Staff were a bit vague and distracted but they did let us wait a few minutes for what we wanted to come out of the oven rather than just say it wasn't available. Free sauce on the plate and clean cutlery and plates. No complaints. My chili cransky was fresh and the pastry was nice and fluffy. Dulwich bakery are a chain and we often get their cakes for work. Used to be quite overgrown and dirty. The bakery products are nice and a large range including lots of sweet pastries. There is also a sandwich bar area so the range is good. The coffee is ok and the staff good. The staff advised me when I asked, they have no training in coffee making so could be better. I would say it's the location that keeps it going - quiet end of The Parade but easy parking and convenient for quick stop. Beware Sunday's as it's very busy and hard to find parks due to a church next door.

Fluffy, crusty sourdough. Yup, I am always on the lookout for a good sourdough. I have tried to…read moremany to count from all around Adelaide. I was excited to see this bakery pop up on Magill Road in the last month. They have really decked out this shop in comparison to before with subway tiles and modern interior. It's not heaps flash, but looks a heck of a lot better amongst the other shops. They offer a whole range of different pastries, lots of donuts and danishes. They also have a sandwich bar and a lot of different pies & pasties. My rule with testing out a bakery is to try their sausage rolls and sourdough. If they get that right, they are good. The sausage roll was $4.40, which is pretty expensive. But, it is really big. The pasty is quite thick, but a little flaky. The meat inside is well seasoned, but I feel like they have mixed a little too much breadcrumbs through. So, it was a little doughy. It was a good sausage roll, and I will try another one. As for the sourdough, it is really fluffy and crusty! Really yummy! But, it is not that sour, which was a little disappointing. Most sourdoughs are a little more dense then this one. However, it's nice to try different versions and I will probably buy it again. It was $7 a loaf though, which is pretty costly for bread. So, I expect a lot when I pay that much. Overall, a good bakery for the neighbourhood. I will keep trying baked goods here and update my review as I go.

Also the cream in the cream cakes is not synthetic!! (Yay!) I can totally understand why they have ranked SA's #1 donut for the last 18 months! Would recommend above other reviews haha

Duffy's Bakery was always a favouite and it is still really good. The shop is a bit smaller than it used to be, but the contents are just as good with everything a growing boy needs.....unfortunately lately I have found that I am growing horizontally rather than vertically. I am a particular fan of their Sausage Rolls and Pizza Pies, but the Potato Pie satisfys many a taste bud also. They have a decent selection of deserts if you blood sugar level is of no concern, I was always a custard and apple tart man myself....Love the crumbly bits!

It's not a particularly big store, but it is chock full of delicious bakery items. It has all the usual suspects (sausage rolls, pasties and a huge range of pies) and also stocks every type of biscuit, cake and bun you could imagine. I love the apricot slice and my son's a fan of the snowballs (jelly cake, rolled in coconut and filled with cream) - special occasions only, of course. I also loved the display of edible meringue people. They've started making the Christmas ones already. It's a little pricier than some of the franchise bakeries, but I like to think I'm buying quality and supporting an independent when I shop here. The staff are friendly and seem to manage to serve people in order, even when there are a dozen or so people squeezed in. If you're not doing a mad lunch-on-the-run, there are a couple of casual tables and chairs strewn out the front where you can savour your baked goods.

Bakers should b worn out by 11.30am? I've "only" had their pistachio creation, raspberry cheesecake and coffee chocolate mousse tarts, so I can't comment on their savory range, however there's plenty to choose from either side of the hot/cool cabinets. The variety is vast, and they seem the perfect solution for individual dessert selection after dinner - or as a mixed plate with friends for a tea or coffee.
