Yes there is construction leading up to the building but that's not a permanent thing. The parking lot is well lit so I feel safe going to events at night. The building is a secure building so strangers just can't wonder in off the street and cause any disturbances which makes me feel even better. It's a great space, it's always clean and well decorated. The owner has always maintained good communication with me and has even assisted with locating hotels since I come from out of town. The first time I met her she welcomed me with a smile and I get that same smile every time. Her staff has always been friendly and made me feel welcome. If I were local I would definitely have events here. It's a great environment for all ages. You can basically turn the space into whatever atmosphere you want from kid parties, to teens, to adults.
