Avoid Tax Resolution Plus at all costs. Over a year ago, we paid them $4,500 to handle an Offer in Compromise (OIC) for my father. Since then, they have failed to deliver even the most basic level of service. Every form submitted to the IRS has been rejected--either due to being filled out incorrectly or because they attempted to electronically submit outdated W-2s, which is not accepted. Rather than taking responsibility, they've repeatedly blamed the delays on my deceased mother, claiming that her Social Security number is now somehow incorrect in the IRS system--despite 30 years of accurate filings. This excuse is both outrageous and disrespectful. Due to their continued incompetence, my father's tax situation has only gotten worse. Interest and penalties have ballooned. We've now had to hire a local tax professional to fix the mess they created. We are in the process of filing formal complaints with the IRS, as well as the appropriate oversight boards in South Carolina and California, for services not rendered. We are also consulting with consumer protection attorneys to explore legal options. Please do your due diligence. Many of their Google, BBB, and Facebook reviews appear to be fake or manipulated. BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY!!!!! I hate to share bad news but I want everyone to know that I am currently pursuing legal action against Tax Resolution Plus. I signed a contract with the company in April of 2024 to file an Offer in Compromise to CA state to try and negotiate a lower payment from past debt. I paid them $2,000 up front to gather all of my data. At that point we signed a contract and they asked for a $10,000.00 retainer fee to file the paperwork with the state. That was almost a year ago. I called the state (all three agencies involved) and all 3 stated that the Offer in Compromise had never been filed over the last 10 months!! At that point the state said, that even if they do file the forms, I would not qualify for any reduction in debt. When I confronted Shawn Zali directly during this process he REFUSED to return the retainer fee stating that he is still working on reducing my debt. It CLEARLY states in our signed contract that if an offer is filed incorrectly, or not at all, that ALL FUNDS will be returned to the client. He still refuses to return the money and says he wants to continue to try and file. The state has already confirmed that I will NOT get a reduction but Shawn will not return the funds. They failed to uphold our contract by never filing the paperwork for 10 months. I understand they made a mistake but I no longer can wait the additional months long process to file and I demanded my retainer fee back. THEY REFUSE! Now I am filing a lawsuit against Shawn Zali and Tax Resolution Plus to get the retainer back. SO beware...EVEN WITH A CONTRACT that CLEARLY states that a mistake or not filling is a breach of contract, they are trying to file a new complaint after 10 months have gone by avoid returning $10,000.00. I CANNOT believe the audacity and immorality displayed by Shawn and Tax Resolution Plus to not just admit they made a mistake and not return my money. $10,000 is A LOT of money to not return!!! I plan to tell my story to the BBB and reach out the CA Bar Association to question the legal practice of Shawn and this company. I have all my documentation now and I hope the court sees the contract and rules in my favor to have these funds returned. I am filing the lawsuit in March. I plan to follow up here with the outcome on all matters. P.S. - 2 employees at Tax Resolution Plus both agreed with me that this was a mistake by the company and are surprised that they are not returning my retainer fee. read more

I hired Tax Resolutions Plus in Feb 2020 and I paid $7000 for services. An initial payment of $4000 up front and $400 a month afterwards until remaining balance was paid in full.The services were for 1.) Preparation of Power of Attorney for IRS and State taxes 2.) Assessment of administrative procedures and administrative remedies available 3.)Meeting with IRS by telephone or in person 4.) Negotiation of amounts proposed and/or assessed, as applicable for IRS/State taxes 5.) Preparing audit representation (collectively referred to herein as "matter"). The fee for total contract was $7000 as agreed. It's been four years and I haven't got any services provided. Nothing Negotiated with IRS and no communication or informed of any status regarding my case. I call constantly and get promises someone will call me back and nobody calls back. I sent many emails with no responses back. The responsibilities of firm was to perform financial services called for under agreement and keep client informed of progress and developments and respond promptly to clients inquiries and communications. They failed to do so. The Representatives on my case are Ramon Zoobalan EA 00068672EA and Elham Soleimani. I've tried reaching out to Tax Resolutions Plus with my concerns and questions and I get no phone calls back or email responses. It's been four years and nothing has been resolved and no changes to my original case. I agreed to make and maintain my payments and installment agreements to IRS and was told by Joe or Ramon from Tax Resolutions Plus that I didn't need to continue making payments to IRS because I hired them and so it could be paused for now and because I listened to them I now owe a whole lot more in accrued interest and penalties. This company is unprofessional and didn't promise the services that I paid for. Four years later and I've lost $7000 and didn't get anything resolved with IRS.
