I wanted to give my experience doing business with Irene and her company and why I would not come back here. Irene completed my business and personal tax returns for 2024. Prior to contacting her, I looked at a few different companies and settled on OC Financial Services. According to her website, the initial cost of a corporation return was $475. This includes a full tax preparation for State and Federal with direct deposit to your bank account at no extra charge fee, this will be your starting fee if you own a corporation, and when you provide all balance sheets and profit & loss statements. This also includes upto (2)K1 forms per preparation. When I contacted her office to schedule an appointment, they let me know to send in my documents by email before coming in. I emailed my documents on 2/10/25. My first in person appointment was on 2/12/25. During this appointment they had already prepared my returns for my personal and business. I was surprised that they already had my returns ready and all I needed to do was review them and come back in on 2/26/25 to sign my returns and pay the fees. During my first appointment, I asked how much the cost would be for my business and personal. Irene told me $1500 total. Prior to my second appointment on 2/26/25, I asked multiple times if I could get a breakdown of the fees after the initial cost of her services. I asked on 2/23/25 by email, 2/25/25 by phone and 2/26/25 by text and never given an invoice or breakdown. During my appointment on 2/26/25, I asked again for a breakdown on how she got to $1500 from the starting fee of $475. The only response I was given was because of liability. I felt uneasy after I received that answer but decided to sign and pay because it was getting close to the deadline for the corporation return. When it came time to pay for her services, she said for the corporation, it would be $1500 and from what I can remember, I think she said " since I like you, I will not charge you for your personal return". This was completely different from what she told me during our first appointment on 2/25/25. Prior to writing this review, I emailed Irene to get some clarification on the cost of my return. She said my corporate return required significantly more work than a very simple return. I do not believe this to be true. She said she had to do the following for my return: year-end review of your bookkeeping/income/expenses, Expense reclassification, Officer Compensation review, Shareholder basis review, Multi-layer Compliance verification, Additional liability exposure due to missing or imcomplete data, Required follow-up. The only additional work that I was aware of was required follow-up, which was done after I paid the fees on 2/26/25, because I unknowingly provided a old pin from the IRS. After she emailed me 3 times regarding the pin, the return was able to be filed. I was never notified about the other additional work and was never told the cost until I emailed her on 11/23/25 and was given this explanation. I provided complete balance sheet and complete profit and loss. She could not have reviewed my bookkeeping because I never gave her access to my account software. She said I came into her office more than a couple of time when I only went to her office two times. I am not asking for a refund or adjustment since it has been some time since the returns were completed, but I do feel like I was mislead when it came to the cost of her services. At the bottom of her email it says "No gimmicks. no fluff. Straightforward. Honest. Affordable. Ethical." My feeling toward this is the complete opposite. If you do any business with this company, make sure you get in writing the detailed cost of the services at your first appointment. I mistakenly trusted what I saw on her website. I would not come back here because I feel like they are not forthcoming with the cost of their services, as I said before, I asked multiple times for a breakdown of the fees after the initial cost and it was never given to me. read more

I submitted a request through Yelp with a few tax questions that I'm looking to get addressed, hoping they're familiar with the relevant information. I didn't request a specific time for consultation. Several days later, I got a "response" to the effect of not being available at the requested time. No evidence they read my message, not a relevant response, and if course no referral to a business that would be better equipped to assist. Glad I didn't go there in person to waste my time, even though it says "walk-ins welcome". Edit: in response to the business; you obviously took more time to respond to my review than to respond to my inquiry with you and gain a client rather than lose one. Had you responded with a relevant, even if copy-pasted information is "we apologize, but we cannot take on any new clients in September..." would've been perfectly fine. I stand by my review of how you interact with prospective clients. Perhaps you can get some of those corporate clients to give their impressions, but the one you gave me is strongly negative. read more

I understood their prices of tax services and received lots of information of prices. However, never did they mention a $75 refund calculation fee. They didn't let me know of that fee beforehand. If I knew it was $75 for just a calculation, I would've obviously not asked for one but they argued that they did mention it. So I had no option but to pay after. After asking for an estimated calculation on my refund, It would be nice to hear "Ok, that will be $75" before just doing it then charging after. I never had to pay for a calculation so this must be very new. read more
