Excellent tasting room with great service. If you are not heading to Porto then this is a must stop for a taste and education on port wine. We really enjoyed ourselves and found several that were our favorites. Generous pours so go for the flights. Well worth the price. Located across from the cruise port and just a few blocks from Commerce Square. It may get busy when cruise passengers are getting off but we stopped in around lunch time and we were served immediately and had the place to ourselves. They also have a few bites that compliment the wines if interested.

When in Portugal, one must try Port! Just a few steps from the cruise ship docks, a short walk from the main tourist drag, and close to the waterfront, best tasting room is extremely easy access to anyone else wanting a port experience. We walked in during a rainy afternoon and found a seat immediately at one of the 5 tables in the front room. Yes, it's small. Their menu is online, but as expected, it had tastings and by the glass options, as well as a few nibbles. We went with the tasting and a few treats. The staff member gave us a brief history of their brand and the ports and we dove in. Overall, a fun time and a great experience. Minus one star because they didn't have the one we liked best for sale. If you are in the area and want to do a port tasting, you can't go wrong with a visit to Taylor's! (PS - it's about €40 for the flight).

Line up for the introduction to port tasting.

We have always enjoyed a good port and have had Taylor's ports in the states. It was treat to taste it so close to where it is produced. The "Introductory" tasting was just fabulous. We had 5 ports ranging from a sherry style to the traditional tawny to two different reserve vintages. WOW. Just a reminder of how complex and wonderful a good port is.

Stopped by over an hour prior to purported close, but they were locked up already. Pathetic.

Inside the discreet store front, lies one of the most amazing Portuguese wine collections in the city, where you can sample over 40 types straight from the refillable card operated wine vending machines installed in Mundo's two large but cozy rooms - a perfect place to try a lot of incredible wines. Get your card, top it up and get ready to indulge in an extensive selection of wines that includes some of the country's finest, and some from beyond its borders. The novelty of the machines alone makes for a great Instagram post, but it's Mundo's ambiance, the super friendly staff, and its carefully curated wine selection, that makes this a must while in the city. In between sips, have a go at their great selection of cheeses, and for unique and fun time with a small group of friends, book a wine tasting and get your very own sommelier to tell you about Portugal, its wine regions and rich history. I highly recommend the Port wine experience. When in Lisbon, take a break from the city's crowded tourist spots and stroll down to 'world of wine', you'll be glad you did.

Interesting Cram Course In Lisbon's Jewish History…read more... With 3 full days to explore Lisbon, we started with a 3 1/2 hour tour on the first afternoon focusing on the Jewish history of the city. Here are the pros and cons: Pros: - We met our guide, Daniel, in the Principe Real section of Lisbon and walked a couple miles toward the Baixa and Chiado neighborhoods. He was more knowledgeable than an encyclopedia...as personable as an entertainer and tied lots of historical loose ends together. - Daniel included many of his own personal views which, depending on your outlook, could add or subtract from the experience. For us, it cut both ways. - All in all, a comprehensive and, at times, intense yet enjoyable 3 1/2 hour walking tour with insight into the Jewish past of Lisbon and Europe at large. - Price seemed reasonable.....100 Euros per person. Cons: - As noted above, Daniel included many of his own personal views which, depending on your outlook, could add or subtract from the experience. For us, it cut both ways. - There was quite a bit of walking up and down hills on cobblestone streets, but it's Lisbon, of course...so that's something to keep in mind. We'd recommend this tour, but first see if the primary guide, Paulo, is available.

After spending the better part of the day with him, we had a dramatically better understanding of the Jewish people's contributions to Portuguese (and Spanish) society over the past 700 years, as well as what life has been like for Jews living on the Iberian Peninsula from the 15th Century through the present. Paolo went above and beyond what we expected, and was also delightful to spend time with. We ended our time with him feeling as though we had spent the day with a great teacher and a friend.
