza is always good. Anything with ham is great. There is something about their ham that is really good. Whether it's on Western cheese steak or a Hawaiian pizza, there is just something about the ham. They really need to make medium subs. Small subs are too small, large subs are too big. You can't just eat half a large either, you really want to eat 3/4 of it. Better yet would be a double medium, so you can save half for tomorrow. read more

This is a family-owned sandwich and pizza shop. The people were nice; there are allergy signs posted. You order and wait (a bit) in a rather small space. We got two wraps and a slice of pizza. The pizza slice was ENORMOUS. My 10-year-old pizza-eater was not wowed, but I thought it smelled terrific. The two wraps were excellent, and came with chips. Given the size of the portions, the prices were extremely reasonable. We were so happy to find TC Lando's and will definitely return! If you offered 4 1/2 stars, I would have given them that. read more

Very hectic day today. Decided to get subs for dinner. We ordered Three subs. One chicken and two steak subs. All the subs were good . The chicken sub was frozen chicken fingers deep fried with BBQ. sauce and melted cheese. My wife said it was OK but, very salty. the kids liked it. The steak subs had peppers, mushrooms, onions and cheese. The kids and I liked them. The product in the Acton store is no where as good as the rest of the locations they have. The Waltham location is by far the best and for some reason, the food is less expensive as well. We gave them two stars because of the staff. Honest to GOD, they were drunk. If not drunk, they were on some type of drugs. Over all, go to the Waltham location. read more

First off. LOVE the food, I live in Acton so whenever I visit my parents in western, ma they make me bring them Landos. 5 Stars for food. The only complaint I have is how rude the staff can be... Most of them are really nice, and trust me I can understand when your that busy sometimes you can't always be nice. But the girl that works there... Wow.. She is so mean, she's lucky the food is good because I would give 1 star if it were based of her service. read more

Our entire department is stuck in this tiny area for work for the week, and the only thing we looked forward to was TC Landos. I strongly recommend the "Mother of all Burritos". Excellent meals all around. read more

I don't understand the whining some previous reviewers have "shared" about TC Lando's. You think they're rude? Well, try walking in with a smile and treating the staff as you would want to be treated and I bet you'll be pleasantly surprised. I've NEVER known anything BUT friendly service and delicious food at TC Lando's for the past 30 years -- going back to when it had its location in Maynard (and BOY did we MISS it until it finally reopened in Acton). Great subs and the best pizza north of New York. And I always get a smile when I go there. Easy breezy. read more

I wish I still worked for Cisco two towns over when I used to visit this place for lunch. I do miss this place. The steak and cheese was out of this world I also loved the burrito, never tried the pizza just the subs and was the best. I am no more than 1.5 hrs away but do think about his place and miss it. read more

We drove all the way from the very far north shore - Saugus area - to grab subs here based on an internet search that revealed that they were open until 10 PM. We arrived probably close to 9:25 PM. Upon entering, the staff was cleaning up and told us they were closing and we could only order cold subs if anything at all. Cold subs! No thanks! I guess the confusion and disappointment was written all over my face. I told them that according to Google, they list the restaurant open until 10 PM and perhaps someone should look into changing that. The tidbit of info seemed to be news to the woman behind the counter. She said she would let the owner know. She never once just admitted that yes they are open until 10 PM - she acted like it was a big surprise. I also said that we traveled like across Massachusetts to get here. She did seem to feel bad, maybe because she knew that she was pulling our legs. She did go out of her way to offer us two coupons for the next visit. That was very nice, but now we are in the middle of nowhere where the sidewalks roll up at well, 9:30 PM ish. A few months later, we came back with our coupons and I took note this time of the times on the front window which read 10 PM. I absolutely now know what happened that night. The woman and her crew wanted out early which is ok. At least be honest about it. read more

I was working in the area and stubbled across this place after my visit at dunkins...I couldn't believe the over sized menu to read. the Women behind the counter was very attentive and helpful on the most popular items.after naming off a few she said what's popular I decided to go with the BUDSTUDER....it was the best combo sub I've had..size,favor and fulfillment.def. be back again !!!!! read more

This place has some of the best cheese steaks outside of Philly. We've always been really thrilled with their food. Good appetizers, even good burritos (it's a sub shop) and stilettos. HOWEVER... if you order a BLT, make sure they get the tomatoes in it. Haha. That's what happened today; ended up with a BL. When I called them about it, I got "sorry about that. I'll yell at the guy." So I ended up going to the grocery, getting a tomato and slicing it up for my wife's hoagie. 17 years of food service experience finally paid off. lol read more

Best pizza north of Brooklyn, very friendly folk, great subs, and more. This is take out only, and the best bet is to call ahead and have it waiting for you. But you want to eat it hot, this is the real deal. read more

I have lived in Acton for 12 years, and every time I went to Lando's I was treated like I was bothering the people that waited on me. rude behavior, no one was polite to me (Hey, I'm giving you MY MONEY, the least you can do is say thank you!). A few years ago I finally stopped going; I didn't want to give anyone with an attitude my business when there are so many other places that look forward to my business. I've felt good about my decision ever since. I will be honest and say the food is good there, but it's good in other restaurants as well. I'll vote with my feet. read more

I grew up and Acton and moved to Ca. I have searched for a place half as good as T.C. Lando's in most parts of Ca. and it's not available. I started going when they were in Maynard and was thrilled when they appeared in Acton. The food/money is excellent! This is a "Take-out" sub shop; plain and simple, with the Best Subs around. I wouldn't expect them to hold my hand while I tell them my life story. They prepare my food, Thank me and send me on my way, a lot happier with my Steak and x-tra Cheese sub. read more

It's always so interesting to read these reviews. Yes, it is takeout, so it obviously makes sense to call ahead (uhmmmm.....Takeout?) Sorry to those of you who find it above their ability to recognise take-out after several months of living here in Acton, and also unable to step out of the way of Pizza boxes being whacked into your head. But you, wise intellectual from out-of-town, living in a colonial back-water such as Acton, probably never had to deal with take-aways and also dodging hefty pizza boxes hurling towards your head. So sorry that this caused you to drop a half-star from your rating. These newly-riche and pretentious people moving into our town never, ever cease to give us endless mirth. Thank you! read more

Their burritos are really tasty, but massive in size and really deep. Not much to say about the place, although I've heard that their pizzas are good. read more

Had the mis-steak. Great cheese steak sandwich. Was only in town for business and the locals recommended this place hands down for lunch. I was impressed with the quality and flavor of the meat. Next time back, I'm going Kama-kazi. Thanks guyz. read more

I should have known by how rudely the phone was answered when calling in my order that picking it up would be worse. Come to find out, the owner is the one answering the phones and running the register!! I was told 20 minutes for my sub to be prepared, when I arrived 45 minutes later they were just starting to cook it. I waited 20 minutes and ended up with a $100. parking ticket due to ridiculous wait time. The sub was soggy, overpriced and definitely not worth my time or money. Never again will I spend my lunch break at that establishment. read more

Their customer service is awful, as if you are wasting their time, and they dont deliver unless its over fifty dollars!! One time i called and started to give my order for a delivery and as i finished telling them about the first sub I wanted they said with a rude tone "I can tell by the way you sound that this isnt a big order" read more

Great tasting food, but in the past few years the sandwiches have contained less and less meat while the prices have skyrocketed.

Like some other reviewers, I experienced a very rude employee taking orders over the phone. We ordered 3 items and had an issue with all of them. I thought about calling back but definitely didn't want to deal with the woman answering the phone again. Chalk it up to experience. There is no reason to go back. read more

TC Landos used to be one of my favorite sub places all around, key word used to. Over the years the food quality has gone down and the service has gotten miserable. I recently learned there "famous" steak and cheese subs are steak that they already have cooked up and stored beside the grill that they simple heat up. That is not even the biggest issue the lady that answers the phone sometimes when you call in is arguably one of the rudest food service associates I have ever experienced. She always has a big attitude and is extremely rude in person and over the phone. read more

The WORST customer service!! orders are always wrong. Unbelievably inconsistent. Pizza slices are NEVER heated properly. Very high minimum for card use. Plenty of other places to go locally. I highly recommend bringing your business elsewhere. read more

They have gone down hill. I used to go there all the time about 10 years ago when I was living in the area. Now I go once or twice a year when I am in the area. The Terriyaki Cheese Steak is what I always order. It used to be so flavorful. The past couple of times it just tasted like a regular Cheese Steak. As Always, the people working there are not very good at being pleasant. I understand they are busy people but my God the attitude I get for giving them MY money makes me feel like I've done something wrong. ...? didnt order quick enough..? etc. Life is too short, work sucks across the board. SMILE! I have read the other comments and it seems to be a common theme with these workers... Is it like a game to be such mean miserable people to them? read more

Been wanting to check this place out and finally did tonite. Was hoping for an amazing cheese steak sub. . . but I got a huge mediocre sub. I ordered the special which was supposed to have beef, sausage, peppers, onions, mushrooms and cheese. I found no mushrooms at all, which was very disappointing cause I love mushrooms. Then the meat, was not shaved, but sort of ground up. I also ordered the onion rings. .. really a disappointment. Had a bad flavor, maybe old oil. I tried this on a coupon deal. I won't be back. It is weird, I would think that places would want to impress people who have groupons or some other deal so they will come back. Oh and the service, I agree with other reviewers. everyone there was just plain RUDE! read more

This was our second time to TC Lando's. We live in Southern California and found this place to get a quick bite to eat in February 2017. The steak combo sandwiches are the best. The small is enough for two meals. There is limited seat, so we ate in the parking lot. read more

I am very torn about this place. The subs are so so good. They have a vast array of different kinds. I love the chicken cutlet and my boyfriend dies for the "cherry bomb". They are generous portions and are ready quickly HOWEVER Some of the staff are just completely rude. The woman that works there literally acts as if it's the last hour of a 13 hour shift and she's miserable and has I huge attitude every time I'm there. One time I called and asked if they do delivery, she mumbled something in unrecognizable and then hung up on me. I was so put off and stunned that I drove there and ordered in person. It's tough because some of the staff are nice but the rudeness leaves a bad taste in my mouth. read more

I have only tried the various cheese steaks on their menu. They get a lot of hype and this may be due to their size. They are huge and relatively cheap. The type of meat they use can be fatty and gray as they keep the cooked meat in a steam drawer. Overall they do taste good and you can't complain about the portions. As to the service...well I have ordered there three times and they have yet to get my order right. The counter person (same one all three times) is curt on the phone (I'm being generous here) and not very understanding when trying to straighten out the order upon pickup (abrasive and indignant might be more descriptive). There is no seating and really no delivery for smaller orders so it is really a pick up only place. Overall I give the food (cheese steaks mainly) a 3 and service 1, for a 2 average. read more

Been meaning to write this for a while. This place used to be good -- maybe even great. Wonderful steak & cheese subs, wonderful pastrami & nice atmosphere. Then workers started getting rude and behaving so imposed upon. The sandwiches starting going down hill -- way too greasy and the prices went up. Then twice within about a 6-7 month period I got sick from their pastrami subs. When I say sick -- I mean nausea, vomiting & running to bathroom for hours. So, to recap: rude employees & sub-par, overpriced food. Yeah, I'll pass. read more
