They are unprofessional, unreliable, and as it turns out they are operating illegally. I called this company with an important errand to run and expressed its importance to the worker on the phone. He said they would be there in 20 minutes. They never showed. I called to check on the status and was told they were right around the corner and they still did not show. I called four times after with no answer. On the fourth time I called back there was no answer so I left a direct voicemail expressing how unprofessional they were and that I would be writing a negative review. I also expressed that I worked in the town and would spread the word to the coworkers in the area. They called back immediately at which point I didn't care to talk to them as the place I needed to go to was closing. The following day I contacted a new company to run the same errand. I told them what had happened to me with Tik Tak and the woman informed me that they are operating illegally. They have been shut down for shady, unsafe work. They continue to drive people, though, because apparently that doesn't phase them. DO NOT use this company. read more

If I could give zero stars I would; my best friend's experience (or lack thereof) with this company literally ruined her life. She was scheduled to take the SAT this morning, and the taxi from Taxi Express was supposed to pick her up at a certain time. They never showed, never called, and never answered the phone. So, my friend couldn't take the SATs and now she can't go to her dream school because she will miss the deadline. So, if you want your future ruined, please use this company!!! read more

I had an out of town business visitor last week who used Taxi Express to get from Amherst to Northampton. He reported to me that: "It was a strange experience. The police stopped us about the taxi not being registered, and it turned out the driver had been stopped numerous times before. The police threatened to tow the taxi if it happened again. The meter showed 40 but I suspect it was too high." I checked Taxi Express's website, and it quotes a trip from Amherst to Northampton at $20. I tried calling them and got a voice mailbox indicating that I had reached an entirely different number. Also, all their Google reviews are disturbingly similar. I will tell my future visitors to avoid using this company. read more

My wife and I visited the Boston Nutrition Obesity Research Center in November. Taxi Express was easy to find, kept appointments, had friendly drivers, and clean cabs! Having traveled to the Boston area at least 20 times over the past ten years, this is the first time that I can say that I would actually prefer a specific cab company! read more

This Is a response to K.C's review from the taxi owner. Like i told the lady from the CAIA who reimbursed your money, which you failed to mention on your review. Which we also as a company send back the difference from the fair even though the meter was correct. The town of Amherst changed the fair system from a flat rate to a meter system starting January 01 2012. Which will answer your question to why on the website it had a flat rate and there was a meter in the taxi. And the website is being update to show the meter rating Our meters are inspected by the Amherst police to make sure that they are accurate, and work properly. Therefore we are not in the business of ripping people off and we will never. As far as that driver, when you we hire a driver before they are granted a taxi license, they are put through a full background check by the Amherst police. So having a good or bad driver is just luck. But on our side we put them through all the screening to make sure that they are responsible. And we hold them accountable to their actions. That driver had a very good cover up about all the bad things he did on the road and in the company. We are fully responsible for his action, but not all my drivers are like that. You see bad people everywhere go, and good people also. Upon receiving that email from CAIA about the whole incident, and reports about him being stopped multiple times, I personally fired him immediatly, he is no longer working for my company. As far as the police officer threaning to tow the vehicle why didnt he, If the car does not have no registration he should have tow it. And how do you get a license place without registering the car. The RMV gives you a plate after you pay the registration fee. Therefore the police officer was not telling the truth and i can prove it. He should towed it and call you another taxi for your friend. And that would be a good lesson for my driver for doing bad things. Because there was no ground for towing the vehicle that is why he did not tow it trust me they don't give us any break or cut us any slack we go back the rules, and we follow them to the T, that is why i am confident about my statement. My taxis are properly registered insured and inspected. I respect your opinion and i apologize for your bad experience with my driver. But please not that ignore the fact that my company take these incident very seriously and we are doing the maximum to make sure that this does not happen again. As far as my review on google these are customers that were satisfied with my service, so i don't think it is fair for you to discredit them like that. We ordered a taxi for 5:15 in the morning to take us to the Springfield train station. The taxi never materialized. Phone calls were not answered. At around 8:00 am our driver texted us that he, unfortunately, had fallen asleep. We were offered a 50% discount for the return trip from Springfield. This taxi service was THE BEST!!!! (My only complaint is that they do not operate in Philadelphia , where I actually live!) I required timely transportation between the Amherst Amtrak station and a hotel in Northampton. They werethere when train arrived, and ready to pick me up when I was reading to return to the train. The have clean, comfortable van. Their website is excellent and they responded promptly to all my communications. In fact, I had to change my pick-up site a number of times. Each time I sent an email, they responded promptly, affirming my latest arrangement. I could not recommend Taxi Express more highly! read more

EXPENSIVE! The service itself was OK (although the driver got 4 phone calls during my 8 minute ride) and the car was quite dirty. We drove 2.3 miles with no traffic and my fare was $18. It was over $2 a minute in the car. Would certainly not recommend if you are going any sort of distance. read more

Atrocious. Called for a cab and was told that it would be there to pick us up in 15-20 minutes. 40 minutes later, cab was nowhere to be found so after calling the number multiple times and listening to it go directly to voicemail, someone finally answered and told me that a cab had just been dispatched to us and would be there soon. Half an hour later, well over an hour after I had intitially called, the cab still had not shown up, and we ended up taking a bus instead of waiting in the cold for the damn cab that clearly was never going to show up. I was in town desperate for a ride and the taxi from Taxi Express came in 5 minutes. After a $15 ride I noticed I brought the wrong credit card with me, and without paying my driver he said it was free of charge. Great service and a very nice employee! read more
