This place makes me want to start drinking coffee. But their hot chocolate was amazing, as we're their paninis and beesting. Just yum. Staff were just so friendly and laid back. They took great care in making our drinks - getting truly absorbed in their art. It was a pleasure to watch. Particularly in this age of take a number service it was a refreshing experience to stay engaged with our barista while he created our mugs of awesome.

Taylor Blend provides my favourite coffee in Adelaide. This is not a bias opinion either, my first experience was when my friend convinced me to drive up and meet her. Wasn't I pleasantly surprised when I sipped my latte! Although it is situated slightly out of the way it is definitely worth the drive. There is little traffic and a park across the road, making the setting very relaxing. During the winter months baseball games are often played at the park, so if you're a baseball fan head up and sip on a coffee while you watch them play. Taylor Blend does not supply a large range of food. However, the foccaccias and many of the sweets are delicious. They even have macaroons! I have never been the only patron present at the coffee shop, but if you plan going there early on a Saturday or a Sunday morning be prepared to wait. The small shop is packed and you may have to wait for or share a table with the friendly customers.

Outdoor area but overlooks a busy road so not as ideallic as other photos indicated

In this part of Adelaide there is nothing else. Despite it being next to a park and in a bush area it's a shame it overlooks a busy road and has no plants etc on the balcony. The sign at reception proudly boasts cash only as its faster. The trouble is that is the mantra of this place. Unlike the new trend, there are no fresh squeezed juices and no breakfast or brunch menu even on weekends. In fairness they are only a coffee and cake place (but so are many places on Magill road yet they do more). The coffees are produced far quicker than I've seen elsewhere and both my 'flat whites' we're boiling hot and watery, one at least looked like a flat white with the brown crema but was produced too fast and was killed by being too watery and hot, the other was white and milky. If you're just going to have coffees they had better be good, but they're not! They had a huge queue but so does the service station coffee guy so go figure! The cake selection was good. The only food you can get is premade croissant with ham, rolls and Turkish bread etc. which you can have toasted. We had all of the above and they were quite ordinary. This place is busy as it has a captive market but it's run more like a tourist roadside stop. Definitely not cool or foodie. If you're in the area and just want a cake and a cappuccino or hot chocolate or one of those coffees with cream and chocolate then it's fine!

Delicious cakes - fluffy and moist. Best hot chocolate I've had in ages. Fast and friendly service.

It's advertised as a cooking school, cafe and "stuff" venue, and is starting slowly with openings just Mon - Friday until 4pm, but they have events coming up, and have various cooking opportunites, including classes for kids - so keep up to date on https://www.facebook.com/FiveLittleFigs. The breakfasts that were served looked generous and delicious, and they have gluten, wheat and vegan food on offer and it looks fresh and sumptuous...next time! They cater to children, so if you're worried about young people playing (and crying) - don't come! I see this as a refuge for parents who want to meet their friends while their kids can draw on the chalk board or have something to eat at their own table. Support a new local, or pop out of your way for a quirky, delicious cafe.

We asked for a menu and sat down and noticed the menu was pretty much a standard breakfast menu minus the healthier or more foodie special options befitting a gourmet cooking school. So I went up to order and after we ordered I noticed there was a specials board (which you wouldn't necessarily expect to see for breakfast) which was hidden from view from the dining area. Luckily it had one green Juice and two healthier more interesting breakfast options so we changed our order. It's surprising they didn't direct us to the menu board when we were given the menu. The green juice was excellent, and so was the mushrooms on toast. The creamed oats were not too creamy, just right. The coffee was terrible, the worst I have seen for a while. A 'flat white' is normally not literally white! The 'crema' on the top was white with not a tinge of brown and it tasted over milky as well.

Busy during lunch periods and weekends with the locals, you will need to get here early to get a good spot. The café is not that big, so be sure to take that into consideration depending on the time of the day. All of the tables are lined with butchers paper and crayons are on offer for the kids to draw, while parents enjoy some well earned recharge time. I love that the café collects fun drawings and pops them up on the wall to display! I can imagine that children would love to see their pieces of art on the wall when they return. If you need coffee, you will fine strong and flavoursome beans here. Just what I love! I like a well rounded coffee that picks me up with a kick of caffeine. That is why I always order a strong flat white. And that is exactly what I received. Perfect! After a long morning, coffee always goes well with a treat. Oh yeah, bring on the Dutch Style Brownie. A little drier than most brownies; But I think that is the style. Nice chocolate flavour and really hit the spot. I am told that the brekkie and lunch here are also really good. So I endeavour to return to try that as well. Last thing to point out, the staff are really lovely. Be sure to know that you and your guests will be well looked after.

The new kid on the block is definitely worth a stop. With their 'nothing is too much trouble…read moreattitude', interesting and delicious menu and excellent coffee, the owners are on a winner. They have an all day breakfast, lunch and snacks menu which ranges from a few dollars to around $13 for the bigger meals. Vegetarian & gluten free options available, and they'll happily mix and match if the selection doesn't quite fit your bill. They're currently only closed Monday and open 8-4 Tuesday - Saturday; 9-4 Sunday. It's tiny (maybe 5 tables) with a few spots outside, but well worth putting on your coffee route. Masses of parking around the back, but slow down coming up Magill Road or you'll miss it. Keep an eye out for their big yellow sign and a couple of yellow chairs out the front.

Needless to say it has haunted my dreams since, so today after a hard workout my husband and I biked over for lunch. The first thing that strikes you while approaching from Kitchener Street is the lush, inviting covered wrap around porch; there is plentiful and adequately spaced tables located here (so as not to be forced to overhear unwanted convos). Next, upon entering this clean and tidy cottage you will notice three separate distinct seating areas: the main dining area, a smaller dining area tucked away by the kitchen and pastry counter, and a delightful and welcoming covered deck. We were promptly greeted by one of the friendly staff and seated straight away. Tap water, glasses, and menus were waiting at the table and after an appropriate amount of time our order was taken and special requests confirmed. This place is really busy but it seems well managed; the staff is very attentive without being intrusive. As we waited for our order we noticed the bustling and efficient staff who worked like a well oiled machine - dirty dishes were quickly removed from tables, additional carafes of tap water were dropped off without being asked for, and patrons seemed relaxed, very happy, and satisfied. By meals' end we, too, were among those happy people. My husband ordered a sandwich that I struggle to recall the name ;( it was a hearty sandwich made from perfectly toasted sourdough, grilled chicken breast meat, swiss cheese, garlic aioli, a mix of tender and flavourful greens, and crispy bacon. I ordered the smashed avocado with feta on the same delightfully prepared sourdough. It, too, came with a generous portion of greens. We could not be happier with our newfound neighbourhood brekkie place. AND there is a coffee loyalty card to boot!
