Melinda from the beginning gave me good advice along the way as she drives a similar Tuscon I purchased--talk about great credibility! In the end, it also didn't hurt that Melinda set me up with a sweet incentive (55" 4K Smart Television), which was nice consideration in today's competitive environment. She went above and beyond to set herself apart and showed me appreciation on becoming a new customer. I truly felt valued and appreciated. The entire team made me feel important and that's the difference. That's my experience. The only reason I didn't give a full five stars is that the closing process changed at the last minute but it all worked out. It perhaps could have been communicated a little better up front but it all worked out perhaps for the better--just a little concerned in the beginning. Nevertheless, Melinda and the finance manager reassured me, were patient, understanding, and pleasant to work with. We were told repeatedly by James that there were multiple cars ahead of ours and so we were at their mercy as to when the car would be looked at. We called every other day inquiring on the status of our vehicle, most calls went to voicemail and if our call was answered, we were promised a call back, which never happened! The last call we made we were informed the car was fixed, they didn't even have the courtesy to place the call themselves to inform us of its completion! Taylor Hyundai of Perrysburg refused to look at my car when it broke down 10 miles from their location. While driving from New Jersey to Illinois during a move, my 2022 Tucson broke down in Toledo. I bought this car new in 2022 and it only had 40,000 miles. There were no symptoms or warning signs the first 500 miles of the trip. Suddenly, it died, would not start and needed to be towed. I called Taylor Hyundai of Perrysburg to see if I could tow it there to be diagnosed. I was told they were booked for the next 2-3 weeks and could POSSIBLY look at it 10 days later. I explained that I was 300 miles from Chicago and could not wait in a hotel that long to figure out what was wrong. I asked if something could be done sooner and the service advisor told me, "I can't move you ahead in line just because you're from out of town." I ended up having it transported all the way to my new local Hyundai dealer for $800. They looked at it promptly and determined a fuel injector went bad. Since this was a known service issue, they replaced all 4 injectors for free under warranty. Taylor Hyundai of Perrysburg completely failed me, an existing customer who was stranded far from home due to a known mechanical issue, not simple wear and tear. I bought my Sonata from Taylor Hyundai in 2019 and always took it to this Perrysburg facility for all maintenance and never had an issue. Something has definitely changed in the past year. When you call the body shop no one answers, or returns calls, and when you ask the Service Manager about it you are told" Well, they don't answer for me either." Like no big deal. Just drive your car downtown, Toledo instead. REALLY!! Then I took my car in for brake pads and was quoted a price previously by the Service Manager. The price he quoted was not matching what the scheduler quoted, but anyway, I took my car in. When I pulled in and registered my car I discussed with this same Service Manager that I was approved for the Sunbit credit that lets you pay over a few months. I made it clear that this was great, especially being retired and the cost of repairs, etc. He acknowledged. So, when I went to pay, I asked why the cost was more than the quote. He explained labor, parts etc. and the web page price was only the labor. So, he asked credit or debit. When I handed him my debit he put papers in front of me to sign, and flipping through things. Then he tapped my debit card and never asked much I'd be paying and how. He did not confirm or ask if I was going to use the Sunbit credit. Obviously, he does not pay attention to his customers or make notes. So he overcharged my account, and then recharged the correct amount that overdrew my checking account. The finance lady put in a return merchandise credit but who knows how long that would take. I will never take my car there again. read more

On June 14, 2024 (yes 7 months) I had to have it towed to another shop. I was charged $5400 to have my car return in worse condition than it was given to them. I took it to the dealer because I thought they would be more knowledgeable. I could not have been more wrong. So I was without my vehicle for over 7 months with a $5,400 bill. Since I have had my Genesis serviced - that included tire rotation - the TPMS light comes on frequently. This has never happened on any previous tire rotation prior to my service at this dealership last month. I stopped by Friday, 7/8/22, at 5:30 PM since we were close by the dealership. Service writer said no service tech was available since it was 5:30 (they close at 6 PM). He stated they do not take drive ins on Saturday, and they are closed on Sunday. He said to come back on Monday. Evidently, there was no one to check the air pressure. I stopped in the dealership a few days ago thinking about purchasing a used vehicle. I knew my Credit score was low prior to going in. I also know the vehicle I currently have has high mileage considering its age. The salesman along with the loan manager told me they could still get me a loan but wouldn't be interested in taking my vehicle in on trade. The loan manager told me to accept their loan because I deserve a better vehicle. I asked what was I supposed to do about my current vehicle. He said quit making payments and call the place I have it financed and tell them I can't afford the car. He said they will eventually take the car back and sell it at an auction. Then what ever is still owed on the car will be my responsibility. He stated don't pay it because they will charge it off eventually. I asked how long does that take? He replied 7 years. In the mean I will be getting calls and letters in the mail from them wanting there money and possibly getting sued for the remainder of the money owed. What kind of dealership would suggest this? If I could put zero I would. My granddaughter bought a used car from the salesman who assured them that even though it had high miles, it was a hybrid and had a a great service record (carfax?) . What he didn't mention from that report is the 2 accidents it was involved in. A week after she bought it ,for over $10,000 in cash, the check engine light came on and she took it to the service department where she bought it. They said it was fine. Less than 2 months later, it stopped running. Despite calls from her mom to ask what was wrong with the car, it took almost 3 weeks to get answer. He said she needed a new transmission. A cost of over $4200.00 or they would give her $600.00 as a trade in if she bought another one. She was very proud of saving her money and used it all buying that car. I called the Service manager A.J. and he said as is, so too bad, and they would not even work on making it right or even giving her a break on the repair cost. When I brought up the salesman not telling them about the accidents, he said those type of accidents don't cause damage to the transmission. So, it seems to me, from that statement, he knew about the accidents before they sold the car. I spoke with their attorney Mr. Demecs who said he would speak to those involved and at least try and to get a break on the repair cost. when I called back the following Wednesday, ( the day we agreed I should call back) he said the service department had not returned his request for information. I called again the next day, no answer. So I finally left a message on Mr. Taylors voicemail that Mr. Demecs had not returned my call and I was angry. I get a call back from Mr. Demecs telling me Mr. Taylor told him the same "bought as is" and they would do nothing to help. My granddaughter worked for door Dash and had already been out of work for 3 weeks at this point. They didn't care. She had it towed somewhere else to be repaired and they cannot even get it to start. I have read other peoples stories about the same dealership. BUYER BEWARE!! Apparently, this generation of owner does not seem to stand behind their cars as the Taylor Buick dealership I grew up with as a kid. My complaint is with the finance department. We had excellent Fico scores. Frank set us up with a loan for "6.4%." I expected to get the Genesis 2.9% loan, but on the third "more loan info" web page in small print it stated not valid with other offers. I asked if Frank the finance guy checked for all of his bank sources to get the cheapest loan and he assured me that he had, but that we could refinance. My bank quickly offered 3.24%. bankrate.com showed an AVERAGE APR of 4.19%. I suggest you BE PREPARED WITH AN APPROVED LOAN PRIOR TO GOING TO TAYLOR HYUNDAI/GENESIS. Our experience was generally positive. Since this will be a 3 year lease, we should not have the problems with misleading info from the service department that we have had in the past. Taylor will provide free synthetic oil changes for the turbo engine vehicle for three years and tire rotations which will save a lot of expense. The sales person was inexperienced and it took four hours total because the finance manager was busy but he was very helpful. The car is getting 38 mpg overall, more than the estimates. Melinda called me back and asked if I wanted to set an appointment to see the car. The day I was able to make it in was actually her day off. Melinda came in on her day off to help me. She was very honest and straight forward. If there was something about the car she didn't know, she was honest about it, and found out the information for me. I would definitely recommend Melinda as your salesperson at Taylor Hyundai. The only thing I did not like about the whole experience was how the finance manager sent some guy out to talk to me to try to talk me into offering more after I gave my final offer on the car. At that point it was either yes or no. This guy came out acting as if we were long lost friends like he was going to be able to change my mind to pay more. I don't mind negotiating. I actually like it. But, final offer means final offer. Overall, Melinda was excellent. They accepted my final offer and I walked out with the car.
